Chapter 48's

Nate and Lin were currently in the living room. The woman is seen looking at the man standing in front of an elongated window while receiving a phone call.

Recalling what had happened a few hours before, made Lin shake his head. The man turned out to be really addicted to what the woman had done before, when she was still dominated by her wild instincts.

Turning off her phone, Nate turned around and sat down tightly beside Lin. He lifted the woman's body into her lap and hugged her tightly like a doll.

One of Lin's hands held the man's cheeks and felt his temperature return to normal.

"Are you really healthy, Nate?"

Smiling, the man nodded. "Yes. Because you are."

The woman's eyebrows shot up. "Because of me?"

The man kissed the woman's forehead deeply.

"What you did made me heal faster, baby."

The new call made Lin blink and his cheeks heated up. "Oh. I see."

Chuckling, the man flicked at Lin's tiny nose.

"So, you already know what to do if it happens again?"

The man's perverted words, made Lin hit his chest hard.

"Don't joke, Nate. You really did pass out, making me and Mr. Marcus very worried."

"Lins. I'm not kidding at all."

Hearing Nate's serious-sounding voice, made the woman's head look up to look at him.

"I really need you, Lin. Do you know that?"

He was seen reaching into something from his pants pocket, and took out a small box.

Lin's heart was pounding fast. All this time, he had only seen scenes like this in movies or books he had read before.

I never thought I would experience it myself.

The man slowly opened the box and revealed a bright green-eyed ring adorned with small diamond grains around it.

The ring was very beautiful and Lin could not imagine how much it would cost.

"This is the legacy ring of the D'Axelle family, which was passed down to the women in the family. And since I'm an only child, then my mother can only give it to me."

One of Nate's hands rubbed the head of the woman in his lap.

"When I received it, I decided I would give it to the woman I love."

The man's lips kissed Lin's forehead deeply and long. Nate looked back at the woman.

"Lins. I want to give it to you. Would you accept it?"

The question words from the man felt like a dream to Lin. Nate's love statement left the woman speechless for a moment.

Lin's two eyes felt heated when he heard the continuation.

"Lins. Will you marry me?"

The woman lowered her gaze to the man's chest.

"Are you sure Nate? You are from among the nobility, while my origins are not very clear. You might be able to pick another woman over"

Hearing the woman start to feel insecure, Nate immediately kissed her aggressively. He didn't like Lin talking about himself in such a way.

After releasing the woman's lips, Nate looked at her furiously.

"I don't like you talking about yourself like that Lin. I love you because of you. Just because of you, not the other. You understand that?"

The woman's tears finally melted on her cheeks, slowly she nodded.

Rubbing the woman's wet cheeks, the man asked again.

"So, are you willing to be my life partner for good?"

Without making a sound, Lin immediately hugged very tightly the two shoulders of the man in front of him. She squeezed the hair of the man she was hugging. It was this man who had managed to get her out of her loneliness. How much he needed this man in his life.

"Yes Nate. I want to marry you."

Smiling, Nate kissed the cheek of the woman in his arms. His heart was relieved when Lin was finally willing to accept his feelings.

"Where's your hand. I'm gonna put this ring on your finger."

Taking the woman's hand, Nate slowly pinned the emerald-eyed ring onto Lin's ring finger which was miraculously, perfectly fitting in her hand.

The man's gaze looked astonished at how beautiful and fitting Lin's finger was when wearing his family's ring. This woman is his soul mate.

Examining the ring in his hand, Lin's brows began to wrinkle making Nate wonder. Did Lin not like his ring?

"What's wrong? You don't like the ring, Lin? Yeah, it's a little old-fashioned but-"

Unpleasant, the woman shook both hands.

"Oh. Nope. That's not Nate. This ring is so beautiful. It's just..."

The woman seemed hesitant to speak her mind. He did not want to offend the man. Moreover, he had just been proposed by her.

Ruffling the woman's hair, Nate smiled. I really like this woman's hair.

"Just tell Lin. What worries you?"

It was seen that the woman began to distance her hand wearing a ring. Trying to watch him from a distance.

"This ring is too conspicuous for me, Nate. I can't wear it to the office later."

Those words made the man's eyes slightly widen.

"You're going to stay in Lin's office? You're not resigning?"

That question made Lin nod and smile.

"Yes. It seems, for a while I will still work first there. I told Mr. Robertus. Frankly, I don't want this to happen again, Nate. At the very least, I can still be near you."

The woman's explanation made Nate close both her eyes and give back the old kiss on Lin's forehead. How much he loved this woman.

The man then chuckled, and took the woman's hand.

"I'll buy you a new ring soon. So you can wear it every day."

"What a normal Nate. So it won't be flashy."

Thinking that the woman was wearing an item that would show her possession, made the man's heart tremble happily.

For a long time, they were silent to each other. The man cradled the woman in his arms while rubbing her back slowly. He looks dreamy.

