When saying goodbye, Nate realized that the clock had shown the time at 23.00.
Seeing the look on Lin's face that looked tired, the man finally asked for the woman's access card. He decided to go straight into his room without disturbing his sleep.
The two kissed again, before the man closed the apartment door and told the woman to go straight to sleep.
In the hallway, the man glanced at Dominic's tightly shut apartment door. He would press the doorbell when his phone rang again.
"Yes Marc. I'll be right down."
Looking back at the closed door, Nate decided to talk to the man when he came back.
Immediately, he stepped into the elevator to meet Marcus who had been waiting for him below.
Arriving in the car, Marcus notices his boss's clothes look messy and unkempt.
When it came yesterday, Nate's clothes looked very neat and dapper. But now, the man was wearing a suit outside his half-opened shirt, revealing part of his muscular chest.
His assistant noticed that some of his shirt buttons had been removed and some were hanging pitifully on the cloth.
But strangely, his superior aura looked extremely bright and happy. It's a lot different than yesterday.
Start driving his car out of the apartment area, with Marcus slowly asking.
"Your show was last night, sir?"
The question from his assistant made Nate laugh out loud, making Marcus stare at his supervisor from the rearview mirror in astonishment. For a very long time he had never heard his boss laugh so loosely like that.
Still laughing, Nate patted his assistant's shoulder quite tight.
"Certainly Marc. Last night was so great. Thanks for asking."
With a big smile still on his face, the man turned his gaze outside the car window. He really feels very happy right now.
Still turning his gaze back to the rearview mirror, the cold man again said.
"You should have just asked me to take your clothes, Sir. So you don't have to bother to go back to the penthouse this fast."
He saw his boss shaking his head slowly. Still smiling and looking out the window, the man said softly.
"No Marc. I really need to get back home. There's something important I have to take myself there. You'll wait a minute, won't you?"
Nate finally turned his gaze to Marcus and stared back at him.
Marcus' head nodded stiffly. "certainly Mr. No problem."
In no time, Marcus had parked his car in the basement of Nate's penthouse.
In a hurry, the man got out of the car and had a message to his assistant.
"Wait a minute, Marc. I'll be right back."
Marcus who was still in the car slightly shook his head. This was his first time seeing his boss looking so impatient and rushed.
Usually Nate is very patient in doing things, and will take advantage of his time to wait. But now, his superior was even seen running around a small elevator that would lead him straight to the man's penthouse.
Arriving at his penthouse, Nate went straight to the bedroom and opened his closet.
After searching for a moment, he found the thing he was looking for.
Smiling, Nate opened the small box he was holding and a look of satisfaction adorned the look on his face.
Immediately pocketing it carefully in his pants pocket, he replaced his broken shirt with casual clothes from his closet.
Quickly, the man also prepared some change of clothes and also work clothes that he would wear tomorrow morning.
Carrying his duffel bag, Nate paused for a moment at the door and looked around his spacious bedroom.
A wide smile slowly appeared on his handsome face, in a moment he would not feel lonely anymore when he was in this large room.
He closed the door and ran back to catch up with Marcus, who was waiting in his car.
The clock was already showing at 01.30am, when Nate who was stepping in the hallway of Lin's apartment heard the open door from one of the rooms.
His steps came to a halt, when he saw the red-haired man standing up to greet him.
The two looked at each other in silence. Dominic's eyes seemed to twitch as he looked at his best friend who was seen carrying a clothes bag on one of his shoulders.
"Nathanael. Can we talk to you for a second?"
Dominic finally voiced his thoughts. His voice sounded a little choked.
Nate nodded slowly. He also planned to talk to the man.
Without a sound, the two men entered Dominic's residence and the door closed quietly behind them.
Entering Dominic's apartment, Nate becomes reminded of what he did a few days ago to his friend. The current condition of the room looked neat, and did not appear any traces of their previous fights.
Inwardly, he felt guilty for not giving the man the opportunity to speak and explain. But what to say, grudges and heartache for hundreds of years is not easy to forget and forgive just like that.
"Sit down, Nate."
Slowly, Nate put his bag on the floor and he sat on one of the sofas there.
