Moonlight After Sunset's
[S2E89] Awda Village

"Every life has its own dark side."

*****************######****************

"The village?" exclaiming Dusk confused while glancing around him.

With narrowed eyes, Dusk tried to find the existence of the village around them. Unfortunately as far as the eyes look at Dusk only see a vast expanse of weeds.

"Sik, you won't be able to find it if it's like that." exclaimed Evan as he patted gently on the shoulder of Dusk.

"Evan's right you can't possibly find the village here." Noime said afterwards.

"Hmm, sometimes I wonder that you can act like an innocent little girl, too" Noime continued in his heart.

"I don't understand where the village really is?" tanya Dusk was upset.

Noime gently pointed towards the hill before them. And it can be seen clearly that the hill is directly connected to the forest that has been observed by Dusk since.

"On that hill?" tanya Dusk confused.

"No, the village is behind that hill. After all no one can occupy that hill because of the forest beside it." Evan explained.

"Hmm, I understand." reply Dusk.

"Good, let's go." exclaimed Noime who then led the way to the village.

During the trip Noime explained a little about the mission they were going to work on. Where the mission requires them to protect the gardens owned by villagers from monster attacks.

Unfortunately although it looks easy but monsters that must be fought on average have a grade between 3 to 5. Therefore, it takes a good hunter to complete this mission.

"I thought senior was able to kill that monster with a single slash but why do you look worried?"

"Bas stupid, if the monster comes alone then one of us is enough but in fact the monsters come in a horde." replied Evan while knocking softly the head of Dusk.

"It hurts...!" squealing the unprepared twilight with Evan's sudden blow.

"Dik as a virtuous senior I will show you how cruel the world is. So you have to learn well from this mission, right?" evan exclaimed with eyes shining brightly.

"Ahahaha, it seems like your junior has started to understand senior." lirih Dusk with a fake laugh.

"That's very nice junior, you're really quick to learn. Hahahah.." replied Evan while embracing the tiny body of Dusk in his arms.

"Hahaha, senior you're overdoing it." shrieked Twilight as she pushed Evan's burly body away from her.

"Don't be shy junior, your senior is very reliable about that."

"Hahaha, I know...."

The two continued to interact actively during the journey. Both Evan and Dusk continued to throw nonsense at each other as if they had known each other for a long time.

Noime who saw the interaction of the two could only remain silent. He did not stop Evan's teasing at Dusk nor advise the two to calm down. According to him both Evan and Dusk are equally similar.

"Nobility is indeed different," inner Noime with a flat look.

After walking for fifteen minutes they finally reached the foot of the hill. Noime calmly asked Evan and Dusk to be quiet.

Of course, the two of them were instantly silent, they could not even exhale loudly because Noime could be angry.

"We will climb up this hill and descend silently." Noime whispered to the two.

Evan and Dusk just nodded obediently, they then followed Noime's footsteps up the hill. It took 30 minutes for the three to reach the top of the hill.

When it is at the top of the hill Dusk can see the light of lanterns from several houses. He also saw several garden plots that were right under the foothills.

"Unbelievable, this is like a fairy tale village." Inner Dusk amazed.

He had only seen the village for the first time so beautiful. Even their house buildings are in the style of ancient architecture. Not only that the lighting they have is still using lanterns rather than which stone.

"What village is this?" ask Dusk spontaneously.

"Shut up!" snarl Noime before going down the hill.

Dusk who saw the conservative nature of Noime could only sigh long and of course the helan he made as light as possible so that Noime could not hear his voice.

"Why is he so rude? I just asked spontaneously, after all I wonder why we shouldn't talk on this hill." Inner Dusk was confused as well as upset.

On the sidelines of the twilight grunt, Evan gently whispered in his ear. He said that the village they were going to was named Awda.

Awda Village is a village whose residents come from neighboring kingdoms. The kingdom had fallen for an uncertain reason, and the remaining people of the kingdom spread across the continent, including to the kingdom of Green.

"It is not known exactly why the kingdom fell, but it is certain that they have now been established as residents of the Green kingdom thirty years ago."

Evan explained briefly so that Dusk understood what kind of village they would go to. Of course, Dusk was very happy with it and praised Evan for sharing this knowledge.

