Astral Pet Store – Chapter 111
Su Lingyue, Jiang Xingyu and their friends had found several seats among the crowd. Su Lingyue was waiting for the class to start with a complicated mindset. Back then, they found their teacher to ask if the new teacher was real; cheng Shuanglin had confirmed that fact.
My regretful brother is an advanced teacher in the academy? Shouldn't he be guarding the shop?
Su Lingyue had asked that question in her mind several times. As Su Lingyue believed, Su Ping was already impossible to surpass competitors during the entrance examination and become a student. It would be a big joke to say that Su Ping could be their teacher.
But an advanced teacher? This is so stupid!
As someone who had spent many years with Su Ping, Su Lingyue did not appreciate what she heard. He killed a Magical Corpse Beast? If Su Ping was that good, he would have already bullied her to death at home.
Classes will begin soon. Su Lingyue wanted to see what was really going on. It was not Su Ping who first appeared on the stage, but Luo Guxue. Some students shouted in confusion as they were expecting a different teacher, although they also liked Luo Guxue's class.
“Alright, please calm down now,” Luo Guxue introduced while looking around the crowded place. “I will introduce my friend, also a new teacher who just joined our academy, Mr. Su Ping.”
As soon as Luo Guxue heard about Su Ping's lesson, he appeared first to support her, so Su Ping had no trouble dealing with the students, either, all because he doesn't look like a very convincing teacher.
His efforts did come to fruition as some students who doubted Su Ping chose to believe him.
“You're up. Stay calm and everything will be fine, ” Dong Mingsong told Su Ping backstage.
Su Ping did not need such a boost as he had gone through a much worse situation before. Even so, he still appreciated the kindness of the vice principal.
He nodded and went to join Luo Guxue on the stage, immediately attracting the attention of everyone.
“The person looks exactly the same as in the picture,” said a student. “Is he really our teacher?”
Using his improved eyesight, Su Ping slowly observed the students and was able to clearly see their facial hair.
Next, he saw Luo Guxue's spirit smile; he walked past him and started speaking to the students in a loud voice, while a few microphones helped convey his words to those outside the venue.
“Good day, everyone! I'll be your teacher today. My name is Su Ping, Ping as in ‘damai’.
Luo Guxue looked at Su Ping confident attitude and realized that his worries were unfounded.
I should have known. He did not appear to be afraid in the slightest when faced with that Magical Corpse Beast. Why should he be afraid in front of some students?
He jumped off the stage and quietly became another spectator.
Su Ping continued. “In a moment, I will show you something about Undead-type Astral Pets. You will learn a lot if you have an Undead pet. Or if not, do not worry, because such knowledge will be very useful once you go to a barren area after graduation. There, you will meet an Undead-type opponent sooner or later. Knowing how to deal with it more effectively is better than being unprepared.”
A student suddenly stood up and asked in a loud voice, “Master Su, everyone is talking about how you slaughtered the Magical Corpse Beast. Really?”
More students were muttering similar things because they all wanted to ask the same thing. They are happy that someone is brave enough to act first.
“Ya, I also want to know.” “Create sir??”
With someone taking the lead, more and more students joined in the chaos until order in that place was disrupted.
Su Ping raised an eyebrow. “It was written on my resume. Are you questioning the reliability of the academy staff, or my strength, in particular? ” The man who asked the question did doubt Su Ping, even though he would not be straightforward. “It's not like that, Mr. Su. Only, we hope you can show us something amazing if you can. ”
“He's right!”
“Show us! Show us!”
The crowd is back.
Su Ping sighed in frustration. He planned to spend an hour there, which was barely enough to show everything he had prepared to teach the students. The constant annoyance made him unhappy.
It's time to change the way.
“Quite fair.”
Some students with bad intentions smirked when they thought they would see Su Ping humiliating himself for real. Su Lingyue's seat was quite far away from the main stage, although she did not need to see Su Ping's face clearly to recognize him. His voice, the cheap coat he was wearing this morning, he couldn't possibly mistake this.
Aside from being surprised to see her brother actually being there, she also felt a little afraid that any joke Su Ping had would be caught if it continued this way; their entire family had to face the consequences of this charade. Every time Su Lingyue heard someone suspecting Su Ping ability, she felt her heart being gripped by the claws of stress. “Come out.” Su Ping tore through his pet room; a small skeleton tripped and collapsed on the floor, causing one of his ribs to slip apart.
