The father's expression made Lin frown.
"Dad know about Dominic?"
Johan leaned his body back into the chair. His body position looks stiff.
"If you're referring to Dominic Allard, I know exactly who he is."
"Dominic Allard? Allard?"
Suddenly Lin remembered about the business card he had given Nate first. He also remembered the man's sour face and violently threw the card at the table.
Could it be that Dominic and the owner of Allard Corp. were the same person? The woman's mind was full of questions now.
"Why are you asking about that, Lin?"
His father's voice broke Lin's daydream. The woman looked up and looked at her father's face which looked harsh and unfriendly.
"I wonder if it's true... Is it true that that man slaughtered Nate's family?"
Johan's hand squeezed tightly onto the handle of his chair. If only he had the strength, he would have beaten Dominic with his own hands even if he could not kill him outright.
"Yes. He's the man who massacred Nathanael and his family."
Lin's heart was pounding hard. The red-haired man revealed the truth.
"What's the reason?"
Johan's head shook stiffly. It is also a question of his own.
"Nobody knows for sure. After slaughtering Nathanael and his family, he suddenly disappeared and it is unknown how his fate."
This information made Lin frown. There is something a little strange about this story.
"Dad you mean, Dominic really disappeared after he committed that crime?"
"Yes. As far as Dad knew, even his family was looking for where the killer was. Because of his crimes, this tarnished the good name of the Allard family which is quite well-respected."
"What happened back then?"
Johan nodded slowly. "Dad doesn't know for sure. What was clear after the incident, the Allard family finally decided to move out of the city and evacuate. And I don't want to have any more contact with them, considering they don't even know where the guy is."
Too many things are still unclear in this story. But right now, he only wanted to know one thing first about Nate.
"Dad. Has Nate really intended to die?"
"really. All his life, the boy was intent on dying after his family. He hated me so much when he found out that he had changed and could not die as he wished anymore."
Trying to strengthen his heart, Lin asked back to his father.
"Dad. Does Nate love his wife so much? Did he really love his wife to the point of wanting to die?"
Lin's question made Johan's forehead wrinkle.
"What are you thinking, Lin? The boy wanted to die because he had lost his family all at once. How do you think he felt then?"
Lin's jealous heart made him less able to see reality.
"Did Nate really love his wife?" Lin's tone was a little high when he asked.
"Lin? Didn't you hear what Dad said? Throughout his life, Nathanael had no right to vote. He married his wife because it was his duty."
"But it could... It could have been, after they were newly married he loved the woman who was already the mother of his child."
The old man's head shook his head again, and his trousers looked firm. He was quite surprised to see his son who looked quite emotional at the moment.
"Know father no. When I saw them together, all I could see was a great respect for each other. There's nothing else. But-"
The old man took his body away from his son and smiled wisely, when finally realizing the reason for his daughter's strange behavior.
"Of course the only one who can answer him is Nathanael himself, Lin. And what have you felt for yourself after all this time with her."
The words from his father made Lin suddenly speechless. It seems Johan was quite successful in making him realize how ridiculous he was. He rubbed his face.
Lin breathed deeply. Trying to control the emotional side that often appears when it comes to Nate.
"Father's right. Ii'm sorry. I should have asked Nate this directly."
In my heart, Johan was happy. His daughter had already shown ownership to Nathanael. The boy finally wanted to claim it.
"Father's advice, rather than you struggling with questioning the past, you better try to see the present and the future."
Lin blinked his eyes and looked at his father's smiling face.
"If you want to ask, ask how that man feels about you right now. And does he want to spend his life with you later."
His father's words made the woman think. She tries to use her current logic and tries to get rid of her jealousy as a woman.
"Nathanel's past will remain a part of him. It can't be changed or removed. But the future, you can both decide and make your own."
His father's words seemed to make Lin limp.
Is correct. Whatever has happened in his past, will remain a part of Nate. He won't be able to change it.
If Nate had indeed loved his wife in the past, then Lin could only try to accept her with an airy heart.
All he could do was, how could the man now look at himself and only himself.
Lin's mouth revealed a small smile. He was a little embarrassed to have been childish before, considering his actual age was very mature.
"Thank you dad. I'm relieved to have spoken to you about this."
Johan pulled her daughter's head gently, and kissed her forehead affectionately.
Slowly the man pulled his mouth and he blinked when he remembered something.