A long sigh instantly ended the conversation of Dusk and Evan. Both of them know that currently Noime is in a bumpy mode so it is very difficult to disturb.

A few minutes later they were in the middle of the road down the hill. The closer the twilight to the village of Awda, the more amazed he was with the view of the village.

But behind all his amazement Dusk felt something strange with the village. He felt that the village was very dark even though it had been illuminated by lanterns but still there were many corners that gave off a black aura.

"This village isn't a dark elf village, is it?" the Dusk is confused.

Usually a dark aura will only appear if there is a negative energy in the place. Even though the negative aura that Awda village has is not too strong but still Dusk feels something is blocking his heart.

When Dusk was wrestling with his mind suddenly his shoulder was hit slowly by Evan. The startled twilight instantly glanced at Evan with a ferocious look.

"Sorry, but you have to focus from now on." whispered Evan as he gave the eye glance code for Dusk to look forward.

An annoyed twilight then followed Evan's eye glances. It turned out that at this time the three were close to the valley where Awda village was located.

"Who is that?" ask Dusk quietly before Evan returns to his position.

"Village head," Evan replied then speeding up his pace towards Noime.

The twilight that witnessed Evan's changing nature began to question his situation. But he tries as much as possible to stay calm and see what Noime and Evan will do after.

"Hmm, they were kind to welcome our arrival in the morning like this." Inner Dusk when he had gone down the hill and was about to approach the entrance of the village.

"Although it's so Noime and Evan a little weird, I have to be vigilant." continued Dusk as Evan and Noime whispered to each other.

Surely Dusk had no idea what Evan was whispering to Noime but when he saw Noime's slightly quivering reaction Dusk began to speculate about their circumstances.

"This mission is not as simple as I imagined it to be" Dusk murmured before stopping his footsteps as he saw the village chief and the other three citizens walking up to them.

"Welcome knights, we are all here waiting for your presence." cried the village chief with a warm smile.

"Thank you sir for the welcome, we didn't expect that the village chief himself would welcome an apprentice like us." Evan replied as he reached out his right hand.

Seeing that the village head immediately welcomed Evan's hand and after that they both chatted casually as the village head guided the three towards one of the residents' houses.

"This house is purposely made specifically for guests. I hope you can rest comfortably here." exclaimed the village chief when they were right in front of the house.

"Good sir, thank you for your kindness."

"It doesn't matter son, besides you don't have to hesitate to ask for help from us, and if you have any obstacles we will be happy to help." continued the village chief still with his friendly smile.

"Thank you sir, your good intentions will gladly be accepted." Evan replied with a smile of formality.

"No need to hesitate, son, all this for the sake of good cooperation between us."

"Thank you sir, we really appreciate it."

"Gosh, son, you're so stiff. You can think of me and the villagers here as family, so don't be so stiff as that."

"No sir as a young boy we have to respect the older ones,"

"Geez son, you are indeed very polite it is not wrong for us to entrust this mission to you."

"I'm so grateful for the trust you've given me."

Evan continued to reply to the head politely according to the words of a noble. He also occasionally smiled formally at the village chief for some questions he could not explain.

After a few light conversations the village chief finally decided to end his conversation. Maybe he was tired of talking to Evan who only replied to him.

Even so Dusk which from the beginning witnessed the interaction of Evan and the village chief caught a little strange protesters. He saw that the village chief often glanced at the bottom of the house.

Dazed twilight tried to find out but unfortunately he had to stop his intention because one of the residents continued to pay attention to the movements of Dusk.

"Hmm, then I don't want to bother you anymore, please rest comfortably here." exclaimed the village chief before leaving.

The village chief then smiled faintly and along with the other three villagers, they immediately left the place to head to their homes.

It is clear that the house of the village head and three other residents are in the vicinity where they are staying. I don't know what the purpose of the village chief is but Dusk can clearly see that the situation feels strange.

"They seem to be watching this house," the inner Dusk looked around the area.

"One left, one right and two behind." murmured at Dusk as he saw the village chief and the three residents enter his house.

Dusk felt unable to let this matter pass just like that. Although he wanted to say this to Evan and Noime but Dusk undo his intentions when he saw the look of Noime's flat face.

"Uhm there is only one option, Ristia wake up." exclaimed Dusk with a sharp shining iris.

"There's a duty for you."
