Promise Our Past

The longer they are together, the more torturous it will make Raya lose her life. Karan had no idea that would happen to him. Listening to his wife, his first love said such a sentence to her. It's too cruel, too painful to accept Raya. No matter what happens, it would be inappropriate for Raya to tell him that. Because the woman knew, Karan never wanted to hurt Raya. His life is only for the Kingdom. Everything he did, his possessions and his position as CEO would be useless if Karan could not get Raya. So, why is this happening? Where are their mistakes?

Tears began to fall from the two Great brown netra. Karan was shocked to see it. His heart was like it had just been sliced by a very sharp knife to cause an incredible pain. This is not the purpose of Karan taking Raya on her honeymoon. This is not what the man imagined with his wife. For whatever sake, Karan really wanted to spend time with Raya, certainly as a couple not as an enemy. The man also wanted to enjoy the beautiful days in Milan with his wife. Some places Karan has designated as their holiday destination. Lie if he is not enthusiastic and does not plan their honeymoon well.

Indeed, Ian is looking for some places, but still the choice of places Karan has finished well so what Ian sent to Raya is a really good place to visit. Karan made sure he had been there until he controlled the area. Because even though he had been spying on the Kingdom, still he did not know where the destination of the Kingdom went when visiting Italy. Who knows, the woman had already set foot in the location determined by Ian so Karan must be better at determining the best place even though the wife had visited the place. So that this honeymoon gives a memory that Raya never got anywhere.

But all that is just a wishful thinking and a plan. And cruelly all of it was destroyed in an instant. Is this his fault? No. gabe. It's not wrong at all. It's just the wrong thing here. He has said many times that he is a possessive man who is crazy. He does not like to see his wife close to other men, not least by his co-workers. Of course close emotionally due to physical closeness, as long as it is still in the reasonable category, Karan still tolerates it.

Isn't that what happened all this time? Karan has sufficiently softened the heart with the deeds of Raya. Raya and Reagan incident inside the hotel he just forgave because he had already punished his wife. So did the incident that appeared in the music video. Karan does not mind Raya working and interacting with other men. What Karan dislikes most is that she looks so naive as to think Reagan is only a coworker. Though from Karan's point of view, it seems clear Reagan had feelings for Raya. Reagan looked at his wife the same way Karan looked at her. A look full of love.

Karan growled in annoyance. Had they not been on the plane, Karan would have fled by now. He would rather go and not see the crying face of Raya. Because every time Raya looked at him with a face drenched in tears, Karan's mind always drifted into their past. To the moments where they are still lovers and Raya is always the one who accompanies her day. Never once did Karan not meet Raya. And vice versa. They are in the same school. And Karan always puts himself to take Raya home no matter how busy her time is.

Back to the Past, 12 Years Ago at Asoka State High School 1

“There's your girlfriend in front,” exclaim Karan's friend when they just finished playing basketball. Besides being good at subjects, especially Mathematics, Karan is a student who also likes to exercise, especially basketball. In the next few days Karan even joined the men's basketball team that will compete out of town representing his school. That's why Karan trained with his friends after school. So that their preparation can be enough to face teams from other schools.

“Thank you sister, I'll take a minute, I'll come back again,” Karan said as he wiped his wet face with a small towel.

“Yes, yes, yes. Don't take too long. Half an hour because we still have a lot to train after this. Try to come before our coach comes. Because if you get late, you'll be dropped from this team.” The team captain who is also Karan's upperclassman commemorates. If Karan is not a genius in sports, of course he will not give him permission to go on the sidelines of training sessions. Not only that, Karan is also hardworking and shows the spirit to win every game. Everyone on the team knows Karan is the only kid who comes in early for training. Karan was the one who came home late after training. Little Einstein was the one who helped the team captain clear the field after training, while the other members just chose to go home.

Karan smiled as he got the permit. Without wasting any time, Karan ran to meet Raya who was in front of the basketball court. The girl could not enter, rather was not allowed to enter. Of course by Karan because he did not like any member of his team who dared to tease his lover. Never believe in others, especially men, it is a basic principle that Karan must hold in his life. Raya Drisana is a beautiful girl, there is no guarantee the other students do not put their hearts on her. Karan only keeps Raya from turning to other men even though the way is pretty hard.

