"Wanna go home, doc?" A nurse greeted Kenzie.
Kenzie smiled slightly and nodded his head lightly in a polite response. While both hands began to tidy up the items on the table and put important documents into his briefcase.
"Doctor Kenzie since yesterday came home on time continues, yes. Though usually doctors like to forget the time in the hospital because of the ease of work."
Another nurse chimed in, "Now it's different, ma'am. Doctor Kenzie already has a life companion so anyone waiting at his diner has to go home on time."
Their conversation was not at all disguised. They deliberately spoke with an exaggerated volume of sound so that they could see how Kenzie reacted.
Kenzie showed nothing on his face. But both his hands moved faster and faster to clean the table.
"Assynogaal?" The soft voice of Humairah instantly caught the attention of the nurses.
The room that had been crowded by the voices of the nurses was now silent. They stared at the arrival of Humairah with eyes full of gossip, guessing what Humairah wanted to do here.
"Waalaikumsalam, Humairah." Finally one of the nurses answered Humairah's greeting.
He smiled broadly to welcome the arrival of Humairah. Without even being asked he put away his body to give Humairah a way.
"Why did you come here?" The nurse was friendly.
Humairah smiled gently. His polite manner made them very comfortable talking to him. Because Humairah comes from a wealthy family but always humble to his interlocutors.
"You see Kenzie, ma'am." Answer Humairah shame.
Humairah nodded in thanks, then went inside with a black paper bag in her right hand.
Today he got the night shift so he just came at 5. But actually he had to come by at 7pm because he was in the night shift. Unfortunately Kenzie does not have a working night and has to go home at 5 pm so he comes at this time. Kenzie usually likes to go home even though he does not have hours of night work. For some reason since yesterday Kenzie no longer came home at night and went straight home at 5 pm. So Humairah did not get to meet him.
"Assalamualaikum, why?" Humairah said his regards.
Kenzie answered the greeting without raising his face looking at Humairah.
Seeing Kenzie's indifference, Humairah's heart immediately ached. She's sad to be cheated on by Kenzie. Especially when he thought that Kenzie was now married to Azira, his heart grew sick and jealous.
"Mas Kenzie wants to go home?" Humairah bit her lips nervously.
"Yes, it's time to go home." Answer Kenzie put the last document in the briefcase.
"But Kenzie usually comes home at night, why is today suddenly so late in the afternoon?" Humairah does not understand or rather he does not want to understand the situation of Kenzie who has had a wife.
Kenzie took his white coat on the back of the chair.
"First, I am your superior here so you should call me with a formal call, which is a doctor. Second, there is no rule I have to go home at night because my work hours run out at exactly 5 pm. And third, I'm back in time now because there's someone at home waiting for my return." Then he checked his phone screen.
No, no message from his wife. Seeing this Kenzie's forehead shriveled unhappily. Yesterday he had bought her a new phone and a new card, so Azira had an easier time contacting her.
