Madness

Madness
Chapter 12's

"Miss Alina Johan. Meet, Mr. Nathanael Axelle. The owner of this company."

The woman could only peek in place, when she finally faced the figure of the man she had been looking for all this time. Although he could have expected it earlier, but his breathing still started roaring fast. His body stiffened.

Looking at the woman in front of him who looked pale and was likely to have a panic attack, Marcus slightly approached her.

"Miss Alina? You all right?"

Marcus' hoarse voice, seemed to make Lin focus again. He opened his eyes. Trying to regulate his emotions back.

"Yes. I'm okay." Said slowly.

"Then, please sit here."

Marcus was actually not comfortable with this strange seating arrangement.

The two people in front of him sat on separate couches, opposite each other. And himself, in the midst of them both.

But his superior's request was a decree for him.

Sighing softly, Marcus began this awkward encounter.

"alright. Miss Alina, as I've said before. I'll try to help you to the problem that you told me that time."

Marcus scrutinized the face of the woman beside him, who looked still staring intently at the man opposite him. Looks like his boss will get a pretty tough opponent.

Turning to look at Nate, his superior looked misbehaved and slightly lowered his head.

Marcus looked back at Lin who was still sitting motionless.

"He is Mr. Nathanael, aka N. Axelle. He's the owner of the company, the owner of the ballpoint pen you found, and the perpetrator of the abuse you've been looking for all this time."

The atmosphere became silent after the very strange introduction.

After waiting for a while and realizing no one wanted to make a sound, Marcus finally stood up from his seat. He seemed to be tidying up his coat stiffly.

"Marc's?"

Nate who saw him looked up and asked. He was quite worried if left alone with the woman in front of him.

"I'm sorry, sir. But there's work I have to finish. I'm supposed to leave you both here. Excuse me."

"wait. Marc-"

Nate started to panic a little. His words were cut off by Lin's voice which also showed the same panic.

"Mr Marcus. I'm-"

"You don't worry, Miss Alina. As long as you're still within a safe distance, you'll be fine."

Without mercy, the cold man walked out of the room. Leaving behind two strangers who were still staring at each other awkwardly.

Not too long later, Lin heard the voice of the man in front of her that sounded smooth and deep.

"Miss Alina. I'd like to apologize for what I've done to you. I really don't intend to do that disrespectful thing."

"Not intending your word?"

Nate's words actually made Lin feel angry again. The woman glared.

"Once, I can still understand. But for the second time? You hope, I want to believe that you never intend to attack me at all?"

"Bu-not that I mean."

The man tried to explain. He raised both his hands, trying to ease the anger of the woman opposite him.

Just this time, he was dealing with a woman who was frontal like Lin. His experience with women, only with his wife who used to have a calm nature and tend to be quiet.

"The problem is, you have..."

The man fell silent. He scrunched his forehead and looked thinking while looking at the floor.

The man did not know to what extent he could tell this woman the truth. He knows nothing about himself except his real age.

Lin waited for the continuation of the man. "I have what?"

Gutting, the man finally looked at Lin. Decided to tell some of the truth.

"You have something unique, that interests me."

The woman fell silent. He was thinking, how far this man in front of him wanted to pombali himself. Do all men think that all women would be flattered if they were a little praised?

"I don't understand what you mean at all."

Lin's flat answer further confused Nate against him. How should he explain so that the woman can understand his point?

The man looked down at the floor, thinking. Unknowingly, the fingers of his left hand began to tap on his thigh with a regular rhythm.

That silence, Lin used to be able to observe further the man before him. In their two meetings, Lin had absolutely no chance of being able to see the man's face properly.

The man in front of him actually had a noble-like face. His cheekbones were tall, his nose pointed, straight and narrow, with a pair of not-so-thin lips.

His jawline looks firm and his ears are high, signifying someone who is intelligent.

His pair of sharp, light-grey eyes, shaded by his thick, pitch-black eyebrows. Just like her hair.

He also saw his fingers with short nails, looked long and looked strong.

His thigh also looks muscular, indicating a person who likes to exercise or do various other physical activities.

The way the man sat and carried himself looked very different to Marcus.

Marcus had a stiff manners, but this man was lithe and graceful. It is like coming from the upper class and accustomed to associate with certain groups. Not typical of ordinary people.

Lin's forehead wrinkled, when he realized that the man in front of him had a beautiful physique and overall. It might be true as Lucy said back then, that this man could be said to be handsome. Unfortunately, Lin was not interested in him at all.

Unaware of being judged by the woman in front of him, Nate looked up and looked at Lin.

The look in Nate's eyes asked, making Lin instantly throw his face away. His cheeks were slightly blushed, thinking that he was caught looking at the man's face and body.

Thinking that the woman in front of him hated him, Nate felt sad. He really wanted to get to know this woman further, but did not know how.

"What do I need to do to forgive me?"

Nate finally asked quietly. He was completely at a loss for words in front of this woman.

"Why did you do that?"

"As I said earlier, you-"

"Stop that shit. I asked again, why did you do that to me?"

Hearing Lin's resolute voice, Nate sighed. It seems like speaking honestly would be better to make this woman understand her circumstances.

"Because I bern*fsu saw you."

Nate's reply made Lin speechless. He looked straight into the man's eyes and saw no lies in them.

"Why?"

"You have a distinctive body scent, which makes me lose self-control. I'd like to fuck you."

Nate's words were completely unfiltered, making Lin's face turn pale. He slightly shuffled in his seat. He felt sorry for fishing this man.

Seeing the woman in front of him start to get scared, Nate felt guilty not filtering her words earlier.

"sorry. It's not my intention to scare you. But-"

"You serious?"

Lin's question made Nate speechless. He then nodded. "I'm serious."

"Just because of my body odor, you lost control?"

The man nodded again. "Just because of that."

If it was in an ordinary situation, Lin would probably approach the man and challenge him. But his previous experience taught Lin, that the man in front of him was much stronger than him. It would be very dangerous for the situation if the man completely lost control.

Clenching her hands, the woman looked at Nate sharply.

"What about now? Can you smell me?"

"Little bit. As long as you're not too close, I can make sure that you'll be safe."

Lin finally understood why at the first and second meeting, the man seemed to be trying to get away from him. Maybe this is why.

"To be honest, I don't really understand why this happened. But I'll trust you." Finally Lin said.

Nate was relieved. The man looked at Lin expectantly.

"Then, do you forgive me?"

"No."

The woman's words made Nate's hope drift far away.

"I can understand why you're doing it, but I can't accept why you can't control it. It is your own body. Your own will. That incident shows that you're not the man in charge."

The woman's sharp words made Nate speechless.

"Who can guarantee that I won't be around you forever? Maybe this happened to me now, and you can still explain to me why. But are you sure there won't be any other victims?"

Lin tried to notice the man's expression, but couldn't read it.

"Just because of a certain smell, you could attack a woman carelessly in the middle of the road. How are you responsible for that?"

Nate looked at the woman opposite him expressionlessly. Inwardly, he was amazed by this woman's courage. But he dared to bet with his entire life, that this incident would never befall anyone else, other than Lin himself.

In front of Lin, he nodded his head. Nate seemed to agree with the woman's argument.

"Then, what is your advice? I don't want this to happen again either."

"You have to learn how to control it."

"How do I do it?"

Clenching his lips, Lin had already made up his mind. At least before he resigned, he would help this man first through his problems.

"I'll help you."
