Astral Pet Store – Chapter 139
“Well, professor, there's a pet contest at the academy. We are fighting someone from the Berserking Sword Academy. But today's game is over. If you want, you can go and watch tomorrow. They schedule better matches for later. If I remember correctly, Ye Hao's match is scheduled for tomorrow as well. ”
So, today's lineup is complete. Why are there so few students coming? Su Ping wondered. “There's more I should know?” “No, professor.”
Su Ping frowned and told the disciple to leave.
The store receives a few more customers who come to take their pets away or to train the pets further. As usual, Su Ping waited until 10:30 p.m., sent some Dummy Trainers to take care of more pets, and went home.
There was only Su Lingyue waiting in the living room that day. Their mother is invisible.
“Where..”
Su Lingyue glanced at Su Ping and stopped his cultivation. “You took too long, so I told him to go to sleep first. Your dinner's in the kitchen. Throw it in the oven and feed yourself.”
Su Ping nodded and did so.
There seemed to be many varieties left for her that day. After bringing his food to the table, Su Lingyue also joined him after taking the water. “Do you still have that ... Dragon Hell?” Su Lingyue asked first.
“What, you want to see it too?”
It was indeed what Su Lingyue wanted, but she no longer felt that way when Su Ping mentioned it that way.
“No, I don't care. It was just a Hell Dragon. There are many pictures on the Internet.”
“Oke.”
Su Lingyue rolled her eyes. “Did you hear about pet contest in academy today?”
Su Ping muttered something without looking up from his food.
“... I have a match tomorrow afternoon. Will you come and watch?”
“Em? Aren't you a first-class kid?”
“What's wrong with being a first-class kid? I am my year champion!”
“So, is the match like, for educational purposes?”
“It's a friendly competition between academies, stupid!”
“Um-hm.”
Su Lingyue gave up and stepped upstairs.
“Wait,” Su Ping called him.
“What do you want??”
“Just come here,” Su Ping gestured. Su Lingyue frowned and decided to listen to him even though she was completely unwilling. “Anything. If you have something to say, talk about it quickly. ”
“*sighs *Can you be a little more friendly at least?”
Su Ping shook his head and channeled some astral power into the water barrier around his body. The barrier quickly shrank smaller until it became a translucent ball floating in front of it.
“What is it?” Su Lingyue was wide-eyed at the sight of the ball.
“This is Aquatic Blessing, a tool used for protection.” Su Ping handed the ball to his sister. “You can use it during your match. Return it when you are done. ”
Su Ping had won this item by spending the merit points he had earned during the barren expedition. This item was powerful enough to fend off most attacks of the eighth rank or below. Still, it was useless to him when he spent most of his time in the shop.
“Item barrier?” Su Lingyue turned the water ball in awe. “How did you get this thing?”
“Do you have to ask? Just give it back if you don't want it.”
None of them were bothered by their “ unfriendly” conversation, as this is their bread and butter these days.
Su Lingyue smiled slightly. “Because you sincerely intend to give me a gift, I will receive it.”
“I'll let you borrow it. For one day.”
“Hmph-deep. Not like I need it.”
Of course Su Lingyue would not hand over the item too early. He had never seen anything so exciting before, and he wanted to have fun playing with it. “Uhh, how to use it?”
Su Ping looked at him impatiently and explained how to use the item properly.
Su Lingyue followed the instructions by sending her astral power into the item. Immediately, the ball widened into a thin layer made of the water element, which stuck to his skin like a sunscreen.
Su Ping made such a decision after what happened during the day. He was afraid that those “ rival” students would vent their revenge against the other students from Phoenix Peak Academy, meaning his sister was not safe.
“Goodnight then.” Su Ping cleaned his plate and went to his room without saying anything more.
Su Lingyue wanted to ask him about his sudden generosity, but he did not do so in the end.
The next morning, Su Lingyue and Su Ping ate in complete silence and parted ways, as usual.
Some of the customers waiting seemed to be in a great hurry that day. After thanking Su Ping for raising their pet so well, they immediately went to the academy without looking back.
Tang Lang, who was waiting at the end of the queue, saw all the students leave and asked with a strange look, “Master Su, why are these people calling you a professor? You teach them a class? ”
“Yes. Are you going to leave your Wing Beast to train again? ”
Tang Lang nodded with a surprised expression. “Wait, you're a professor? But... You're not older than me, are you?” “How is what? You look too old anyway. I am only 18 years old, at the peak of my bright life.”
Tang Lang examined Su Ping face carefully and noticed that he did indeed have a lot of room to grow. In a good way. Wait, did he just call me old?? Being 21 is not old!
“Come, pay.” Su Ping waved his hand impatiently. “It will be 100,000, again.”
Tang Lang made the transfer while his face twitched in awkwardness. At least he would admit that hiring the services of Su Ping was truly worth it. After all the training, his Wing Beast became almost as strong as his best pet.
Previously, he had thought of sharing the address of the store with his friends, but then decided not to, after seeing how crowded this place was every day.
If he could, he would have already booked the entire store for his own use.
For now, Tang Lang decided to wait until his pet received sufficient training, before reporting his new “discovery” to his senior and teacher. At that moment, he was already far ahead of them.
Su Ping brought the Wing Beast into the pet room, summoned the Dummy Coach to take care of him, and entered the dragon king's inheritance land again, because not many people will go there at this kind of hour.
Even without using any Force Pellet, the battles and explorations he had gone through recently still increased the potential of his astral force at an incredible speed. Right now, he was almost at the top fourth rank.
When it was past lunchtime, he remembered Su Lingyue's match and Dong Mingsong's message, so he decided to check on the academy reluctantly. On his way, he headed to the grocery store to buy something he might use later.
The damaged floor in front of the academy was already repaired. Although this was nothing special since the academy was wealthy enough to hire their own repairmen.
He pulled out his phone and called the vice principal. “Halo? Mr. Dong. I'm at the academy's gate now. Where do I find the people you mentioned? ”
The end of Dong Mingsong sounded a bit noisy at the moment, so the old man spoke in a loud voice. He also sounded unhappy about something. “We are in Stadium One. Come on, the finals are about to start! ”
The finals?
Didn't Su Lingyue tell me that her match would be held around this hour? If the final starts, is he finished?
Confused, Su Ping drove even faster. Fortunately, he knew his way around the academy quite well back then. Stadium One is the largest facility in the entire academy, which is large enough to accommodate 100,000 people.
Unlike what he had imagined, he did not hear the sound of cheers or shouts coming from the building. Instead, it was silent, except for the occasional clashing sound that indicated someone was fighting.
He entered the building and saw almost all the seats were filled. However, the gloomy atmosphere in the stadium did not really reflect the number of spectators.
He looked further ahead and saw the familiar Black Hole Dragon currently showing its dominance on the middle stage, meanwhile making his opponent – Thunder Basilisk Ye Hao pinned under the claws.
Apparently, the final match of the contest had almost reached a conclusion. Which is not profitable.
Su Ping did not care much about Ye Hao's defeat because the Black Hole Dragon was clearly deadlier than the Thunder Basilisk in many aspects.
“Hey,” she asked the random audience closest to her. “Is Su Lingyue's match over?”
The accosted man replied in an ominous tone without looking at him, “It's done! Everyone is done! Goddamnit!”
“What's the result?”
“What do you mean ‘result?? Why do we have to compete with these psychopaths? It's crazy!”
Su Ping frowned and checked where Su Lingyue's class was sitting, but without finding it.
He should be fine with Aquatic Blessing protecting him. Doesn't it?
To be safe, he still headed there to ask about his sister.