Dominic is seen standing at the pantry table and preparing something.
Not long after, the host returned and placed a cup of warm green tea in front of his guests. The other cup, he put it right across from him.
"Drink first."
Nodding stiffly, the two men ended up sipping each other's tea.
Putting his cup on the table, it was finally Nate who first broke this silence.
"You remember my favorite, Dom."
The only friend he could be invited to drink green tea in his first union was Dominic. Both have the same hobbies and likes. There are even some women who have been assessed in adolescence turned out to be the same woman.
Although in the end they both married different women, but Dominic was more fortunate to be able to choose and have a woman he really loved.
Because even though he came from the nobility as well, but the man was not given a big burden as the successor of the Allard family. He still had brothers on him who could share the burden of that responsibility.
This is in contrast to Nate who is the only child in the Axelle family. He has absolutely no right to freely choose and own anything in his life.
Nate's words were piercing Dominic's heart, making him feel pain.
"Of course I remember, Nate. You are my only friend."
When he said that, Dominic's eyes looked down. Voice slowly.
Waving her eyes that were starting to heat up, Nate asked.
"Why did you do that, Dom?"
Unexpectedly, Dominic suddenly fell to his knees before the gray-eyed man. Both of his hands were on the floor and he lowered his head deeply on the man in front of him.
"If you can kill me, then kill me now, Nathanael! I really can't bear this burden of guilt anymore!"
Samar, there were sobs coming from the red-haired man. Nate could see her teardrops falling onto the wooden floor below.
The sitting man slowly got up and knelt in front of the weeping Dominic.
Slowly, Nate wrapped her hands around her friend's shoulders and hugged her tightly.
"I understand that, Dom. I already know everything. I forgive you."
Hearing the words of his best friend, Dominic firmly emphasized his two eyes that still shed tears on Nate's shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Nate. Ii'm sorry. I'm really sorry..."
A slashing sound came out from the usually cheerful man's mouth.
For a moment, time stopped for both. For a moment, the two of them tried to apologize and apologize to each other. The two attempt to forget the tragic events that have kept the close bond between them severed, for several hundred years.
When finally his emotions were calm, they were seen sitting back on the sofa with their respective positions.
Dominic's face still looks messy. The man is still trying to restore control of himself that was lost earlier.
"How do you know?" His voice sounded hoarse because he was crying.
Nate looked at his best friend as he sipped his tea slowly. He also needed a drink to relieve his sadness.
Dominic's eyes are breaking. "You mean, you met Master Laurent?"
The man in front of him nodded and placed his empty cup onto the table.
"Yes. Coincidentally, I met him. And he's kind enough to explain yourself."
At first glance, Nate told about things that Master Laurent had said, including about Otto who had received the appropriate punishment for his crimes.
Hearing Nate's story, Dominic nodded. He let out a breath of relief.
"I have to thank Master Laurent. Do you know where I can find him?"
"You can call Mr. Felixander if you want to see him."
Hearing the name, Dominic's eyebrows frowned and his lips cut.
"ah! Then, it means that Master Laurent is with him. I'm really lazy to meet that guy."
Both of Nate's eyebrows shot up. "What happened to Mr Felix?"
Downing the rest of his tea in a disrespectful manner, Dominic slammed his cup slightly on the table. Although noble, he does tend to be delinquent.
"He's asking for unreasonable pay, just because I asked for his help to find my own great-grandfather!"
"What did he ask for?"
Dominic's face suddenly seemed more paled at the question. He seemed to be trying to avoid seeing the man in front of him.
"What did he ask Dom?"
Nate's eyes squinted even more when his friend still did not want to answer. "Dom's?"
Dominic hid his face in both palms.
"He wants me to kiss him, Nate! He wanted to feel how it felt to be kissed by a V man! And it had to be me who did it."
For a moment, Nate seemed to freeze hearing that answer. But for a long time there was a loud laughter from his mouth.
The man laughed with a frown, making his eyes give off water.
It never occurred to her mind that a woman like Dominic would be asked to kiss a man.
Hearing the sound of a cup dipping from the direction of the sink, made Nate wake up and stop his laughter. He tries to control himself. His friend's face looked pouted.
