The Funny Karan Side

It bit its trembling lips. Karan is unyielding to make her uncomfortable. After his actions a few minutes ago, now the man behaves as if he is the man who loves Raya the most, his wife. Can this be said as love? Karan insulted Raya and treated her like a comfort woman he hired. Is that how Karan expresses his love?

Raya's hand clenched tightly as Karan's lips stuck to her forehead. He should be happy because it was his choice. Raya can't possibly forget how she agreed to marry Karan. Even when the aunt told her to think again, Raya praised Karan as high as the sky. The woman loved to tell how gentle and kind Karan was. Also the success of the CEO set up his own business that was apart from the Reviano family's big-name alliance.

“Karan, let's eat. Don't embarrass me in front of Mama and Papa,” Raya finally said while releasing Karan's hand from her body.

Despite feeling annoyed, Karan follows Raya's will. “Alright, let's eat. Do not let prepared food cool down.”

Everyone agreed with Karan's words. Raya asks Anna to prepare a dinner that was made especially for her and Karan. Fortunately, the mother-in-law brought extra food to the house. Otherwise, Raya would feel ashamed for not being able to give her proper banquet to her in-laws.

Until the top of the show begins. Raya comes out of the kitchen with a birthday cake in her hand, complete with candles with the number 30, the age of Karan at this time. Surprisingly, Karan was surprised to see the cake, either because he was moved or because he did not expect Raya would still give him a birthday cake. For sure Karan couldn't possibly not know that Raya had prepared the cake for him. That guy's got a lot of spies in this house. Karan is just not sure Raya will continue her plan or not after what she did in the room.

“Happy birthday to my Husband. Hopefully you can become a better person again,” said Raya sincerely. In her heart Raya did expect something from Karan. Not love or compassion, but compassion. Raya wants Karan to treat her a little better, at least respecting her as a wife by giving her a little freedom.

Karan smiled gently, understanding what the meaning behind Raya's speech was. He also took his wife warmly. “Thank you Darling, I love you,” I admit.

Then, Karan blew the candle with vigor, chopped the cake into three pieces and fed his wife and parents. Karan shows how well he treats Raya in front of her mother and father. The man up to do a little silly thing to Raya. He applied white cream to his wife's cheek while laughing. Laughter that seemed so sincere in the eyes of her parents that they would never know who Karan really was.

The cake cut is over. Raya thinks Karan's parents will be home soon. In fact, he was wrong. Karan's mother and father instead planned to stay overnight in this house before they left tomorrow at dawn for the airport. Indeed, the distance of Karan's house is much closer to the airport compared to their home. So they decided to stay.

“Son, what do you want to know about Karan?” Karan's mother begins a conversation with Raya in the living room. While drinking soft drinks and desserts, the Karan family enjoyed the night by relaxing in the living room. While Karan was busy discussing with his father, the mother was trying to chat with her new daughter-in-law.

Raya takes her eyes off the television and looks at Karan's mother. “What yes?” The woman was really confused about what kind of question to the mother-in-law. Had this happened a month ago when they were unmarried and Raya still liked Karan, maybe he would have been interested in knowing the man's past. But not anymore. Her heart was already closed to any information about the husband.

“Hey, don't tell me Karan told you everything!”

Karan's mother's words made Raya smile clumsily. Instead, Karan never told her anything. In the sense of the knowledge of the Kingdom about Karan the big zero. “It's not like that Ma.”

Karan's mother moved seats. Now he sits beside Raya, on the same sofa as his son-in-law and son. “Do not worry Son. Mama will tell you something interesting about Karan that you never knew. Mama sure Karan would never tell this story before.”

Raya who was being ignorant turned interested when she accidentally saw Karan. The expression imprinted on her husband's face looked so stiff and his body also stiffened. It seemed that the man was worried about what his mother was about to say.

“Honey, don't listen to Mama.” Quickly Karan cuts off the conversation just before his mother opens her voice, trying to persuade Raya. “Mama, it's my birthday. Mom wants to badmouth me in front of my wife?” he said to send one to his mother.

“Mama ‘kan hasn't said anything, Karan. And you take it easy, you're Mama's son. There's no way Mama can vilify you in front of your wife,” said the mother with confidence.

Karan still did not want to give up. “But Ma—”

“Sst! You shut up, Karan!” Karan's mother looked at her husband and asked the man for help. “Pa, have Karan chat again so I can talk to my daughter-in-law.”

“Karan, just listen to your Mama's story. Papa is sure none of your ugliness will be revealed. After all, there would be no problem if the ugliness of the man was known to his wife. Papa believes Raya will not be a problem either. Isn't that so Nak?” it was Cetus who threw the question at Raya.

Raya nodded too. “Iya Karan's. It's okay if Mom wants to tell you a story. It won't change anything in our relationship. I'm sure of how I feel about you,” responded. Of course Raya is sure nothing will change because there is basically nothing special about their relationship. Karan and Raya are only bound by two marriage books registered at the civil registry office. They are just a couple under the law. Not emotionally.

Karan could not dwell on the attacks from the three people. He finally gave up. “Alright,” murmurs resigned.

Karan's mother excitedly begins her story. First he tells about the matchmaking made by him before Karan got married. He made three arranged marriages, and each one ran aground at the beginning of the journey. The first arranged marriage with the daughter of a member of the House of Representatives was unsuccessful because the woman was late to the meeting. An annoyed Karan brings up the work of the woman's father and corners him.

“He said that if his son could not be educated discipline and on time, how could his father take care of the people of Indonesia? That's funny, isn't it? Hahaha!” said Karan's mother while laughing out loud.

The story also made everyone there laugh. Even Karan who Raya saw was always cold-faced, suddenly laughing loudly. Raya until amazed to look at him.

“Mama!” karan then finished his laughter. “At that time ‘kan I was really upset because the woman was late. If you don't remember his mother was a friend of Mama's, maybe I've canceled the meeting.”

“You heard it Raya? He did not like the woman so he behaved very badly,” comments the mother. Then, the old woman recounted Karan's second date, where Karan immediately took his date to the beauty clinic during their first meeting. “Karan said his face was red spots, so he took it to the doctor. Though Nak, you know a few years ago was a make up trend like that, but Karan even thought he had a skin disease.”

This time the whole house laughed loudly, and again Karan did a defense. “The end of the woman's face looks so terrible. I asked her if she had any allergies, but she said no. So I think she got a skin disease because it doesn't match her thick makeup.”

“Yes, yes, yes. It's up to you.” The mother did not want to argue because she really wanted to finish her story about Karan's third date. But before that, he looked at the laughing face of Raya. He was happy to make his son-in-law happy like that. “How is Raya? Would you like to hear the last date? You're not bored ‘kan?”

“No Ma, this is really funny. I cried because of stomach pain heard it,” said Raya honestly. His stomach is sick because he keeps laughing at Karan's dating stories in the past. Raya never expected Karan to be like that. She never expected that her cruel husband had a witty human side.
