Not To Replace

Karan jerks. It wasn't easy for Luca, but he didn't expect Luca to take it as a replacement. This is painful for Karan. Honestly, he was hurt to hear it. However, what could Karan fail at? Luca does feel that way. It's a pure greeting from a child that Karan should cherish. It means Luca was honest about his identity. Now he knows who Karan really is. At least Karan could be happy with that little thing.

“Do you like Daddy that much?” ask Karan again. He took one of the photos from Luca's desk. A picture of Luca and Edgar in a park. Looks like it's the park at Luca's school. Having delivered and picked up Luca several times from school, Karan finally recognized the situation at his son's school.

Raya also once said that Karan and Edgar look like fathers who are telling their grievances about their misbehaving children. It looks very attractive to Raya.

Luca likes to listen to fairy tales before going to bed. Edgar often stayed longer in Raya's apartment just to accompany Luca telling stories even though he eventually had to go home at midnight. It's not like Raya forbade Edgar to stay the night. The woman even often told him to sleep with Luca when the day was too late. It's just that Edgar had an important job the next morning so he had to get back to his house immediately. Karan continues his story after taking the finished bowl of ice cream out of Luca's hand and putting it on the study table. Karan's large hand moved to Luca's head. He stroked the top of his son's head gently. “So Luca, Uncle just said that Uncle does not want to replace Daddy. Uncle knows no one can replace Daddy for you. But Luca, Uncle also wants to be your father. Isn't having two fathers better than one? Uncle will be your father and Daddy will also remain your father. Luca did not answer. Looks like the kid still has things he thinks about. He hesitated when he wanted to say something. When you have thought about it for a long time, then Luca can express his wishes. “Do I also have to call my Uncle Daddy?”

“No,” sahut Luca. He approached Karan and touched the man's hand. “Will Uncle get married to Mommy?”

It seemed that the boy was indeed so smart that he could read the situation of his two parents very well. “Yes, Uncle is getting married again to Mommy. Do you disagree with that? Of course this Karan can't just decide. His greatest desire is to bring Raya and Luca back to his country. However, he couldn't have done it had Luca not wanted it. Karan could not just bring the boy to Jakarta when he did not want to because it would affect Luca's growth. It is very important for the child to live and thrive in an environment that supports him or her. And maybe Luca thinks Milan is the best place for him.

Karan lifts Luca's body and takes him into his lap. He said something to the boy that made the boy feel good. “Luca, for Uncle residence problems can not determine it alone because the one who will stay in our house later is not only you and Uncle, but there is Mommy too. Since Uncle has already heard your request, Uncle will listen to Mommy's request, then we decide the best one where we live. But Luca, Uncle has to tell you that Uncle likes this city too. Uncle doesn't mind if we stay here.”

Luca's face looked so excited. He smiled happily. “Really Uncle? So if Mommy agrees we stay here, we won't move?”

Karan. “Ya.”

“Actually I already knew Uncle was my real father. I used to see Uncle and Mommy's wedding photos on Mommy's phone. And I also often hear Mommy say that I look a lot like Uncle when Mommy put me to bed. That's why I also love Uncle just like Daddy.”
