Difficult Wounds to Heal

Karan said nothing more. He only got out of the car when Ian had parked his car in front of the hotel lobby. Nothing looked good from that badly handsome man. His face was pale and sweat flooded his temples. Judging from anywhere it seemed obvious that Karan was not okay. The man looked like he was holding something back, enduring the immense pain. The problem is Karan doesn't want to open his mouth. He always wanted to hide his problems alone, including to Ian. So in public, Karan will look like a company leader with no gaps at all.

All for the sake of the parents who raised him, for the sake of his adoptive family. Karan is indebted, and the only way to repay the debt is to make Reviano Group a big company. Karan can also be injured. He can also feel weak and helpless. It's just that all those feelings Karan never conveyed to anyone.

Something must be wrong. Ian thought about it hard. Karan never told what he felt, but that does not mean Ian did not realize what was wrong from the employer. It has been more than a decade Ian served Karan. Before marrying Raya, Karan's condition was worse than it is now. The man was very chaotic and looked in great pain especially at certain moments. Ian concluded Karan had suffered major trauma in the past. Maybe when he was in prison.

Karan's problems once languishing behind bars are no longer hidden from Ian. The man had already fully told about his dark past to the assistant. Right after he met Raya five years ago he opened up. Everything he told except one thing, about what happened during Karan's languishing there for about two years. Karan did not tell it at all, even when he wanted to discuss it, the CEO's face was suddenly very pale. Perhaps this is what keeps Karan from focusing himself on Raya. So that the trauma does not recur.

As Ian's mind was filled with his thoughts about Karan, suddenly his phone rang. The caller is his men who are in Indonesia. Ian had told them to find out about the information where Karan was detained 17 years ago. The detention center is well known, but it is very difficult to know what happened there. It's been almost two decades, it means that a lot has changed from that place, especially the people.

There is indeed a criminal record that mentions the name ‘Farraz’ as one of the residents of the place, unfortunately no one knows about the young man. Just as he had changed his identity, Farraz's existence slowly began to be forgotten. No one remembers a young man who was a criminal who was once a young prisoner there.

“How? Is there any progress?” ask Ian about that guy. If you can't find him at the detention house, then Ian has his men look elsewhere. There is still one person who knows how the incident was complete, namely the friend of Farraz's mother, the caretaker of the orphanage asked Farraz to deliver Raya to the woman's aunt's house to cover up her actions. Ian had difficulty finding the whereabouts of the woman. But after some time, he finally met a bright spot even though he was still not fully trustworthy. That was why he ordered some people to check on him.

“We've found the old woman's house, sir. As you said, he lives in his old house,” retorts Ian's men.

“Good, have you got any information from him about Mr Karan?”

“Already Sir. All the reports we have sent to your email.”

“Surel?” Ian removed the phone from his ear and looked at the screen. Turns right. An email was just sent to his email address. Ian spoke back to his men. “Good work, I'll give you a bonus.”

“Thank you Sir.”

Farraz did admit his actions, he told the chronology of the incident based on his intuition by estimating what Raya did at that time. But he did not want to admit when investigators asked him to admit it was an incident he had planned. He claimed to do it spontaneously as a form of self-defense. After all, Farraz did not bring any weapons to the house. If it was a deliberate crime, he should have carried his gun. In fact, the knife that became the only tool in the crime also came from the father's house so that the element of intent should not be proven.

Farraz had misjudged something. He was too panicked at that time so mindlessly removed the fingerprints of Kingdom from the blade. It means that Raya is not involved in the investigation of this case. Raya had already made an alibi by being at her aunt's house when the case happened. It was the perfect alibi as it was reinforced with evidence from the doctor's letter saying that Raya was in her territory to get treatment. So, it should all be perfect.

Yeah, it should be because in reality it's not so. The fingerprints Farraz removed from the knife were what backfired him. Thanks to the action made Farraz accused of having prepared weapons from outside the house Raya because there were no prints of Raya left there even though only the girl who usually cooks in the house. Raya had only gone for a few days before the incident due to illness, so it was impossible for the girl's fingerprints to be erased just like that.

Investigators concluded that the knife did not come from Raya's house. Had it even come from that house, Farraz would have stolen it before coming to that house that night, then used it to attack Raya's father to death. And it proves that this crime is a planned crime.

Farraz is in a desperate position. He could not confirm or deny the investigator's statement. If he explained the reason how Raya's fingerprints could be missing from the blade, then Raya would be dragged into the investigation. But if he does not dispute it, his fate is at stake. Farraz can be held longer than usual. Or worst of all, the young man could be in the detention house for life as a criminal he really did not do at all.

That was just Ian's initial guess as the former orphanage manager had earlier alleged. Later, Farraz's attitude began to change when visited by his mother's best friend. Though the woman was not alone, she brought a lawyer with her. Farraz was considered his own son because he took care of him since he was a baby. Although not giving birth to the young man and letting him grow in an area that is not worth it at all, it does not mean he does not care. It was evident by how he struggled to find help to free Farraz even though he had to spend all the money he had all this time even selling anything he could sell.

The strangest thing was Farraz's behavior, which seemed very frightened when he saw a woman. The young man even begged for forgiveness when he saw the orphanage manager. He shouted hysterically when spoken to by the woman who made the defense process difficult. The caretaker of the orphanage had to be willing to get out of the detention house and not come to visit Farraz afterwards.

However, they could not find an answer to Farraz's changing attitude. In the end, Farraz acted impulsively while in the courtroom. This time it was more severe than before precisely when Farraz saw a female police officer approach him to remove the handcuffs that were handcuffed to follow court procedures, where a suspect is about to enter the courtroom must not wear the attributes of the prisoner as a form that the court respects the presumption of innocence to the prisoners.

From then on the orphanage caretaker conducted a small investigation of the woman. She was just a poor, middle-aged woman with nothing, but she had something to be proud of, which was networking. As an orphanage administrator related to the administration of the orphanage, he knew some people who could be asked for help.

One of them is a criminal journalist who often covers criminal events that occur around Asoka Street. It was from the reporter that he knew the identity of the policewoman. Her name is Dona who serves as the head of the security unit of the institution where Farraz was detained.
