Madness
The Chapter 70

Night, day-H accident. Hours 18.30.

"Is that true, Nick?"

Nick's head nodded, hearing Tom's question. The two finally meet back at the office, after each gathering information from the outside.

"This case is frankly very strange. From the start of the victim who disappeared, and his name is not clear. Her name was Alina Johan or Alexandra Johanes. Not to mention his connection to a man named Nathanael or N. Axelle as owner of NAMAC Inc."

Nick grabbed her light brown hair.

"The names of the two women, Alina Johan or Alexandra Johanes, are nowhere to be found in our data. The woman seemed to suddenly appear and just disappear. What a strange case."

Slightly frustrated, Nick is seen fiddling with the computer running in front of him.

"I also can't find any data related to Nathanael Axelle."

"Maybe. But I can find news about N. Axelle's."

"What did you find?"

"In the search engines, that person could be said to be one of the richest people in the world. In addition to the owners of NAMAC Inc., which is spread all over the world, the person is also a shareholder in several other lines of business. It also has an airport and private planes, as well as helicopters. Because of his power, no one can properly estimate his wealth."

Tom's eyes widened. "You sure, Nick?"

"Because you asked me like that Tom, I'm not sure anymore. This guy's life is really like in a novel."

"Others you find?"

"Only one thing is really strange about that person."

"What's that?"

"Nobody knows who that guy is. Whether he is a man or a woman, and how old he is. No one has ever seen N. The real Axelle, makes the name just a myth for most of its employees and business people."

"But the article you said earlier?"

"The article was written by one of the former employees of NAMAC Inc., but he himself never wanted to tell clearly who N. Axelle. He only wants to share information about the man's estimated wealth, because he previously held his financial statements."

Nick leaned his body languidly.

"It looks like the guy who met N. Axelle signed a special agreement not to tell him anything. And most importantly, the author of the article is currently in prison for corruption cases he has committed at the company. This makes the information he wrote becomes not too reliable."

Tom rubbed his forehead. The man looked dizzy at this moment.

"Why is it so complicated? I just want to know what the black-haired man's name is in order to contact him. Why has the information come this far?"

"But Tom, if it's a guy named N. Axelle or Nathanael Axelle, then you might be calmer."

Nick's smile looked wide, making Tom frown at him.

"You mean?"

"If he was the owner of NAMAC Inc., do you think he would let go of the man who had harmed his wife? If it were that rich, he could make Matthews' empire especially Dave Matthews' would collapse so easily."

A ray of hope from both eyes. He was just about to speak when the phone on his desk rang loudly.

"With Tom here."

Tom's relaxed tone slowly began to stiffen, making Nick stop staring at his computer screen and focus on watching his partner who was receiving a phone call.

"I understand. So, you're gonna send me the evidence now?"

Just as Tom finished speaking, one of the officers threw a thick enough document on his desk and passed away.

In a hurry, Tom opened the newly arrived document and his eyes immediately widened to see the contents inside.

Both of his hands trembled as he realized that this information he received would guarantee his career life as well as his later counterpart.

"good. I-i understand. I'll do it according to your wishes. Thank you so much for your help, Mr. Marcus."

Tom put the phone down slowly. The man looked at his inquisitive looking colleague across his desk.

"So that's Marcus?"

His partner nodded, his breathing slightly trembling. He was trying to calm himself down at this moment. Slowly, the man thrust out the documents he had read at a glance.

"What's this?"

Nick received the document and carefully read it one after another. At first his eyebrows looked wrinkled, and long ago his mouth opened wide. He finally looked up and looked at Tom who had the same expression as himself. Expression amazed.

"You got this from him?"

The man's head nodded. His eyes look sparkling.

The man in front of him looked at Tom curiously. "What did he ask for, Tom?"

"We are not at all offensive to anything related to the name N. Axelle or Nathanael Axelle. He also asked us not to bring up or ask anything more about the woman who was the victim."

Nick's eyes blinked quickly. How terrifying is the information network of a man named Marcus, until he can figure out their investigation in such detail?

"But if the request is like that, it's just corroborating"

"Right, but also not true at the same time. We have absolutely no evidence whatsoever of the person's name, other than the assumptions and bits of information we get from others. No information is truly valid and comes directly from the source."

Nick's head nodded. He went back to looking at one of the documents in his hand.

"Marcus' demands on Matthews were limited to the company's demands for job protection against its employees. Not at all offensive to anything that carries a personal name or anything."

Tom looked at Nick's eyes sitting in confusion before him.

"What do you think, Nick?"

His partner breathed deeply. He slammed the thick document into his desk and leaned his back against the chair behind him.

"Why are you asking me, Tom? I think the answer is obvious."

There was a big grin from Tom's mouth. The man reached out to his partner.

"Then we have a deal?"

Smiling, Nick welcomed the hand.

"agreed. Anyway, investigate about N. Axelle or whatever it is, it won't benefit us as police officers. We're just going to investigate something, if it helps the case we're working on, right?"

"That's fine. You really are my partner, Nick."

At the same time, Nate receives a call from Marcus telling him that his boss doesn't have to worry about the man who has harmed his wife. His assistant has cleared up the matter and confirmed that the impactor will get the most severe punishment.

Thanking his dependable assistant, Nate refocused himself on pumping his blood into the bag. This was the third time the man had done so, and he began to feel weak and dizzy.

Out of the bathroom, the man replaced his wife's transfusion bag with a new one. He also consumed another bag of blood he had taken in the bathroom earlier.

After throwing the empty bag into the trash, Nate went back to check his wife's lower body and saw that Lin's bleeding was getting more and more stopped. The man changed his wife's towel again with a clean towel.

Slowly, Nate cleaned the remnants of blood from his bedroom and brought dirty towels to the laundry room to wash. He did not want his wife to wake up with the condition of the bedroom that smelled rancid and dirty.

Just as Nate tuned his washing machine to move automatically, the man's body suddenly whipped and slammed quite violently in the laundry room.

Staring at the ceiling of the cold laundry room floor, the man recalled his past when he was first transformed by Johan. Just then, he was also lying on the cold floor and staring at the ceiling above him.

He felt the same despair as he felt at the time. The difference is, at that time he wanted to die because he could not save his family. But now, Nate is struggling to live in order to save his wife and child.

The man felt that he still had hope.

The thought made Nate force herself to wake up. Teetering and holding on to the wall, the man dragged his body back to the bedroom.

Early morning, H+1 after accident. Hours 02.45.

Slowly but surely, Nate could feel the gall in both of his legs that were beginning to numb. Without his desire, both of his legs moved docked and in a straight position.

Gasping for breath, the man's head turned to his wife.

"Li-lin's. Nothin. Don't..."

The longer it took, the harder it was to speak.

The man began to feel the gelenyar move up towards his cell*ngk*nganngan and quickly towards his waist.

Although he tried to hold it, but both hands moved on their own and formed a folding position both on the stomach with the hand wearing the ring was on top.

He began to feel his heartbeat slowing down drastically, and Nate was still trying to turn his head to Lin who was beside him.

"Came on..."

His neck stiffened, revealing his protruding neck veins as the man was forced to look up and turn his face away from his wife.

Nate felt a tingling sensation that was very moving from the direction of his cheeks and also his crown, towards the middle of his face.

Both of his eyes flipped upwards, revealing the white side of his eyeball which slowly closed. The teeth in his mouth were automatically docked, and his mouth closed. He could no longer speak and see. His consciousness disappeared for a long time.

The man had already entered his hibernation.

Lin's. Ilove you. You must survive. You have to survive, baby.