“Raya! You've been waiting a long time?” karan said as soon as he saw the figure of his girlfriend standing beside the school gate. “How? Have you finished the remedial?” Karan asked again. Remembering today Raya had to go home late for following the mathematical remedial. I don't know why his lover was always having trouble with mathematics when Karan had taught him with great difficulty.

Raya turned around, and Raya's face made Karan shocked. The girl was crying. Both of her brown eyes were covered in tears. Quickly Karan approached and exclaimed, “Hey, what's up? Why are you crying?”

Raya held up a piece of paper in front of Karan. “Am I really stupid?” she said sad with her two red eyes that were covered in water.

Karan was shocked to hear it. Her eyes moved from Raya's sad face to the piece of paper that her lover showed. Paper with red ink with the number 50. It means Raya does not graduate any more math subjects. This was quite surprising to Karan as he had never repeated any exams before. Plus he has also taught Raya well. So, how could Raya not graduate again this time?

“Try here let me see,” Karan said while taking Raya's remedial paper. He looked carefully at what was written there. Actually, the answer written by Raya is not too bad. The girl now knows how to do the problem and determine the formula correctly. The main problem of Raya is that he is not good at counting. That is why almost all questions are answered with a less precise answer in the end.

“Hhmm, not too bad,” Karan comments that make Raya surprised not play. The girl again raised her face and looked towards Karan as if asking the young man to continue his words. “Yes, this is not too bad. Wait a minute.” Karan stopped his sentence while looking around. After getting what he wanted, Karan took Raya there. It turns out Karan is looking for a seat for Raya. And the young man chose to visit a stall not far from the basketball court. “Sini, sit down,” he said to Raya.

“But I don't have any money, we better not be here.” Raya whispered the sentence in Karan's ear. The money is up to pay for school today. It is true that the government has launched a compulsory education program to the people of Indonesia. The program is only for nine years of education. This means that education funds are borne by the government until the stage of junior high school education. While Raya and millions of children who are already in the high school stage, still have to pay tuition fees with private money.

Karan smiles. He pulled Raya's hand and made the girl sit on the plastic chair next to him. “Do not worry, I have money for snacks.”

The Kening Raya frowned. “Where did you get the money?” Raya looked at her lover with a suspicious look.

A light blow landed on the head of the Kingdom. “Hey, don't look at me like that. I didn't get it the illegal way. Really!” The area where they live is a slum where the level of criminal behavior is so high. Naturally Raya was curious where he got the money from. “The money I got from last week's basketball game. You know we won big, right? The prize of the victory was quite a lot and the school distributed it to all team members.”

Karan is a very smart student. He often takes the race and wins it. Race from any field. That's why Karan doesn't have to worry about tuition. The man received a full scholarship from the school. He also received education funding from the ministry which was used to buy books, uniforms and additional course fees. Because Karan does not do formal courses and only relies on self-study from the books he buys, it is not uncommon for the money to be used by Karan to help Raya. Especially helping her lover's school fees though not too much.

“But that's your money. You should keep it for yourself,” said Raya refused. Karan has already spent a lot of money on him. The shoes she wears are one of them. Even his school fees last month were Karanlah who paid him. I feel ashamed of that. The goal of dating Karan is not to get help like this. He just really likes that guy. Had Raya been constantly treated like this, then what her friends were saying was true. That Raya is only using Karan for her own sake.

“Who said I didn't use it for myself too? I was doing that. I'm hungry and want to have lunch. But I can't eat alone in front of my girlfriend ‘ right? So I ordered two servings. It's simple as that.”

Raya smiled. Karan is always like this, good at finding excuses to help him. Although Raya had already rejected this reason, the man would definitely look for another reason for Raya to accept it. Until any rejection given by the Kingdom is free. The girl had no choice but to accept Karan's help again. “Thank you,” he said sincerely.

Karan's hand slapped Raya's head again. “Don't just thank me, Raya. But you must remember your promise to me.”

He began to think hard. “What promise?”

“Gosh! I thought you were just weak in math. You are also weak in memory. I can't believe this,” Karan said.

Karan's behavior makes Raya confused. “Ya ‘kan stay you just remind me what promise I have made.”

Karan really doesn't believe this. “Promise to marry me. You didn't forget that promise ‘kan?”
