Mahram To Azira

Mahram To Azira
Chapters 5.9

The next morning Azira came down from the room without waiting for Kenzie to come home from the mosque because Kenzie must have been praying for a long time inside the mosque. There are prayer and dhikr events that spend a lot of time to make Azira tired of waiting in the room. It would be fine if his stomach was still as troubled as it was yesterday. He just needs to sleep on the bed waiting for Kenzie's return. But today he recovered. He was uncomfortable crouching in the room without helping in the kitchen. Especially after a few days of absence does not come down to help in the kitchen, the family at home must have a lot of negative opinions to him.

"Assynolajet, Umi. Good morning." Good morning." Azira went into the kitchen. His legs had faltered when stepping earlier when he saw Sasa also in the kitchen.

She still remembered that when she first entered the kitchen of this house, her hijab was removed and thrown away by Sasa. To be honest it was an insult to any woman who was treated harshly by Sasa. But then again he was just a newcomer to this house and he could not complain because this matter also happened to be caused by himself.

"Huh, the hostess finally came out as well. I don't know where she got the trust that in this house she could do anything as she pleased, acting this house was her ancestral home. Where the shame is in him, I don't know where he's going." Sindir Sasa without looking at him.

Her mouth spoke spicy but both of her hands did not stop helping Umi cook. Sasa was very dissatisfied with this brother-in-law because the homework that Azira was supposed to do was instead done by him. Pain during menstruation is indeed felt by almost all women in this world but never once had he seen a woman like Azira. It's just an ordinary pain but it's exaggerated as if it's paralyzed.

"Sorry, I'll help." Azira lowered her head standing beside Sasa. She had no idea what Umi was cooking this morning and was just following what Sasa was doing.

"Wait."

"Yes, Umi?"

Umi suddenly picks up the vegetable that Azira just held and throws it into the sink. Azira is confused by Umi's actions. He saw the vegetables thrown into the sink.

"You still an obstacle?" Umi asked with a dissatisfied expression on her face.

Azira's heart immediately thumped.

"Y-yeah, Umi."

"Because you're still unlucky then don't come to the kitchen to help. You're still dirty and the dirty people in this house can't touch the food." Said Umi trying to disguise the disgusted expression on her face.

He had spoken to Aunt Safa about the origin of where Azira had come from. As Sasa had told him, Azira came from a dirty place and her mother did the dirty work. With such an unhealthy environment it is impossible if azirah can grow into a good girl. Azira must be used to life in that dirty place to make his heart blacken. The most valid evidence is that he bit the hand of the master who gave him food.

Azira should be grateful to be brought home by his father and his family. Instead of replying to them with betrayal. The news that broke Umi the most was that Humairah was still lying sick in her room and often mentioned Kenzie's name in her sleep. Humairah's condition is very concerning, and Umi as her future father-in-law was very guilty because her son preferred a despicable woman rather than a good woman who had guaranteed her character.

Every time he thought about their conversation, Umi's dislike of Azira multiplied many times and he kept thinking what steps to take to separate his son from the woman. Thinking, what kind of way to do to save Kenzie from that despicable woman. And think of a lot of ways to convince Kenzie to let go of that unworthy woman and get back together with Humairah.

"Mom..." Sasa felt bad seeing Umi's sharp demeanor.

"Go out, your place is not here. You're allowed into the kitchen when you're clean." Umi said without giving the slightest face to Azira.

Azira was still glued to the spot. His heart seemed to be torn to shreds hearing every word issued by Umi. He was cruel to think. He thinks in this world humans are not easy to act evil we have a clear conscience, if we can not do good then at least respect the interlocutor is enough without issuing cruel words. But what he thought turned out to be a big mistake. Not everyone has a big and broad heart, nor does everyone have the slightest sympathy for strangers.

My fault. It's all my fault. No cry. What he said is true. The inner Azira strengthened herself.

He took a deep breath while suppressing the uncomfortable feeling in his heart. His eyes flickered quickly trying to stop the warm liquid that was beginning to pool in his eyes. It hurts, but it's nothing for him. Her pain was not as painful as when she saw her mother's cold body.

"Then... I'll clean the backyard. Assalamualaikum." After saying his greetings, Azira turned around from the kitchen. Walk quickly to the backyard.

"Permy... Why is Umi suddenly like this?" Sasa sees Umi strange because usually the most patient person in this house is Umi. And Umi was also a way of saying such harsh words, but today, Sasa was very surprised.

******

After arriving in the backyard Azira no longer thought about the problems in the kitchen. Yesterday afternoon Abah said that this page will be taken care of by him from now on. Therefore, he should take the time to come to the yard as often as possible to clean and water it. This task was very important for her because it was ordered directly by Abah and at the same time all the plants in the yard were planted directly by her husband.

"What fruit is this? Why haven't I seen her?" While sweeping the courtyard Azira paused for a moment to stare at a tall tree that adjoined directly with a shrill tree.

The tree already had small fruits on each branch. The color is green and the shape is strange, at first glance similar to a water guava but not a water guava.

"It's called a pear. Kenzie brought his tree straight from Germany. This pear has a very sweet and crunchy taste, one of the fruits favored by kak Kenzie. If the fruit is large later you can try it."

Sasa came with a tray of food in his hand. He put the tray of food on the table while talking. Due to the awkward situation in the kitchen earlier, he took the initiative to prepare the food and send it to the backyard. He instead accepted Azira, no, not at all!

It's just... It was just that when he saw Azira's red eyes in the kitchen earlier his heart suddenly felt uneasy - no, not because he was sympathetic! Da... It might be because she was afraid that her brother was angry with her!

Right, that's it!

"Oh... It's a pear tree." Azira immediately felt awkward when she saw Sasa.

Indeed, he was very shocked because Sasa suddenly took the initiative to speak to him. Basically Sasa would ignore his presence if he did not say any satirical words.

"The fruit looks different from the pears that I often see. Is this another pear?" Azira asked embarrassedly.

Sasa frowned in wonder.

"Have you ever eaten this kind of pear?"

Pears are not rare but a little expensive than other fruits but that does not mean it is not affordable. According to him, many people who buy this fruit are also as poor as they are.

"My mother often bought a very large yellow pear. The fruit is too large, often I leave half the part because it can not spend." The fact is this is a lie.

He and his mother used to live poor, eating was difficult. If you can buy fruit it is a very rare pleasure in the family of both of them. And if you can buy pears, Azira does not dare to eat the fruit whole and deliberately leave half so that her mother can also get a share.

"The kind of water you eat and your mother doesn't taste good at all." Is Azira's life that difficult?

This question was in his heart. But Bibi Safa said Azira's mother was a woman who sold her pride to striped men. The money earned is definitely not small, so they should not be short of money. It's just.... Why does Azira sound so pitiful?

"I know.." It's not sweet but I'm very grateful.

"Continue your work, I will return to the kitchen to help Umi serve food at the table." Sasa then fled into the house.

Azira breathed a sigh of relief. His back that had stiffened now began to relax again. Sighing lightly, he resumed his sweep work that had been delayed.
