As Marcus finished telling the story, Lin was glued to his seat.
"So, Nate gave me his blood? But how can it be?"
"As I explained earlier, Madam. The V can give blood to others. Although we can't produce a creation like the Masters, but the blood of a V can help speed up a person's recovery."
The cold man stared at the bedroom door that was still open.
"Master has helped those who are sick several times, by mixing a small amount of blood in the person's transfusion bag. Only, this time he gave his blood directly to you without mixing it first with human blood."
"How far does it go for Nate?"
Marcus shook his head.
"I don't know how many bags you've been given, Madam. But looking at his condition, it looks like he has given his whole blood to you."
The woman froze hearing Marcus' words. Nate has pumped out all his blood to give to him? What will happen to her husband then?
"I can only be grateful to see that Mr. has consumed all the blood bags he stored in the refrigerator. But the effect of his 'eat' will only be seen as soon as Master finishes hibernating."
The woman's head bowed as she asked back in a soft voice.
"How long will he wake up?"
"All I know is, sir has consumed 7 bags stored in the closet. Usually, it will take 6-7 days to hibernate. But problem..."
The man fell silent and his face looked worried as before.
"The problem is, Master has lost a lot of blood at this time and it happened before he went through his hibernation after 'eating'. This left his body not in top shape and much weaker than usual. It was even very weak when I saw the situation earlier."
"But we can still give Nate a blood transfusion, right?"
Lin didn't want to give up just yet. She will try anything that can help her husband recover faster.
His hope floated far away when he saw Marcus's head shaking slowly. The man was seen still looking at the room, where his boss was asleep.
"We can't give a blood transfusion or anything to a Hibernating V. If you had a chance to hold Master, the condition of his body in a static situation. Because in the recovery period, the body's protective system works optimally. This makes the entire surface of his body hard."
Lin's two eyes glazed over as he looked at Marcus.
"Approximate, Mr. Marcus. How long do you expect Nate to recover, and wake up from his hibernation sleep?"
Marcus turned his head to Lin. Both of the men's eyes looked teary, just like the woman.
"To be honest, I don't know at all, ma'am. I once knew a V who had been drained of his blood, never to wake up again from his sleep until his age was up. He died while he was unconscious."
The cold man finally could not hold himself back anymore. His two eyes shamelessly flowed tears in front of the woman.
"I cannot answer when you will wake up, or if you will ever wake up again from a long sleep. Because I don't know at all, Madam."
Lin's world at that moment felt crumbling at his feet. She never imagined, would ever live in a world without her husband by her side.
The woman fainted.
Almost 6 months later.
Lin was in his cubic area. The woman seemed to be calmly tidying up the items she was about to bring back home.
Today was his last day working at the company and this afternoon, his colleagues had made a simple farewell party for him. Remembering that made Lin smile.
Although not for long, it turned out that he had established and had a fairly pleasant circle of association here.
"Iina."
The greeting made Lin turn his head. Sir Robert walked up to him. The man had packed his briefcase, ready to go home.
The middle-aged man extended his hand at Lin and smiled.
"Thank you so much Alina, for your hard work. I would have lost a competent employee like you."
Hearing that, Lin chuckled.
"You said as if you would never see me again, Mr. Robertus. What about my current profession as a freelance consultant for the company?"
His former boss laughed crisply.
"You're right. But still, working in the same team by working as a team, will certainly give a different feel." The man looks sad.
Smiling understandably, Lin greeted the middle-aged man's hand tightly.
"Whatever my profession will be, Mr. Robertus. I will still consider NAMAC Inc. as my family, until then."
After that, the middle-aged man said goodbye to go home and left the woman alone in her cubicle.
Sighing, Lin looked around the darkened room. His eyes looked a little sad, when he remembered that he would never return to the room he had occupied for almost 4 years.
Satisfied with having cleaned his former work desk, Lin moved out of the room with only a small box in his hand.
He was about to step into the elevator when he heard Lucy's call.
"Lin!"
"Hi, Luce. Come inside."
Seeing the elevator button that leads up, Lucy was reluctant to enter.
"You want to go upstairs?"
"I want to say goodbye to Mr. Marcus. You want to go up?"
Smiling, Lucy shook her head.
"Better not to. I just want to say goodbye to you, Lin."
The woman hugged Lin's body, slightly pressing on her already bloated stomach.
Chuckling, Lucy rubbed the stomach of her enlarged friend.
"When was the birth plan?"
"Two weeks away." Lin answered while smiling.
Lucy walked backwards, exiting the open elevator.
"In that case, may the birth process go smoothly."
"Thank you, Luce."
Lin slowly pressed the button that led him to the 60th floor.
"Oh yeah, Lin." Lucy suddenly held the door of the moving elevator shut with her hand.
Lin's head, which had been bowed, looked back to see his friend.
"Greetings to your husband, and may he recover quickly from his illness."
Lin smiled at the words of his sincere-sounding friend.
"See you later, Lin. And thank you for being my friend all along. You're the one who made me realize how much Scott means to me in my life."
Lucy's words made Lin come forward and hug the woman. Entering back into the elevator, Lin smiled and waved his hand. The elevator door finally closed, leaving Lucy still behind and staring at the tightly shut door.
The woman breathed deeply. After waiting for a while, he finally pressed the button to go down.
Entering the empty elevator, Lucy leaned her body against the elevator wall. The woman felt sorry for her friend.
Lin decided to resign from her job because she was going to give birth while her husband himself was seriously ill, making him have to go abroad for treatment.
