A Great Sweetheart

Luca fled from that place. He did not want to hear any explanation from the three people who were there. He was so shocked that he locked himself in his room despite not locking him up. Luca had a bad experience with locking rooms. One time his bedroom door couldn't open because he locked it all of a sudden. As a result, Luca gets stuck in it without being able to do anything. Fortunately, Raya immediately asked for Edgar's help so that the door could open even though the man had to finally exert experts to break the key.

There was too much that Luca ended up with Edgar. All this time it was just the man that he considered a father, no other father that Luca could accept now. His heart would be broken if he knew that Edgar was not his father when he was proud of Edgar more than anyone. It is true that Luca loves Karan because he has met him a lot lately. Compared to Edgar who is busy with his work, Karan who is always there with him is very fun to play with. Karan is not stingy either. The man bought Luca a lot of his favorite food. Luca had no bad impression of Karan.

But that does not mean Karan can immediately replace Edgar just like his father. Luca has known Edgar for a long time, his friends also know Edgar as his father. How could his father suddenly change overnight? Luca can't take it. Until when can't. Especially if one day Karan takes him away from Milan. Although not very fond of school and friends, it does not mean Luca hates them. He was comfortable enough to live there. They also moved once. Luca doesn't want to have to move house again. “I'm sorry. I thought I could help you explain it to Luca, but I couldn't. I really didn't expect Luca to give such a response,” Edgar apologised. He really did not expect his adopted son to run away while crying like that. He thought Luca would accept it easily if explained well. But on the other hand, Edgar felt so happy to see how much affection Luca had for him even though he was not the boy's father.

It would be a lie if Edgar didn't love Luca. From birth, Edgar took care of Luca. In fact he was the father listed in the financing of the administration of Luca although on the deed the boy remains the name Karallah listed. Edgar's affection was so great that he was also unwilling if the child he had cared for for four years had to leave his side. Karan and Raya are Indonesians. There is no reason for them to settle in a foreign country while they have family and relatives in their home country. Edgar could visit Luca once in a while in Indonesia when he missed the boy, but would not be able to see him now. It made Edgar feel very sad.

There was nothing Edgar could do. The fact that Luca is not his biological son slaps him into a reality that he inevitably has to accept no matter what. It's sad, but Edgar must learn to forget Luca. Learn to separate from him. Also of course learn to bury his feelings towards Raya. The time they spend is not short. Five years. Raya knows for sure that Edgar is not the real father of the boy, but Raya respects him. The woman also discussed many matters concerning Luca as if Edgar was indeed the father of the child. Although Edgar also knew for sure how Raya felt. She still loves her ex-husband. That is evidenced where Raya always withdraws from the association if it does not deal with Luca and his work. Raya never wanted to open her heart to other men, including Edgar.

But what he wanted to say, the feelings Edgar had for Raya were not feelings he could prevent as he pleased. He could only restrain himself by creating a limit against the woman, greater than the limit that Kingdom created for him. So that he can encourage his feelings for something other than Luca. And after a long time, Edgar finally managed to do it. He managed to forget his intention to have Raya. Slowly Edgar was able to talk awkwardly with Raya as at the beginning of their meeting. She can still talk comfortably with him. It was a good thing than Edgar expressing his feelings but his relationship with Raya and Luca was destroyed.

“No Edgar, it wasn't your fault. It's just a matter of time. I'm sure sooner or later Luca will learn to accept everything,” said Raya defended Edgar because in reality there is nothing wrong here. Especially Edgar. That guy's done a lot for her and Luca. The time and affection that Edgar devoted to Luca was truly a real and sincere affection. Even sometimes, Raya feels surprised how Edgar and family can love a child who is not from their family very sincerely. Things that rarely found in other families, including in his country.

“True. It is not the time we blame each other for this incident,” Karan said chimed in. He could not let Raya and Edgar think about this too deeply. The problem with Luca is difficult, but that does not mean it cannot be faced. There must be a way to make Luca accept their condition. “I'll try to talk to Luca,” Karan said as he stood up from his place. After carrying the ice cream that Edgar bought, Karan enters Luca's unlocked room. Of course after the man got permission from the son.

In the room Karan saw his son curling his head onto a pillow. His voice was also sobbing for signs that the boy was still crying. Karan looks at Raya's face first and smiles at her ex-wife before closing Luca's bedroom door to give her privacy to talk to the boy. He had not known Luca for long. They just entered the introductory stage. Karan has a lot to learn from Edgar about Luca and he promises to learn slowly. But that doesn't mean Karan doesn't know his son at all. His feelings as a father led him to do this. He was sure he could convince his only son.

“Luca, don't you want this?” ask Karan while sitting on the chair that Luca used to study. Karan puts his bowl of ice cream on Luca's study table. There he noticed what was on Luca's desk where there were many photos taken by Luca along with Edgar. It is obvious how important Edgar is in Luca's life and Edgar's position will not be replaced by anything, including Karan even though he is the boy's real father.

Luca seemed to be affected by what Karan said, especially when the man mentioned the word ‘Daddy’. Though he knows Karan is his real father, Karan never calls himself Daddy. After all, the person who bought the ice cream was Edgar because Raya said that the man would come to their apartment. Luca asked his father to buy him his favorite ice cream from a place he used to buy with his father. It is clear the word ‘Daddy’ here refers to Edgar instead of Karan.

Seeing the response shown by Luca made Karan happy. Soon he picked up the ice cream and acted as if he was going to eat it. “If you don't want to, let Uncle spend it,” Karan said threatening Luca.

Of course Luca responded quickly. He really likes ice cream, especially ice cream purchased from his subscription place. He lifted his body and positioned himself to sit down. “No! That's the ice cream Daddy bought for me! Uncle can't eat it all!” luca Protest.

Karan hid his smile, but he was very happy to see the boy had started to talk to him. “Really? So you want to eat this? Yes, eat,”, he said, handing the ice cream bowl to Luca.

The boy picked up the ice cream and ate it voraciously. But then, he stopped suddenly. He noticed Karan looking at him. Finally, Luca scoops his ice cream again. This time not to put it in his mouth, but to give it to Karan. “This is for Uncle,” he said who did not seem to have the heart to see others looking at him eating. Luca decided to split his ice cream even though he liked the ice cream.

“For Uncle?” Karan asked to be sure.

Luca nodded quickly. “Iya.”

“Wah thank you Luca.” Karan eats the ice cream that his son has scooped up. “This is so good!”

“True ‘kan? I also told Mommy that this ice cream is delicious so I often buy it with Daddy!” tukas Luca explained. He also returned to his ice cream.

“You like Daddy a lot huh?”

Luca nodded again. “Yes, I really like Daddy.” The boy looked at Karan's face with a longing look. “What Uncle wants to replace Daddy?”
