Lies
The first lie

Raya can't wait any longer. She decided to meet her husband who was in the room. It's an impromptu plan so Karan won't know his plan to come there. And as soon as Raya knocked on the door and entered, Karan looked so shocked. The man who was initially signing the document suddenly crossed out the document accidentally. His eyes widened to see the figure of the wife who approached towards him. By forcing a smile to appear on his lips, Karan greeted the wife.

“Honey, why are you here?” chirps. Without any pretense at all, Karan showed his surprised expression. This had not yet entered lunchtime and as he remembered, there was no word that Raya would come to his office. Even Karan who will menjeput Raya later. If the woman had suddenly come to his office like this, then it was only natural that Karan was surprised.

“Why? Can't I come here?” Raya chose to walk to Karan's side, seeing the husband's tense face. Why did the man look scared now? Is there something the man is hiding? Ah, true. When did Karan not hide anything from her? Compared to honesty, Karan hides more secrets from her. But this time it was completely different. Raya feels angry, especially if Karan hides about the arrival of the mysterious woman. Each silence Karan makes Raya more curious.

“Where might Darling? I really like you coming to visit me,” Karan chirped while taking Raya's hand. He stood up from his chair and took his wife to sit on the sofa. Suddenly Karan does something that he rarely does to Raya. “You want something to drink, honey? I'll have my secretary make it for you.”

Karan offers Raya a drink like he offered her another guest. That means, Karan considers Raya like everyone else too. Surprisingly Raya is very sensitive to that. Before it was not like this. Even before, Raya seemed indifferent to whatever Karan did, including with anyone Karan would meet and cooperate. Finally, the woman asked a question that had been plaguing her all day to almost ruin her job.

“No, why did you suddenly offer me a drink? Didn't you say I could do anything in your office? If I need a drink, I'll ask your secretary directly.” As Karan had told him before that he could do anything in that office. Karan even asked Raya to regard the CEO's room as the woman's workspace. But from the way Karan treats her right now, Raya knows something is wrong with her husband. “Why? Is there a problem?”

The Eyeball Kingdom did not believe in capturing what was in front of him at this moment. Not only was Karan shocked by his arrival, the man was nervous. He was so nervous that he sweated. Obviously the sweat is not because of hot weather despite the hot weather in Jakarta at this time. Just one reason for sure. Karan was misbehaving in front of him. The problem was, Raya did not know what the man was nervous about. What is certain is that Karan, who was usually so good at hiding his expression, is now out of control.

“Problems? N-no, Honey. Not at all.” Karan continues to evade. He threw away his face and tried to divert the conversation while hoping Raya would no longer bring up his nervousness. “So, where do we eat today?”

Raya sighed softly. “I have no problem eating anywhere, but I want to do something.” The woman took out some tissue sheets and approached Karan. Then, he wiped the man's face using the tissue until there was no more sweat on Karan's forehead. “Have you finished smoking?” tanya Raya so smelled the smell of tobacco from Karan's clothes. Although not so obvious, Raya still smelled the aroma. His sense of smell has been pretty solid lately. He is also sensitive to smells, especially those that are not familiar to him.

However, Karan has tried to remove the smell of cigarettes from him. He had changed his shirt so that the cigarette smoke did not stick there. Karan had also sprayed perfume on his clothes to disguise the smell of smoke. Unfortunately, Karan forgot the most important thing. He forgot to clean his mouth which obviously made the remnants of the tobacco scent still stuck there. Damnit damnit! Karan is like a chess piece squeezed by a king on a chessboard. Can't move at all except confessing his actions.

“Yes, I'm sorry, honey. I did smoke today. Sorry,” said Karan regretted his actions. Karan looked like he showed his sincerity which made Raya unable to say anything. Raya was silent for a moment, then approached Karan. The woman's hand was on Karan's chest.

“What's Karan? Tell me, do you have a problem?” Raya tried to ask me nicely. He does not want to make Karan even more depressed. This is not the original intention to come to Karan. She did not want to see her husband in this cold sweat. Karan even smoked again. Though Raya knows Karan is the type of person who will not break the promise. A man who is always serious about his words.

Instead of answering Raya's question and explaining what happened to her, Karan shook his head, seeming to want to end this conversation immediately. “Nothing, Honey. Really.” When Raya's eyes clearly showed disbelief, Karan tried to explain. Of course it doesn't explain what really happened. Just telling me something that can make Raya feel calm. “I have a little problem. About the canceled cooperation contract. Yeah, I'm stressed because of that and I take it out by smoking. I was wrong, I won't do that again,” Karan said regretfully.

Raya had already gotten her explanation, but she was still not quite satisfied with it. Karan will never confess until the end. The man was so persistent in hiding the mysterious woman. He could no longer hide his emotions. She was angry and disappointed with her husband. He only needs one explanation from Karan, it's up to the man to explain it as what. For example Karan says the woman is his co-worker or college friend. Whatever it is Raya will accept even though Raya doesn't know if Karan is lying to her or not. The most regretful is the attitude of Karan who impressed like he was covering up the existence of the woman. Hiding the fact that the woman called Karan last night and went to the CEO a while ago.

What would be wrong if Karan raised his voice and told Raya about the woman?

“Only that?” The ball of the eye began to water. Because of her increased sensitivity in the past two weeks, Raya could no longer hide her expression, including holding back her tears. “Do you still not want to explain who the woman who just entered this room, Karan?”
