EP. 39. Bad Day

Shien woke up suddenly the next day. He overslept. Though, last night Shien intended to keep himself from falling asleep. Shien was afraid that what happened yesterday was a dream. Dream, if he really is tied to the sky now. However, Shien's fear is excessive, because as soon as he wakes up Shien sees a chat notification with the name Sky on his phone screen, as well as a beautiful circular Sky giving ring on his ring finger, it was increasingly reassuring to Shien that what happened yesterday was reality.

Shien smiled, mocking himself. He did not believe, the defense that he had been built to not bind himself with anyone was easily destroyed because of the figure of a handsome man named Sky.

Shien sighed, wiping away the tiny sweat that filled his forehead and temples, then read once again the barrage of chat messages that Sky had sent a few minutes ago.

“Morning, Sien. Not awake yet? Semalem dream of me, don't you?”

Shien smiled amusedly. For some reason, the contents of messages like this alone have made his heart flowery. Is it too late to grow? Shien feels like an ABG kid who is new to what it's called dating and falling in love.

Ehh, wait. But this Shien was indeed Shien's first experience. Either in love or dating. Ehh, even engaged. Shien raised his left hand and widened his palm until the small, circular object on his ring finger appeared flickering under the sunlight that burst through the curtains of his room.

“Woy, Stiff Miss Shien. Not awake yet? What time is it?”

“Hey, wake up!”

“Sayang.”

“Sayang.”

Shien smiled amusedly, imagining Sky's annoyed expression as he never read or replied to his chat messages.

“Today can't see you. My work boomed, there continued to be a friend's nemenin promise later.”

“You haven't been to work, have you?”

“Then that's it, a lot of rest. Ready energy for our date later.”

“Because I'm not sure I'm just going the same way kiss you doang. 🙊”

Shien sighed as he turned his lazy eyeball after he read the last message from Heaven. Couldn't it be if Heaven didn't tease her just once?

Shien uncovers his blanket, gets ready to get up and wash his face in the bathroom. But undo when the chat notification back into his phone that turned out from the sky again. It seemed like the man saw Shien had already read the message.

The girl held back her laughter, Shien was too amused by the contents of the message Sky had sent. Not directly replying to the message, Shien chose to open a photo post from the Sky. A smile was instantly etched on her lips as she looked at the face of Heaven with her sweet smile plastered across the screen of the phone. The man took a picture in the car, it was neat in his work suit.

After that, Shien replied to the message. Since it was certain, if Shien did not reply to him, then Sky would protest by constantly sending him messages. But, Shien only replied to the last message. It would be too long if he replied to all the Sky messages one by one.

“Whispering.”

“😗.”

“I don’t love you (antonym)”

“There are no handsome. Not going to miss.”

“Do not chat again, or I block your number.”

Finished with replying to messages. Shien immediately moved from his bed to the bathroom.

Meanwhile the still unmoved Sky behind the wheel only snorted, between annoyed and anxious at once after reading Shien's reply message so short and no romantic-romantic at all. What's more the content of the last message, really annoying.

“Shienna. . .”

Shien was surprised instead of playing while holding a chest as soon as Shanna gave her name while jumping and embracing her shoulder just as Shien had just walked out of the room.

“Kakak. . .” Shien stared at the protest elder brother, his volume sounding low as he tried to set the rhythm of his breathing to return neutral.

And surprisingly even grinned wide without feeling guilty while pointing two fingers to form a V sign. “Sorry.”

Shien who saw that glared at him while trying to release Shanna's embrace on his shoulder. “Ngeselin.”

“Uluh-uluh cramming. Here sister kiss.” Shanna recklessly showered Shien with a kiss on his cheek until the lipstick he was wearing stuck to Shien's cheek, making the girl yell in annoyance. However, Shanna did not stop him, even when they had reached the bottom floor.

“Kotor my face, aarrrggh.” Shien growled in annoyance while cleaning his face using the back of his hand.

