Moonlight After Sunset's

Moonlight After Sunset's
[S2E69] Mid-Semester Exam

"Goals are the most important thing in starting a new challenge."

******************#####*****************

That night when everyone was fast asleep, there was a girl who was struggling with her letter. The girl looked annoyed for a moment but a second later a faint smile appeared at the corner of her lips.

The girl then left her room and got into the carriage. In the middle of the dark night the train cars were speeding towards the academy.

Arriving at the academy, the girl immediately went towards the third floor dormitory building. With a single knock the door opened and revealed the figure of a slender servant.

The maid then greeted the girl and took her coat. He allowed the girl to rest and relieve her fatigue.

"Dian, give me this message,"

Dusk then removed one of his earrings and handed it to Dian along with a letter he had prepared beforehand.

"The rest of you know what to do, right?"

Dian with her lazy smile took the order. He then exited the room and immediately went to meet Eza on the other side of the building.

Dusk lazily opened his shoes while staring at the exam schedule. There are five compulsory lessons such as basic combat techniques, basic defense techniques, basic healing techniques, basic combat analysis techniques, and basic element manipulation techniques.

These five techniques are compulsory subjects of the second year. Where students must graduate with perfect grades on these subjects.

This exam lasted for fifteen days. The first five days are spent with practical exams with teaching professors. While the rest of the day will be used for sister level.

"Although it looks difficult but the fact that the five lessons are very easy because they are still basic." exclaimed Dusk while laying himself on the bed.

"What is a problem for me is just getting it." continued Dusk in his heart.

Dusk refocused his vision on the exam schedule. There are five compulsory subjects that are displayed there along with the time and location of the exam.

"The basic fighting technique is scheduled for Monday at nine in the morning. There are two methods of testing: the magic theory test and the practice test."

To be honest not only the basic battle techniques but the entire subjects used both methods. This is done to see the ability of students from two sides, namely understanding the theory and expertise of the use of magic through practice.

"Lady, you have to go to bed immediately because in five hours you have to be in class for the exam" Khalid exclaimed as he looked at the sky outside the window.

"I know,"

"Lady, you're not...."

"Yes, yes I know. I'll go to sleep soon." replied Dusk as he closed his eyes.

A few minutes later the sound of regular breathing began to be heard from the top of the mattress. Khalid who realized that his missus was asleep immediately turned off the lights and let the temperature in the room stay warm.

Magic building

The sleepy twilight was led slowly by Khalid to his class. He lazily entered the classroom and sat in the backseat.

The bench is in the right corner of the class right in front of the window. Dusk deliberately chose the chair so that his body can get the intake of warm morning sunlight.

The view outside the window is also fun to see. There is a small garden with several benches arranged neatly in each circle.

"Uhm, I remembered the incident at that time." murmured Dusk as he glanced at the hallway that was right next to the park.

Dusk then set his gaze on Amir who was seated four rows of seats in front of him. Amir seemed to be very busy with a basic defense theory book on his desk.

"She looks diligent but I'm not sure if she actually reads the entire book" exclaimed the female student who was next to Dusk.

"Alisa," the female student continued as she extended her right hand.

"Senja," replied Dusk while welcoming the helping hand.

"I don't like sitting in front, too tense and competitive." exclaimed Alisa once again.

"Oh, so."

"You yourself why sit here? Don't you always stay there?"

Alisa pointed to the Dusk subscription chair during her studies in this class. In fact, the chair is the favorite chair of Dusk because it is right in the middle. Chairs that are not too prominent and do not get too much pressure from professors.

"No, I'm just tired of sitting there."

"Oh so, great. Sometimes we need to find a new atmosphere."

"Right, besides why are you talking to me? Not you..."

"I don't hate you, who hate you are them." cut Alisa while pointing at one of the rows of chairs not far from them.

"I'm neutral, I don't really like meddling in other people's affairs." continued Alisa before opening her notebook.

"In addition, you have to be careful with her." whispered Alisa as she raised her eyes on Amir.

"He's very cunning" he continued with a look of hate.

"You know him?" tanya Dusk curious.

"No, I just know that she's an orphan."

"meaning?"

"Amir is from an orphanage, all the students in this place hate him because he is so arrogant."

"Is that trustworthy?"

"Isn't Amir very shy and reserved." continued Dusk in his heart.

"Of course, do you know that he fights a lot with some of the students in our class."

"No, Amir is a pem..."

Alisa's words came to a halt as a light knock greeted the class. It was obvious on the doorstep that Prof Philip was looking at the students with a strange smile on his lips.

"Remember, you have to be careful with her." Alisa said before focusing on Prof Philip who was circulating his gaze around the room.