The skeleton quickly reassembled the fallen ribs before pulling the bone blades and began to guard Su Ping with a serious look.
Through their connections, Su Ping said that there was no danger around him.
Little Skeleton returned his sword and slowly glanced at everyone present. The embers in his eye sockets flickered as if flashing.
This is the end, he thought. That person mentioned something about the skeleton that became his pet. So here it is. He'll disappoint us all.
The Little Skeleton did not look much different from an ordinary skeleton when it was idle, as the strength of the Skeleton King was usually hidden deep within its bones. The only thing to note was that the Little Skeleton was black, not pale white.
Before anyone could express an opinion, Su Ping told the Little Skeleton to go to the battlefield and show some sword work.
With a simple leap, the Little Skeleton leaped several meters into the air and landed within another zone beside the stage.
The students watching were shocked again as they did not expect the seemingly weak and slippery skeleton to move like that. Jumping is not an impressive thing for Astral Pets, but it is different when the skeleton, which is usually slow and fragile, does such a thing.
The Little Skeleton began to release dark energy clouds around its shape. After showing a short and sharp killing intent, he lifted his bone blade and slashed through the air in front of him.
The crack!
The sword aura that looked like a gigantic black crescent moon walked dozens of meters before disappearing, leaving a huge wound on the floor in its path.
Su Ping gave another order.
Roars!
The Little Skeleton took a step forward, steadying itself, and its small body emitted a deafening sound within the venue.
The students in the front seats were horrified as they briefly felt their minds empty. It felt like a thousand zombies or creepy ghosts were shouting into their ears and directly attacking their souls!
That was the end of the show. Since he was unable to find a corpse nearby, Su Ping was unable to tell the Little Skeleton to use the Slavery of the Undead.
“Now, back.” He opened his pet room again and took out the Small Skeleton.
Luo Guxue quietly nodded in admiration as he looked. He recognized the skeleton; it was the same person who killed and enslaved the Magical Corpse Beast. He knew Su Ping had what it took to get the students under his skin.
Just like Su Ping himself, the skeleton could cheat outside. People will not know his abilities until they see him with their own eyes. Backstage, Dong Mingsong and Feng Yanjing were both staring out after the show. No matter how Luo Guxue convinced them of Su Ping skill, they still had doubts. Now they don't have to.
As an experienced fighting pet warrior, Dong Mingsong clearly saw the true prowess of the skeleton, not because of the skills it displayed, he said, but an intense aura of violence was only possible for creatures that had faced countless enemies and survived.
Dong Mingsong glanced again at Su Ping's premature appearance and wondered how could this young man train such a skeleton.
Next to Dong Mingsong, Feng Yanjing finally knew why Su Ping was hired as an advanced teacher. That deadly sword attack was enough to tell him. Feng Yanjing was confident in his strength and defense, yet he was not so sure that he could survive the attack if he was on the receiving end. As far as he could see, the small skeleton could actually win against the Magical Beast in a direct confrontation.
Moreover, Su Ping seemed to be hiding more tricks behind his sleeves.
Meanwhile, the students stared at the giant crack with their jaws open. Including Su Lingyue, who did not believe that “weak skeleton of his useless brother” could be very deadly.
At dinner the other day, Su Ping mentioned that his skeleton was “pretty good.” At that moment, Su Lingyue thought her brother found a pet randomly and saw it as a treasure because he had never dealt with many Astral Pets before.
But this ... it's more than “good enough.” Even a high-ranking elite skeleton could not easily cut open ground like that!
Su Ping looked around the venue, before he set his eyes on the man who had openly questioned him a moment before. “Is that good enough?”
The students who were turned red angrily. That sword slash might not be enough to kill a Magical Corpse Beast, but no pet in that place could do better than that, that was for sure. “Yes-yes, Sir. Sorry...” “Sit down then. Let's start our lesson.”
Another student standing on the edge of the venue without a chair spoke, “Master Su, that skeleton is just one of, um, your average pet, right? Do you have a high-ranking one on you? ”
He tried to be polite, which meant he was really curious about the question.
“Yes. I wonder what his strongest pet is?” followed by other students.
“Magic Corpse Arrivals are ranked eighth top. He has a pet of rank nine, right??”
A rank nine pet meant the strongest under the Beast King. Of course everyone wants to see it.
“High level pet, yes?” Su Ping knew what they expected. “Yes, I have one. But I have not started training him.”
He raised his hand and summoned the Inferno Dragon dragon child.