Given the face of the handsome man who became her friend's husband, Lucy still could not believe that the fit looking man could get very sick. But reflecting on the events of the first time in the elevator waiting room, making Lucy think again about the identity of the man.
It was impossible for Lin's husband to be the owner of the company if the man was seriously ill at the moment. Because in reality, the company continues to run as usual without any issues. Nothing has changed from this routine.
In fact, Marcus looked mediocre when Lucy saw him a few days ago. If indeed Lin's husband was that important to Marcus, naturally the man would look panicked and unsettled at this moment. Maybe Lin's husband was an important person, but not as important as that for the company.
It could have been, he had misheard Marcus calling him 'Master'.
Lucy took her breath in.
As Lin said before, he should indeed start forgetting his obsession about the owner of this company. It seems unlikely that someone named N. Axelle is in the world. Maybe the name is just a myth made by the company alone.
He was just waking up from his daydream when his phone rang.
"Hello. Yep. I'm downstairs. We met in the lobby, yeah. I'll see you."
Smiling, Lucy hung up her phone. He rushed out of the elevator as soon as the door opened wide.
The woman ran a little towards the lobby. And when he saw the figure waiting for him, he waved his hand cheerfully.
"Snick!"
The man she called turned around and smiled very widely. The two hugged in the empty lobby.
Hugging Lucy's shoulder, Nick asked as he led the woman towards the parking area.
"Tomorrow so watch Scott's game? I promised to bring him a football shirt."
Lucy's head nodded and the woman wrapped her arms around Nick's waist.
"Tomorrow we shall depart from my house. You want?"
"Of course, baby. I'll stay with you tonight."
Nick kisses Lucy's lips quickly and the two smile into the man's car.
Meanwhile on the 60th floor, Marcus seemed to welcome Lin from inside the elevator.
"You're late, Madam." Wiggle the cold man.
"Don't be too angry, Mr. Marcus. I had to say goodbye to Mr. Robert and Lucy."
Marcus looked at Lin who seemed to be casually directing himself towards the top floor of the building, towards the helipad runway of the building. The man shook his head, feeling sorry for his superior who had to face this woman every day.
"Oh yes, Mr. Marcus. What about the preparation I asked you for a while ago?"
"You take it easy, madam. I have prepared everything. Later, I'll take you to the hospital myself. I've also assigned one of the trusted doctors there to deal directly with you."
The woman's tiny head nodded. Smile on his face.
"I'm very grateful for your help all along, Mr. Marcus. Without you, I don't know how I got through it."
This time, Marcus who was seen shaking his head. The man's expression looked flat.
"Never feel sorry for me, ma'am. You are the wife of the Master. Of course I will also serve you, as I have served you all along."
Both of Lin's eyes were slightly foggy hearing that. He turned his head and looked at the helicopter that was ready to take him away.
"Nate would have loved to hear your words, Mr. Marcus. Then, excuse me first. Good night."
Lin slightly lowered his head at Marcus, and steadily stepped closer to the helicopter that was about to take him home.
Arriving at the penthouse, the woman did not turn on the lights in the living room, but went straight to her bedroom.
Entering her room, Lin was able to see the figure of her husband who was sleeping quietly there. He only turned on the dim lights in this room every time he left his house.
The woman turned on the main light of her room, making the bedroom brightly lit. Slowly, he closed the curtains to cover the large window in the room.
He went straight into the bathroom and cleaned himself up. Not long after, the woman came back out and sat down on the dressing chair that was in the room. She untied her hair and began to slowly comb her hair.
Satisfied with her appearance, the woman walked slowly to her bed and entered the blanket. She placed her hand on the still silent hand of her husband.
Increasingly shuffled, Lin pressed her body against her husband's body and clenched tightly onto the man's chest field. His distended stomach slightly blocked his movement.
"How are you today, baby? Today is my last day working at your place. From tomorrow on, I'll be unemployed and you'll be in charge of my life."
Chuckling softly, the woman's hand lifted to rub the man's cheek. His mouth slowly stopped as he realized something.
Holding onto one of her hands, Lin observed more details of her husband's body.
The man's skin color was not as pale as usual. Veins that were dark gray look fade to light gray. The man's lips, which had been purplish in color, slowly began to return to their original color.
And what surprised the woman the most was her husband's body temperature, which felt warmer than last night. The temperature is almost near normal.
Although there was beginning to be hope, but Lin never knew at all when her husband would wake up this time. This made his heart feel pain.
Holding her husband's cheek, the woman looked at her husband's handsome face in a fixed manner. Both of his eyes shed tears.
Gently, Lin kissed Nate's stiff lips and still felt cold. She continued to kiss the man's eyes, and put her lips long enough on his forehead. Her tears fell onto one of the cheeks of the still-silent man.
Lin's fingers stroked her husband's thick eyebrows, and slightly tugged at him.
"When do you want to fall asleep, baby? Don't you want to see our child born?"
Realizing that her husband would not wake up, the woman again touched Nate's nose.
"You don't want to hear me say love to you?"
She laid her body next to her husband.
His lips approached Nate's ears and blew them out slowly.
"I miss you, Nate. Are you sure you don't want me to rape again?" she whispered seduce.
Lin's arms increasingly hugged her husband's chest, and the woman lowered her head on her husband's stiff neck. A little bit of stuffing from his mouth.
"Wake, Nate. Awake please. I need you."
The woman's fingers squeezed her husband's sleeping t-shirt desperately.
"You gotta get up, baby. Because I love you so much."
That night, Lin went back to sleep hugging her husband's body tightly. Just like the nights before.