"Oh yeah, Nate. Actually, I have something to talk to you about."

Lin's words seemed to break the man's daydream. His head turned to Lin.

"About what, Lin?"

Hesitating, Lin finally replied while sitting down. "About Dominic."

The man's eyes squinted at the woman. Lin dared to talk about another man?

Slowly, Nate put Lin's body back on the sofa. He stood up and walked to the window, looking away from the woman.

"What's wrong with Dominic?"

Nate's voice sounded cold. The man wouldn't even look at her.

Lin's heart started pounding. He realized that this was a very sensitive topic for the man. But this needs to be discussed seriously. Nate needs to know the truth.

Slowly, the woman caught up with the man and stood behind him. Hesitating, he grabbed the back of Nate's shirt and tugged it a little slowly.

"I know what's going on between you two. Dominic told me."

The man in front of him was still silent and did not turn his body around.

"Others he tell me?" Finally the man asked.

"He did not explain in detail, but only said that he was forced to do so. At that time, his family was threatened and he could not afford to lose them."

"But he then had the heart to eliminate the family of others, Lin."

Both of Lin's eyes were glazed. He was well aware that the loss of the man could not be measured by anything.

Turning around, Nate showed that the collar of his shirt had reached the limit of his neck and slightly pressed his jaw, as it was pulled firmly by the woman earlier.

"Oh! Sorry Nate." Lin instantly removed his hand from the man's shirt.

Can breathe a sigh of relief, Nate confirmed the location of the shirt back. The man cleared his throat.

"I spoke to Dominic yesterday."

The woman's eyes are puffed. "Have you spoken?"

The man slightly leaned against the window, making the woman reflexively pull the man's hand.

"Dangerous Nate."

The man chuckles. He was so happy to see that the woman was worried about him.

Holding the woman's waist, Nate smiled.

"I already know why he did it. I've forgiven him, Lin."

Sumringah, that woman's smile looks wide. Showing a row of teeth are small and look neat.

"Oh. Thank goodness Nate. I'm glad to hear it!"

Nate held both sides of Lin's face and kissed her. He then retreated and scrunched his forehead.

"Why can you talk to him, Lin? Don't you like him?"

Without guilt, the woman chuckled.

"Yesterday he gave me another sponge cake Nate. It tastes so good. It turns out that Dominic is planning to open a small cake shop across from the apartment. I thought he was the owner of Allard Corp."

"He was the owner of Allard Corp."

The confirmation from the man made Lin shut his mouth. His eyes seemed to be shining and his mouth let out a voice of incredulous laughter.

"Wow! Is it true that he is the owner of the big company? I didn't think at all. Though he looks like a delinquent like that. And I didn't think at all that she was also very good at making cakes and other dishes."

For some reason, Nate did not like to see Lin look amazed to other men.

"You like her?"

Plain, Lin nodded. "Yes. I really like it."

That answer made both of Nate's eyes glare. Both of his hands gripped onto Lin's waist which he was holding and slightly distanced his body.

"You like it, Lin?" His tone slightly raised.

The man was very rarely angry, making the woman quite surprised when he saw Nate slightly lose control of herself. Confused, Lin could only squeak.

"Yes Nate. Should I not like? It tastes so good. If you don't believe it, you should ask him to make it for you."

The man's eyes seemed to blink rapidly. He just realized the woman's intention.

What the hell has he done? Just because of the cake problem, his emotions immediately rose like that. Is he jealous?

Looking at Lin's slightly anxious expression, it made Nate pull the woman into his embrace.

"Sorry Lin. I was jealous just now. I don't like you liking other men."

Hearing Nate's words, made Lin instead push the man away. Both of his eyes looked narrowed.

"What do you mean I like other men? You're accusing me of cheating, Nate?"

The woman's unexpected reaction, made the man startled.

"That's not what I mean, Lin. I just-"

"Perhaps, I should invite Dominic to dinner at my place."

Lin's words that contained a threat, made Nate push Lin so that the woman fell onto the sofa, with Nate's body squeezing on it.

"I challenge you Lin. Try saying it again?" The man's eyes squinted.

The woman's eyebrows shot up and her chin defied.

"I'll invite him to dinner at my place, Nate."

Snarling, the man started to tickle the belly of the woman below him making Lin careless. Not wanting to lose, the woman did the same.

In a few moments, they tickled each other and ended up laughing together. They hugged each other on the sofa.

Just then, Lin who was closing his eyes suddenly widened.

"Nate, we're forgetting something important."

Nate's head that was drowning in his drowned hair was just a lazy mutter. The man's hands were engrossed in hugging the soft body that was docked to him.

"Nate!"

The woman immediately got up from her sleep and took a sitting position.

The lazy man simply rubbed Lin's hair loosely on his back. The other hand he placed behind his head, his eyes closed and seemed uninterested in serious talking.

"What's the matter, Lin?"

Lin turned to the man lying down. "Nate. We have to ask my father for his blessing."