As soon as the entire window was tightly shut, no one could see the scene outside the window, not even the sunlight alone could barge in.

Inside the darkness, Dusk could hear Alisa's shocked voice. Not only did Alisa even a few other students start to shout confusedly.

Dusk lazily recited lightning magic to illuminate his side. He did that to see the situation of Alisa and her surroundings.

Instantly the sound of applause echoed in the room along with the appearance of lighting. It was clear that prof Phillip's naughty face was smiling sweetly at Dusk.

"Very good," praised Prof Philip who made the entire student stare at Dusk.

"In a state of urgency, you must remain calm and think logically, do not be rash let alone have to shout."

Prof Philip restarted his habit in sarcastic terms. He does not hesitate to insinuate students who he thinks are incompetent. Even without a doubt Prof Philip will expel students from the class if he does not like it.

"What Dusk does is a good example that you can apply. If the enemy makes an attack like that, all you have to do is stay calm while reciting a magic spell to immediately find out their location. If you keep quiet like a rock, you could get killed before you can see the light again."

Prof Philip explained in detail the dangers that can occur in such situations. He then pointed at the students who were shouting one by one.

"You can get out" he continued, pointing to the door.

"You guys have failed this test, it's been seen from the way you handled the situation, quite disappointing."

"But prof it's not fair, we're even bell..."

"No need, you guys failed before you started the exam. I'm afraid you'll get hurt if you keep going. Besides you can still meet me again in the next semester."

Prof Philip's sweet smile even gave the entire class goosebumps. He firmly rejected the requests of the students and immediately expelled them from the class.

"Alisa, are you okay?" ask Dusk while Alisa is fixing her book.

"What's wrong, Prof Philip is crazy. Besides that indeed from the beginning I did not intend to take this exam." Alisa replied while showing off her white teeth.

Alisa then walked out of the classroom and soon the classroom door was tightly closed. Then Prof Philip immediately distributed a sheet of exam paper to the remaining students.

"Of the 25 students only 15 of them managed to take the exam because of the incident." murmured Dusk when the exam paper was already on his desk.

"Now, you can start." Excited Prof Philip after all the students got the exam papers.

After hearing Prof Philip's explanation before Dusk then opened the exam sheet. There are three problems with three different forms of battle theory.

"Firstly how to finish a fight if the enemy uses defense magic, the second explains the method of combat if the enemy attacks suddenly..."

Dusk's attention stopped while reading the second question. He felt that the question on the second question was very similar to what Prof Philip did when he first entered the classroom.

Feeling something strange, Dusk began to notice Prof Philip. It turned out that not only Dusk but some students were also paying attention to Prof Philip.

Shut up for a while until one of the students starts doing eye code with some of his friends. After getting a definite nod, he immediately raised his hand.

"Prof..."

"Just do it" Prof Philip cut as if he knew what the student wanted to ask.

Dusk who saw prof Philip's relaxed reaction began to realize the reason for the expulsion of the previous students. He felt that Prof Philip's words about failing the test were not a lie.

"I don't know if I should be thankful or crying." murmured Dusk upon seeing the matter.

With mixed feelings Dusk began to answer the whole matter. He felt confident that the midterms were the hardest exams the academy had ever seen.

"Not many students take this exam."

Dusk then continued to answer the exam. He calmly answered all the questions one by one.

Without Dusk realize the time has shown at 11 noon. When Dusk was about to write the last paragraph of his magic theory, suddenly the question sheet and the answer were interested in flying.

"Ah, what is this?"

The Twilight Reflex asked as it looked at the answer sheet already drawn away towards Prof Philip's desk. Not only Dusk it also happened to all students there.

"Your time is up." exclaimed Prof Philip as he pointed to the clock that was right in front of him.

The clock could not be seen by the students unless they turned the body upside down. The clock is deliberately placed behind the student seat so that they focus more on learning than how long the study time.

"Huh,"

Dusk could only sigh deeply as he watched his answer sheet disappear. Honestly, Dusk was not so afraid because all the questions he had answered in accordance with the prevailing theory.

Prof Philip then stood up from his chair while putting all the questions and answers in a special box. The box is capable of storing goods and can only be opened by the owner

"The next stage is the practice exam and you are only given 30 minutes to rest." Excited Prof Philip before he left the classroom.

"30 minutes, looks like enough for lunch."

Dusk then went out along with the other students. He does not want to waste his precious time and late lunch because of things that are not important.

"Senja," call out a voice that makes the Dusk daydream crumble.

"Damn, my lunch." lamented Dusk quietly before turning his body.

Right in front of him was Amir who was holding two sandwiches that look delicious.

"What's wrong?" tanya Dusk while occasionally glancing towards the sandwich Amir was carrying.

"I just want to give this to you."
