Astral Pet Store – Chapter 66
“It's not dead? But how?”
Everyone saw how powerful that direct spike attack was. It basically ground the Little Skeleton into particles. It is generally believed that the skeleton still needs most of its bones intact to be raised.
The Little Skeleton did not give them any more time to wonder. After releasing another ferocious howl, he lunged at the Magical Corpse Beast, the sword raised, while a blood vessel-like red mark flowed through his bones.
This was the strength of the Skeleton King bloodline.
The Magical Corpse Beast felt threatened by the appearance of the Little Skeleton. It roared back and hurriedly shot out more bone spikes to stop the Little Skeleton from approaching. But the Small Skeleton was too nimble at the moment. It skillfully dodged all attacks by jumping or using its sword to deflect.
Rarr!!
Once again, the Magical Corpse Beast began to attract waves of dark energy to channel another Spirit Surprise.
“It's bad. He did it again!” Fan Ganglie and Ye Chenshan wanted to warn Su Ping to retreat.
While maintaining his cold appearance, Su Ping sent another order to the Little Skeleton.
Huaoo!
It was Little Skeleton's Deadly Roar skill this time. As soon as the skill exploded, the effects of Spirit Shock came, trying to disrupt Little Skeleton's consciousness again. However, the Little Skeleton seemed completely unaffected this time around. It continued running towards the Magical Corpse Beast at full speed.
“That withstood the Spirit Surprise??” Fan Ganglie pointed out, “Don't tell me that the skeleton has higher spiritual potential than the rank eight Magical Beast?”
“That's impossible,” said Ye Chenshan, “Thus, he should have stayed behind to attack the enemy using spiritual attacks rather than attacking forwards. Maybe it was using some kind of special move to block that skill.”
Deadly Roar is a fairly common skill that is easily found in tutorial books. Just like any other similar skill, it was mainly used for bullying. No one noticed the defensive effect.
Ye Chenshan glanced at Su Ping again; he remained neutral.
“He knows this will work? Who is he exactly?”
“Kill it!” Su Ping ordered again remotely.
He discovered the extra effects of this Deadly Roar while traveling within the Chaotic Realm of the Undead. Of course Deadly Roar was not meant for defense. However, using the skill would somehow fill the Little Skeleton with uncontrollable violence and anger, which in turn could neutralize the invasive effects of Spirit Shock.
Even so, Su Ping still had to tell Little Skeleton to use Deadly Roar at the right time, up to a millisecond, for this to work. In order to practice, he spent a long time facing ghost monsters that only knew how to use spiritual attacks. And even so, he could only succeed about 7 times out of 10.
Next, the Little Skeleton leaped onto the Magical Corpse Beast and began to randomly slash through it at lightning speed. His sharp bone blades cut through the outer skin of the beast like knives that met butter. Within seconds, large pieces of bone and chips exploded.
The Magical Corpse Beast screamed in pain and created giant bone claws from its body to capture the Little Skeleton, which was completely useless against the Little Skeleton's swift movements.
The beast suddenly curled up into a ball and began to roll over, hoping to destroy the Little Skeleton.
The ground trembled as the giant bone ball swirled and clashed, where the Little Skeleton could not be found.
Fan Ganglie and Ye Chenshan were afraid that they would become the next target if the Little Skull was killed. They would have already escaped, if they had not seen Su Ping still watching the battle with an innocent look.
“Hei—hei, should we help? We can't just stand here.” the woman who accompanied Ye Chenshan anxiously spoke to Su Ping.
Lin Mokong and Ye Chenshan followed him and all looked at Su Ping with questioning looks. They had to admit that Su Ping was their most reliable maid at the moment.
Su Ping did not reply. He was too busy keeping an eye on the Magical Corpse Beast.
Rarr!!
The beast that rolled over screamed in pain.
It slowly stopped as a black fog seeped out through its shell and slowly covered it.
The others stared at Su Ping again, unsure of what was really going on.
Su Ping heaved a sigh of relief and finally threw away face from the battlefield. She gave the woman a friendly smile to thank her for her willingness to help, before speaking to Fan Ganglie, “It's over. Almost. You must take your Azure Quetzalcoatl. Maybe it can still be saved.”
Fan Ganglie looked at the Magical Corpse Beast with an uncertain gaze. He could not see anything as it was entirely covered in mist.
He saw his Azure Quetzalcoatl still struggling on the floor. With gritted teeth, he moved closer so he could drag the creature back into his pet room. Meanwhile, his Mountain Mover acted as his disguise.