"sorry. I was released."
Nate knew Dominic was very unhappy when he was required to do something he considered to be against his nature as a man.
"Then, what did you do in the end?"
Furious, the red-haired man was seen rubbing his cup with all his might while washing it.
"Of course I refused. I'd rather ask a human detective to find my family than do that disgusting thing!"
"Isn't Mr Felix from Master Laurent too?"
"That's exactly why I asked for his help. I guess he'll be more generous when asked for help by people who come from the same creator."
Chuckling, Nate again remembered that Felixander Osborne was indeed a man who could not be guessed at all. Sometimes he can provide help for free but at other times, many of his requests are strange and very unreasonable.
Unknowingly, Nate reached into his pants pocket and took out the small box he had brought from the house.
Nate opened it slowly and saw a clock-edged ring, with small diamond grains surrounding it. The ring, despite its age is very old but looks graceful and classic. Not at all outdated for the present.
"Isn't that Nate's family ring?"
Suddenly Dominic was already beside him and staring at the ring in Nate's hand.
Wrong behavior, Nate immediately closed the box and put it back in his pants pocket.
Smiling obliquely, the red-haired man sat down in front of Nate who still looked misbehaved.
"You want to propose to her?"
Pounding softly, the man in front of him nodded once. "Yes." Yeah."
Dominic crossed his arms around his chest and propped his legs up with the originals.
"I've never seen that ring worn by Coraline. Are-"
Dominic shut his mouth. The look on his face paled back when he realized the topic he was talking about.
Smiling faintly, Nate looked at the man in front of him who looked down.
"It's okay Dom. And it's true, I never gave Coraline this ring. So it's only natural that you haven't seen him wear this ring."
The information from Nate made Dominic raise his face. His eyes seem to ask.
"When my mother gave me this ring, I was going to give it to the woman I love. And if not, then I'll pass it on to my daughter."
Every time we talked about the issue of heredity, Nate's heart back hurt and sad. His eyebrows look deep.
But he remains grateful that he is still given the opportunity to meet the people he loves today.
The red-haired man fell back. "I'm sorry, Nate. Because I'm-"
"That's Dom. I decided I'd never bring it up again."
Looking at his watch, Nate realized that he had spent longer than he wanted.
"I have to go now."
The man immediately grabbed his bag lying on the floor.
While getting ready for the front door, Dominic suddenly asked a question.
"Are you really sure about that woman, Nate?"
Slowly, Nate turned her body around and looked at the man in front of her sharply.
"I've marked it, Dom."
Clearly implied a real threat from the man's short words. And instead of making the red-haired man afraid, Dominic instead smiled broadly displaying his rabbit teeth.
"I understand." Both hands raised, a sign of surrender.
Dominic's words made Nate mutter and nod stiffly. "Good."
The man turned back to face the door, preparing to open it.
But before Nate can get out of the apartment, a question from Dominic comes back.
"I'm curious. Is he human or not, Nate?"
One of the things that made Dominic interested in Lin was his unique smell, a mixture of V-scent and human smell. The man was interested in digging further about the woman.
Looking slightly, Nate answered coldly.
"No matter the race. Clearly, he is mine. And only mine."
After speaking those extremely possessive-sounding words, Nate walked out of the apartment, leaving Dominic with his mouth agape.
Just this time, the man saw his best friend was so possessive of something. He was so shocked.
Standing in that quiet passageway, Nate's heart pounded loudly. He was nervous but his heart was very happy. It was the first time, he boldly claimed over something.
This time the man could feel that he had something that was really his. And he feels he has a right to that thing in absolute terms.
Slowly, the man entered Lin's apartment using the woman's access card.
With a slow step, he opened Lin's room and saw the woman had fallen asleep soundly. This made the man's lips smile softly.
He slowly put his bag on the floor, and immediately changed his clothes.
The man then climbed onto the bed, and grabbed the woman's body into his arms. He inhaled the scent of his female hair deep and smelled her forehead.
Tidying up the blanket that covered the bodies of the two, without realizing it his eyes began to close and he followed his woman to go to dreamland.
