Karan and Farraz

An awkwardness was created in the room for a few minutes until Karan opened his voice after cleaning the tears that came down from both his eyeballs. With that hoarse voice, Karan asked the wife. “Where did you know about my identity? I mean since when did you know I was Farraz?” There's no way Raya just knows that there's no trigger. Someone else might have told the woman.

“Before I answer it, can I know who Karan Reviano really is?” tanya Raya responded to Karan's words.

A rough gust sounded from the direction across the Kingdom. It seems Karan looks heavy telling what happened to him in the past. “As you know, he is the son of the Reviano family. The birth child of Papa and Mama. But he died when he was 18, exactly a year before they took me in,” obviously the man.

It was also what Karan had feared first when the father asked him to change his identity and replace his only son who had died. Karan is afraid of being discovered. But after a week of thinking while monitoring the situation, Karan finally came to his senses. No one knows who or how Karan Reviano really looks. It was for this reason that Karan agreed to the father's proposal. Farraz was renamed Karan Reviano and sent to New York to receive intensive care for his injuries after his release from prison. The father wanted to make sure his new son was free of any illness and injury so that he could replace him later.

“And you haven't answered my question, Raya. Since when do you know my real identity?” ask Karan again.

“I know when we were at your house back then. Do you remember when we stayed at your parents' house? At that time I entered the room toys and stuff. At first I thought it was yours. But after I saw it, I thought it was too awkward. Especially when you see a sad Mama staring at those things as if the owner is no longer in this world. I really suspect.”

At that time Raya saw too many items stored by Karan's mother there. He said the stuff did belong to Karan. But the thing is, for a sizeable rich man like the Reviano family it feels awkward if those obsolete items are still stored. Right, Karan is indeed the only child of their family. The woman also fully understood what was happening.

“So since then you've been suspicious about my identity? Why don't you ask me directly?” ask Karan. The incident was a long time ago. It means that during that time Raya hid her suspicions in front of Karan. It was thought that Karan felt very upset because he did not expect the wife to know about her past but acted as if nothing had happened to them.

“What will I get after talking to you? You'll never say anything to me, Karan. You'll keep your identity hidden until the end. Don't lie anymore now because I won't believe it at all.”

Karan sipped his saliva unconsciously. He was overwhelmed by what his wife said. Maybe what Raya said was true. Ah, naw. That's absolutely true. Karan would never tell what happened in the past let alone reveal his identity. Because Karan knew, Raya would leave him once she realized that Karan, now not the son of the Reviano family, was not. “If I say it, will you stay with me? There is no guarantee you will continue to defend our marriage and continue with me if I am not Karan Reviano, but just a poor man who comes from a slum filled with poor criminals.”

No sound was heard in the room except from the air conditioning machine. Although it sounded rude, but what the man said was true. From the beginning, their marriage was not good. Raya only needs a big name and the wealth of a Karan Reviano for his popularity. And Karan needs a wife. With such an unhealthy relationship, there is no guarantee that it will last long. Raya will not guarantee that she will be with Karan again because she knows that Karan is not the son of the Reviano family.

“So, is that what you think of me? It's not my fault either, Raya. I don't want to do everything, but I'm angry with you and at our past. When I suffer with all the bad memories that happened 12 years ago, you forget them. Is that fair to me?”

Karan was honest. What he experienced while in prison was terrible and seemed unfair. Had there been no villagers to help him, Karan, then 16, would have been jailed longer. Not two years as he did back then. Karan could be sentenced to 12 years in prison. Or if convicted of premeditated murder, then Karan's sentence will be much more severe.
