Astral Pet Store – Chapter 191
Not too long later, Su Ping arrived at a barren mountain chain that was completely covered by the burning earth and of course, a group of fire-type monsters, who immediately sensed his arrival and crept closer.
Su Ping summoned his Hell Dragon. The domineering dragon aura did a quick job of scaring off the lesser monsters, while the slightly stronger ones remained within their territory and trembled.
Without thinking of the monsters, Su Ping headed straight for the largest volcano in sight. If his memories were correct, the only threat he would face would be the Qilin Lion living on the mountain peak. It was a superior species among all fire-type monsters that could use many level nine abilities and was immune to the will of dragons.
He had previously managed to defeat the lion just by throwing himself to death repeatedly. However, back then, he was confident that his pets could fight lions well; they had grown much stronger since that day.
Instead, Su Ping did not plan to kill the lion this time around. He wants to catch her.
As he had expected, he saw a huge lava pool at the end of the mountain, which started bubbling as he arrived.
Suddenly, a pillar of fire shot towards him.
The Hell Dragon growled, then leaped forward and blocked the fire attack in lieu of Su Ping.
Reverse!
A giant creature over a dozen meters long from head to tail emerged from the lava and remained floating on the surface with its limbs on fire, staring at his enemy with a pair of burning eyes filled with an unquenchable fury. His body was completely covered by shiny emerald-like scales. Although its body resembles that of a large lion, it has a long snout, a reptilian head that occasionally spouts purple embers of fire. Su Ping summoned the Little Skeleton to join him, before he took out four mid-level beast-capturing rings and prayed for a good result.
“Take it!”
Using his astral power, he threw the ring at the towering beast.
The Qilin Lion felt offended by the attack and summoned a wall of lava, which fell on Su Ping position like a tidal wave.
Su Ping quickly pulled the ring back before it was swallowed by the burning liquid.
Well. I have to subdue him first. Looks like I can't ambush a rank nine pet easily.
Together, the Little Skeleton and Inferno Dragon charged forward to attack the lion, while the Dark Dragon Hound tried to flank the lion using its superior speed. Meanwhile, Su Ping remained outside the conflict zone and hid behind the Purple Python.
It didn't take long before the Qilin Lion showed several visible wounds all over its body, most of which were caused by the Little Skeleton's unexpected attack.
Seeing the Little Skeleton fool their enemies like a professional by teleporting here and there, an idea suddenly flashed through Su Ping mind.
Would it work if I let Little Skeleton handle the beast-capturing ring?
He called the Little Skeleton back to try it out immediately.
Su Ping handed the rings over to the skeleton and told him what to do through their spirit relationship.
It took Little Skeleton a while to grasp the new order, where the Inferno Dragon was quickly on the losing side after losing the Little Skeleton's favor; it was struck by the Qilin Lion helplessly.
“Go.” Su Ping urged the Little Skeleton so that the Hell Dragon would not be threatened anymore.
The Little Skeleton nodded slightly and disappeared. A second later, it somehow flashed over the lion's head, raised the beast-capturing ring, and threw it down.
Pingy!
The lion jumped left and right to find a better place to claw the Hell Dragon. Before he could land another blow, his body froze. It melted into a purple ray and entered the ring.
“* Whistle* Bull's eye. Nice!” Su Ping smiled with satisfaction.
He immediately pulled the ring back at him to prevent it from falling into the lava below. If the ring was destroyed, the Qilin Lion would come out and his efforts would be destroyed.
Just like the Fire Blood Dragon, the lion had been entangled by some impressive chains within the dark space, which would be extremely dangerous as the lion struggled.
Su Ping heaved a sigh of relief and put down the ring, before he ordered the Dark Dragon Hound to jump into the lava pool and retrieve the materials he was looking for. The dog whined and looked at Su Ping with a pair of watery puppy eyes.
Su Ping told the Hell Dragon to push the dog into the lava pool instead; the ferocious dragon heeded the order after giving a sympathetic look to his comrades-in-arms.
The dog saw the dragon claws coming, cried out in despair, and dived into the lava by itself.
A moment later, he returned to the surface and spat out a puddle of water from his mouth that looked like melted metal. Even with enough defensive spells, the dog's mouth and tongue were still badly burned.
Su Ping pulled the puddle of water into his hand and felt the soothing heat contained within, before he placed it in his inventory room.
Two more materials, and I was finally able to level up the Solar Bulwark. After breaking through, my body will finally be strong enough to withstand the attacks of rank nine warriors.
He already knew where to find one of the remaining materials hidden in another “dragon” scale land. This made him only have one other ingredient to look for.
Without waiting, he jumped into the Purple Python and left the sector.