“Not this shower.” Cibir Shanna who saw Shien was still wearing his monkey-patterned pajamas because the girl was not allowed to go to the office by her parents. Including Aunt Hilda, the woman asked Shien to work from home only.

“But I've washed my face.” Sahut Shien fierce. Shanna just stuck out her tongue, satisfied to make the sister upset.

“This is Papa's children why has it been a storm this early in the morning?” Papa asked, the man walked over from the direction of the main door with the newspaper in his right hand. He then grabbed the shoulders of his two children and led them into the dining room.

“Kak Shanna. . .” Shien hung up his sentence, then blinked wrongly. Unknowingly, he spontaneously wanted to complain about his brother's ignorant actions earlier to Papa.

“Gak nothing.” Shien returned to his cold mode while letting go of Papa's embrace, then walked first, leaving Shanna and Papa behind who were still gawking in astonishment. As if he did not believe his hearing and vision.

Papa and Shanna looked at each other for a moment, then threw meaningful smiles at each other. It seemed that Shien had indeed started to accept back the presence of Papa and Mama in his heart.

Papa's heart was instantly stirred. Shien used to be so spoiled for her, the girl would whine and pit at her when Shawn or Shanna prank her. So looking at Shien's reflexive attitude earlier, Papa was really pleased. She misses Shanna who is spoiled, misses her stories, especially her crisp laughter.

Guilt re-strewn in Papa's heart. Because it was she who made Shien lose all that, cheerful face, smile, and sweet laughter. And Papa promised himself that he would give it back immediately. Papa would never hurt his youngest girl again, even if it was by accident.

“Shi, later in the afternoon you groom neatly. We go to the mall to buy holiday supplies to Bali tomorrow after tomorrow.” Shanna said, stopping Shien who had just opened his mouth to eat a cup of bread containing eggs in his hand.

Shien raised his eyebrows. “Holiday? Day after tomorrow?”

“Yep. The day after tomorrow, we have a family vacation to Bali.” Shanna replied, then started biting the bread with a big bite.

Shien smiled wryly. This is the first time he has been involved in a conversation about a family holiday. Didn't Shien hear wrong?

“Iya, Shi. Today you go see doctor Nathan again, tanyain can you not go to Bali later.” Timpal Mom. Shien blinked, trying to digest more clearly the meaning of Mama and her brother's words.

“I'm coming?” Shien asked ascertained, his gaze pointing at Shanna.

Shanna rolled her eyes lazily, then swallowed her hard-earned bread. “Yes is coming. Papa, Mama, I, same you, right family.”

“Ck, not usually also.” Shien murmured softly, then he started biting his sandwich. The suddenness of his words made the hearts of Papa and Mama back stunned.

“Shienna.”

Shien turned his head towards Shanna who was sitting next to him. The voice of the elder brother was so firm and reprimanded, so was his gaze. Like a sister who was afraid of being scolded by her brother, Shien clenched her mouth. The girl then gawked while exhaling her coarse breath, then ate her bread back without saying much.

“Buy important items only. Don't take Shien around mall.” Mom's message to Shanna.

“Yes, Captain.” Sahut Shanna while demonstrating the respect of military soldiers. Mama just grunted amusedly at the sight of it.

“Shien if you are tired, you go straight home.” This time Mama turned to Shien, her hand moving gently rubbing the girl's hair.

Shien simply responded with a nod before then moving into the car.

“Reno, drag this Mbakmu home if shopping kebablasan is not important.” And finally, the middle-aged woman advised Reno that she would accompany her twin daughter.

“Before dinner, the three of you should go home. If Shanna kebablasan, directly bring to the salon, hair gundulin.” Mama continued, making Shanna snort. While Reno who heard it just chuckled.

“Ready, Mom Mama.” Reno saluted, then blinked her eyes, making Mama anxious to see the child.