A little bit away, he looked at his son again. His view is full of question marks.
"You haven't explained it yet, Lin. How do you know about Dominic Allard? It's been a long time."
Lin was breathing rough. He really didn't like that guy much.
"I just found out his name is Dominic Allard. He's my new neighbor, who occupies the room in front of my apartment." The woman begins her story.
"Dad! Dad why?"
Seeing her father in trouble, Lin started to panic.
Shaking, Johan's fingers pressed down on a bell that was beside his chair. Before long, Felix seemed to rush into the room.
The tall man immediately carried Johan into his room.
"Dad!"
Lin attempted to follow them, but the tall man blocked his steps.
"Better, you wait in the living room alone Miss Alina. I'll be right back."
After that, Felix closed the door behind him and the atmosphere was silent again.
What happened to his father?
A few moments later, the blonde-haired man came out of the room.
The woman instantly surged from her seat in a hurry.
"Mr Felix. How's dad?"
After closing the room door quietly, the man turned to face the woman in front of him with a faint smile.
"It's okay, just a little tired. Better, let him rest first."
A little fluttering, Lin asked back.
"Mr Felix. Actually, how long is dad?"
Felix looked at the frightened-looking woman. He finally told them to sit on the sofa again.
"Miss Alina. Master Johan only had less than 3 months. The thing that could prolong or shorten his life is his current psychic condition."
"Psychic condition?"
Nodding, Felix resumed.
"The more he feels stress, the more his physique will drop and shorten his age. Conversely, when he feels happy then his life span can at least still be slightly extended even if not long."
This information made Lin stare nanar at the two hands on his lap.
"If there is any request he can grant, then my advice. At least, he would feel very happy when he had to leave the world later."
Felix looked at this silent woman in front of him.
"Actually, what were you talking about? Never have I seen Master Johan look so shocked."
Frowning his forehead, Lin tried to hold back his tears. He also does not understand at all.
"Frankly, I don't understand either. We were discussing something and everything went well. But all of a sudden, dad felt short of breath and made me panic."
"He was sick after you said what, if I may know?" Felix asked carefully.
Lin held onto his painful forehead. He tried to remember the incident.
"If it's not wrong after I say about Dominic Allard."
Felix's eyes were a little puffed up to hear it. "Dominic Allard?"
Looking up from hearing that familiar-impressed tone, Lin asked.
"Do you know him?"
The man nodded. "Not personally. But I know enough about the man."
"Dad suddenly felt claustrophobic when he found out that the man was actually living in front of my apartment." Lin finally remembered the piece of persitiwa that had just happened.
Hearing this, Felix fell silent. The name Dominic Allard is quite interesting, because he has something to do with the man. He also met her some time ago.
Previously, he had only heard rumors about Dominic, while doing a fact-finding for his client. At that time, he did not care and only considered it news all the while ago. But today's events, interest Felix even further.
It seems, there are indeed things that need to be confirmed further. The news is still warm.
"Dominic Allard lives in front of your apartment?"
Breathing out, Lin looked at the tall man. "Yes. He just moved in a few days ago."
The woman hesitantly wanted to tell me more, but she wanted to try to dig a little from Felix.
"Do you know anything about him?"
The woman's large eyes radiated hope and curiosity to Felix, making the man smile faintly.
He actually wanted to help LIn in getting information, but the information related to the man he asked was quite confidential and he was bound by a very strong code of ethics.
Lin himself did not have the bargaining power to be able to make Felix reveal the truth indirectly, as he had done for Nate just yet.
In his heart, Felix regretted his current position.
"All I can say is that sometimes what we see is not the real reality. The best thing about getting a fact is to ask it directly to the source."
Felix's thoughtful words which were almost similar to his father's words, left Lin stunned. Does he have to ask them to know the truth?
After a long time Lin left, Felix was still sitting pensively on his couch. Slowly, the man opened the bedroom door, where Johan was lying.
Seeing that the old man had looked calm and did not seem to be awake for some time, Felix closed the door again and exited the room.
Arriving in the hallway, Felix directed his feet to one of the rooms located at the end. He knocked on the door slowly before entering the room.
Arriving at the room, he immediately faced a man of his age who looked at him blankly.
"Felix?" A deep and authoritative voice sounded from the man's mouth.
Smiling, Felix walked slowly towards the blind man.
"Master Laurent's. There's something I need to talk to you about."
