Our Wrong Way

Karan never gave up on Raya. He did not want a divorce even though he started it. The divorce papers have been withdrawn as well as the lawsuit that was canceled. However, Raya did not immediately allow it. If Karan withdraws and his divorce suit is filed in a religious court, then Raya filed it. This time the woman conveyed her desire for divorce without any demands. The cause of the divorce was simply because Raya wanted to continue her career as a model, but the marriage tied her up so she wanted to break free from the bond.

Of course the ruling of the Kingdom was unpopular among the people. They judged that Raya was so selfish. Cap about Karan was not entirely negative in society, especially after Raya released her clarification video. There were many who defended Karan and instead cornered Raya. Surprisingly, Raya seemed to accept all the accusations. Even though he never showed himself to the public again after the release of the clarifying video and let the public think badly of him.

But Karan is not his name if he cannot meet Raya. He submitted a final requirement before agreeing to Raya's request for divorce. That requirement was to allow him to meet Raya at the hospital. Despite a strong rejection from her aunt, Raya actually granted Karan's request. He lets Karan come to the hospital again to meet him. Raya's physical condition makes it impossible to go anywhere, which is why it was Karan who was asked to enter her ward.

That day Karan came to Raya's room with many things, from food to flowers. I don't know if Karan would do that. Raya could understand the reason Karan brought food. Usually, Indonesian people do always do that when visiting someone, even though the person is not sick. But flowers? What was that thing Karan brought for? Though as Raya remembers, never once did he ask to be brought flowers by Karan. During their wedding ceremony, most of the flowers on display are Karan's choice of flowers. There is no contribution at all in choosing flowers.

“Sorry I came late. This is a flower for you,” exclaimed Karan as he approached the bed of Raya. He handed a bunch of tulips to his wife. It was a little awkward indeed because they had been separated for a long time. Three months. And it's success to make Karan crazy. I can't imagine how it will be when they are officially divorced. Karan would never see Raya again in such a long period of time. Not a month or even three months. More than that. Or the worst possibility is forever.

It is not polite to refuse the gift of others so Raya took the flower. “Thank you,” he said slowly. He watched the tulips for a while and inhaled a fresh scent from there. It looks like the flower was planted well. The shape is very beautiful with a very good white color. “The material is very pretty. Thank you for giving it to me.” Raya displayed a sweet smile on her lips.

“No need to thank. Since the beginning the flower is yours.”

Karan's words surprised Raya. She was also confused by the words of her husband. “You mean?”

“I plucked it directly from Asoka Street. There's a flower farm I promised you. And one of the results is the tulip that you are holding,” Karan explained.

No one would have believed Karan's words had they not seen Karan's injured hand. There are some rough scratches there. Certainly not a pen scratch because Karan will not be hurt from what he has been looking for. The new injury was caused by the use of sharp objects and soil friction. Although it seems easy, but not easy to take a bunch of tulips directly from the ground. You have to be careful with the soft texture of the flower. Wrong in the least, the flower will be damaged.

“You shouldn't have to do that. But once again I thank you,” timpal Raya.

“How are you doing? Have you improved?” Karan opened his voice again. He just stood there without being able to do anything. But he hated silence. That's why he started the conversation.

Raya nodded. “Ya, it's been pretty good.”

Both of his eyeballs looked at Karan's messy-looking face. It wasn't the first time Raya saw Karan not shaving the fine hairs around his face. Karan looks good with it. But what appears now is a different Karan. His weight dropped so much that he is so thin now. How is it possible in three months a man who always keeps his posture in order to stay proportionate suddenly so not ideal now? Does that guy have a problem? Could it be their divorce?

“How about you? Are you all right? Sit down, uncomfortable talking when you see you just standing there.” She asked back, even though she knew the answer. He just didn't want to seem as if he understood Karan the most. It used to be like that. As he becomes the figure of the old Drisana Kingdom who loves Farraz. Now everything has changed. Just as Karan has changed his name and has a new family, Raya has also left his old personality.

Instead of sitting on a comfortable sofa, Karan moves into the gurney. He sat in the gurney with his body facing the woman. Raya looks surprised, but she still allows Karan to do it because she initially offers her husband to sit down.

“Nothing is good with my life now, Raya. Everything is messed up and I'm so sorry,” Karan said. His bead eyes began to turn red staring at Raya. When his hand rubbed his wife's hand, her tears were released. “I know for free if I apologize now. But, I'm really sorry for losing our baby. I'm sorry, Raya. I'm sorry,” he said as he sobbed.

Initially Raya promised not to get carried away. However, just hearing Karan's trembling voice had already made him unable to endure. Karan was crying, something he had rarely seen all this time. As a teenager, Karan also once displayed a face like this. A sad and hurt face while looking at him. At that time Karan did it because he knew Raya's body was badly injured because it was beaten by the father. Karan who could not see it was not able to hold back his tears of pain.

“Karan, don't cry. I can't say that I forgive you because I'm really hurt for what you did. But please don't cry like this. You didn't know I was pregnant, so I was also guilty of covering it up from you.”

What is wrong with them is the way they love each other. Ways to survive the pain that even cause new pain. And the wrong time. Everything was wrong from the beginning. Maybe because they built their love story based on a lie. It started from the Kingdom that covered up the evil deeds of the father of Karan. Then when he was an adult, Karan lied by covering up his identity from Raya. They both lied from long ago to now. And to fix everything, it's going to be very difficult. Even the impossible.
