Madness
Chapter 79's

"I've done what you asked, Lin. And I don't actually like it. You should be punished. So, go up now or you'll receive the consequences later at home."

Closing his phone call, Nate moved from his chair to the refrigerator in the room. He took out a bottle of quality wine and two tall glasses from the glass cabinet.

He was still arranging the glasses, when a knock came from his door.

The man immediately opened the door and saw the figure of his wife who was carrying his daughter.

"Hello, baby."

Nate kissed his wife softly, and immediately grabbed Nat who seemed to be getting sleepy in his arms. He held his son carefully in his arms.

Lin walked into the room and closed the door. She followed her husband who was walking towards the sofa in the room.

After arranging his son's sleeping position on the soft sofa, Nate opened the wine bottle and poured the contents into the high glasses he had brought. He handed one of them to his wife, who was seen sitting on the back of the sofa and straightening her legs on the carpet.

"Thank you." Lin smiled as he received the wine glass.

Clinking their glasses, the two began to sip on the delicious wine while enjoying the sunset view.

The positions of the two stuck together, and one of her husband's hands rubbed Lin's shoulders.

"How was your meeting with Robertus and the team?"

"walking smoothly. There's no problem. There's only one more meeting left, and all the work on this project will be done soon."

Her husband nodded and went back to sipping his wine slowly.

Lin turned her head and looked at her husband's face which looked straight ahead.

"If you are alone? How was your meeting with Mr Marcus?"

Looking slightly upset, Nate downed his wine and placed his empty glass on the carpet.

"He agreed to it." He still did not look at his wife.

"Sir Marcus wants to go straight?"

Her husband's head nodded. Both of his eyebrows furrowed deeply.

"What makes you mad, Nate?"

The man seemed to shake his head and more tightly embraced his wife's shoulder.

"I'm not angry, just don't like it. Marcus immediately agreed to break away from me because of Nat, when he used to look angry when I told him to go and find his own way of life."

His wife chuckled softly when she realized her husband's jealousy.

"Are you jealous, my husband?"

Nate turned to his wife and her lips wrinkled.

"I'm not jealous. I just don't like it. He means not a consistent man, Lin."

His wife rubbed her husband's cheeks slowly and smiled gently.

"For me, it just shows that she loves our daughter very much."

Hearing the words of his wife, Nate turned his face back and his free hand was massaged.

"You got a headache?"

Lin was a little worried when she saw her husband starting to massage his head. Last year's events still left a trauma for the woman.

Realizing what he was doing, Nate turned his head and kissed his wife's forehead.

"No, hon. Ii'm sorry. I'm doing fine. Just this Marcus thing, it gives me a little headache."

"One day, we must let go of our daughter, Nate. In the next few years, our child will determine his own life path and as a parent, we can only support him from behind."

Her husband was silent to his wife's words. He also stared at the scene in front of him that reflected the dark shadows around them. The lights in the building around them started to turn on.

"But I'm not ready, Lin. I'm not ready to let go of our little princess."

The frightened-sounding words of her husband finally made Lin shuffle and climb onto her husband's lap. Both of the man's hands held the hips of his wife who was sitting on him.

His wife's face was dark because of the reflection of the light behind him, but Nate could see it clearly through her heart. The man's hand stroked his wife's smooth, clean cheeks without make-up. Lin finally was confident to appear without the thick make-up she used to be.

"You're beautiful, Lin."

Smiling, Lin rubbed her husband's cheeks which began to darken because of his beard. The hair on the man's cheek grew quite quickly, but only this morning he shaved it.

"You're also handsome."

Both of her husband's eyebrows shot up, and her expression looked delighted.

"Oh yeah? You think I'm handsome?"

Raising her husband's head, Lin kissed her husband's lips with a smile.

"Of course you're handsome in my eyes because otherwise I would never want to be your wife."

Both of them chuckled slowly. The man's fingers sank in his wife's newly-detailed hair, and stroked her slowly.

"I like your hair."

"I like your eyebrows." Lin peed Nate's eyebrows.

"I like your nose." Her husband jerked Lin's tiny nose.

"I like your ears." His wife began to bite Nate's ears, making the man groan.

The woman kissed the tip of her husband's nose and stroked the man's chest slowly.

"We still have plenty of time, Nate. Our trip with Nat is still quite long. How about we just enjoy our lives with him, without having to worry about things that haven't happened yet?"

Exhaling slowly, Nate's hand rubbed his wife's back gently. He finally nodded.

"You're right. We still have 20 more years until that jerk comes and claims our daughter."

Her husband's grunts made Lin laugh. Nate has different sides.

"I'm serious, Lin. If Marcus comes, I'll really test him to see how serious he is to our daughter."

"Yes. Yep. Yep. I'm sure you'll do it, baby."

His wife hugged Nate's neck tightly, making her husband inevitably return his embrace with a smile.

The dark scene outside, made the light in Nate's room turn on automatically and illuminated the entire corner in the room.

Lin was finally able to see her husband's face clearly. The woman traced her husband's cheeks and stopped on his lips. Both her eyes were fixed on the eyes of her husband who was currently still light gray.

Slowly, he kissed the man. Lin also kissed both her closed eyes, and also her husband's nose which she liked so much. Lastly, he kissed Nate's open lips and slightly stroked her.

The woman finally put her face away and stroked her husband's thick hair. Her lips smiled very gently and looked at her husband lovingly.

"Nathanael Axelle's. I love you so much."

Not only because of the words, but the woman's feelings were channeled through their connections. This made Nate feel watered by the woman's overflowing feelings of love. His two teary eyes looked at his beautiful wife's face.

If the man were to die today and this very second, he would never feel regret. By now, he had felt an immense happiness, which could replace his gray days in his previous life.

"I love you a lot too, Alina Johan. You're the only woman I've ever loved in my life, and until I die."
