Five Years Later

Five years have passed since Karan divorced Raya. He had not met the woman for five years as if Raya had deliberately hidden from him and was reluctant to meet him at all. Their last meeting took place when Raya was hospitalized, where Karan gave her a final hug. After that, even in the trial, the Kingdom was not present at all. Only his lawyer was sent by the woman. Because there was no objection from Karan's side, the trial continued to take place which was even attended directly by Karan.

Karan has never been absent from the trial. He still hopes, even if only as little as possible, that Raya will come to the trial and cancel their divorce. Unfortunately until the judge knocked on the hammer, Raya had never displayed the trunk of her nose at all. They eventually divorced without any charges. Karan does not ask for anything from Raya, and vice versa. There was nothing she wanted from Karan. Raya even rejected all the good intentions of Karan who wanted to give her the cost of living. “There is one more question Sir. This is a question we get on some of our social media. Many people are curious about your personal life. Can I ask you?” the journalist in the interview. Because the interview was conducted in Karan's office, he became hesitant about revealing the question in person. Finally, he asked the CEO.

Karan glanced at the watch he had in his hand. There was still ten minutes before the time of his departure to the airport. It means there is still time for Karan to do this interview. “Yes, no problem. But since I soon have to go to the airport, I thought maybe I would only answer one question.” Karan did not take issue with any of the questions the journalist was asking. During his life with Raya, he has often been pelted with personal questions. The problem for the man was his time. Karan really has a busy schedule.

Karan breezed away from the place, the meeting room that was used as a room for interviews. Surely the members of the media got what they wanted. Exclusive photos of Karan by eating the ring on his ring finger will be the thing discussed by the public. Karan has not shown any signs of his life. Unlike his past where Karan was always rumored to be close to some women, this time Karan really keeps himself from getting involved with things that make it difficult. Including women who he thought was one of the things that Karan was difficult to conquer.

Ian who saw Karan getting ready to exit the company building immediately chased after Karan. He opened the car door for the CEO. “We leave now, Sir?”

“But Sir, are you really not going to let go of your wedding ring?” asked Ian curiously.

Karan shook his head firmly. “No, Ian. I only live once, so I'll get married once. And to me, not a single woman can replace Raya as a wife. I can only consider Kingdom worthy.” It was a belief that continued to be nurtured in Karan's heart. The man will not marry anyone else because his love is too great for the ex-wife. If he could not maintain the Kingdom by his side, then not a single woman could replace Raya.