The presence of Reno makes the atmosphere of the house more crowded. Mama who initially disagreed with Reno was lined up as a driver for her son, it is now even the person who likes it the most because the child is very fun when invited to chat. Reno doesn't even mind accompanying Mama on the flower arrangement, but Shanna and Shien never accompany her.

The middle-aged woman waved as soon as the three got into the car and Reno began to push her forward.

“Where else are we going, huh?” Shanna asked cheerfully.

It had been more than four hours, Shanna, Shien, and Reno circled the mall. Instead of buying holiday goods, Shanna instead attracted Shien and Reno to visit the store some branded goods because they were tempted by newly launched products. And of course, the only one shopping was Shanna.

Actually Reno himself is not too fond of malls and has only been to the mall a few times in his lifetime. “Ya already yuk, Sha. We buy holiday supplies, abis it home.” Shanna reached out her hand to help Shien stand up. The girl's face was not as pale as earlier, making Shanna breathe a little relieved to see it.

“She wants to buy H&M clothes?” And Shien didn't want to mess up his brother's fun. Shien felt like he only needed a short break, he would be strong to walk again after that.

“Other times, deh.” Shanna smiled stiffly, the worry still emanating clearly filled her pretty face. “Ayo.”

“Ya already if it is.” Shien grabbed Shanna's hand.

They walked back, a few pairs of eyes watching Shanna and Shien as if they were strange creatures. It was obviously because it was because their faces were the same. Shanna and Shien knew that well.

Two hours passed, Shanna and Shien had already gotten the items they needed. From the start of beach goggles, swimsuits, flip-flops and others are already on hand now.

Shanna also chose some light clothing for Shien. Shien refused it and returned all the clothes back to where they were. At home, Shien's clothes were already too much, he felt he didn't need any new clothes. Just a vacation to Bali, why Shanna should be this cool?

“This is home, right?” Shien asked as soon as they walked out of the clothing store. He felt his legs cramp every time he stepped.

“Ke food court first, deh.” Answer Shanna. This time Shien and Reno agreed without protest. Obviously, they were hungry and also wanted something fresh after wasting more than six hours in the mall.

“But the shoes are beautiful.”

Shien and Reno rolled their eyes out in a puff of air as they watched Shanna stand in front of the glass wall of a shoe store.

His two eyes seemed to sparkle staring at the rows of glittering-looking shoe collections neatly lined up in the storefront.

“Kak. . .”

“Mbak. .”

Shien and Reno protest at the same time. Shanna turned her head, her eyes flickering comically as she brandished one of her index fingers as if begging. “One more time. This is the last.”

“It looks like you really should I gundulin, Ma'am.” Sahut Reno is upset. The look on his face was bent sour. But Shanna didn't notice it.

“You can sit on the sofa. This time I chose myself, not to ask your opinion. Really, deh.” Shanna said with a convincing twinkle. And not waiting for long, the girl quickly pulled Shien and Reno's hands into the shoe store. The two just followed Shanna.

Arriving there, Shanna immediately ran towards her target shoes, a pair of beautiful peach stiletto shoes.

While Shien, who was tired at first, walked after Shanna when he saw the men's pantofel shoes that most doctors wear.

The girl smiled inwardly. It's insanity. Shien never even thought of buying something for someone else, especially for a man. But now, Shien was eager to buy those shoes for the Sky.

“Shi, said you were tired. Just sit there.” Shanna's orders were alarmed because Shien had instead followed her.

“I also want to look around.” Shien replied clumsyly. He touched some of the women's shoes, pretending to be interested, before walking to a shelf displaying men's shoes. Leaving the fun Shanna looking at her target shoes.

However, when Shanna was about to take the shoes. There are other hands that want to take it too.

Shien felt his heart being hit by an enormous stone. He looked at the girl with an angry look, his hands clenched tightly on both sides of his thighs. Shien had never bullied the girl, but why attack her like this?

“Enough, Terry. . .” Shanna's roar of rage had already reached the breaking point. Luckily the shoe store was quiet and there were no other customers, so the screams did not attract attention.
