Madness

Madness
Chapter 30's

Nate had just returned from the bathroom and was sitting in his chair, when a knock rang out again. Looking up, he saw Marcus entering the room.

The cold man looked around the room.

"He's gone, Marc." Chuckling, Nate answered the unspoken question from his assistant.

His assistant only nodded once. Looks like their relationship is going well.

Not wanting to waste time, Marcus also immediately expressed the intention of his arrival.

"Sir, related to the incident this morning..."

"Sit down, Marc."

Nate asked his assistant to sit down first, when he saw that Marcus was still standing in front of him.

After his assistant sat down, Nate immediately took out a card he had obtained from Lin. He shoved it on Marcus on the table.

Frowning, Marcus swiftly took the card and read it.

Slowly, he looked back at his superior. Why is it a coincidence like this?

"Is this what you want to talk about?"

Marcus put the card back on the table and nodded briefly.

"Yes. Part."

His superior again took the card in front of him and twirled it around in his hand.

"Otherwise?"

"So I got a call from Donald, who said that the representatives from them wanted to meet me."

"What's your answer?"

"I asked Don to represent, and investigate who owns Allard Corp."

The man in front of him nodded his head. Nate then turned his head to the side, to the elongated window in the room. His eyes look empty.

"What do you think, Sir?" Marcus asked to know.

Glancing at his assistant, Nate instead asked grimly, "What about you, Marc? What's on your mind?"

Marcus sounded like he was breathing quite rough.

"I can only hope that my estimates are wrong, sir. We don't need any such problems at all, for now and beyond."

Nate clenched one of his hands on the table. His jaw looked hard. He threw the card into the trash, after squeezing it into a small ball.

"I hope so too, Marc. Not when I'm just about to start stepping back."

The answer the man in front of him made Marcus quite surprised. Finally after a long time, Nate seemed to have a purpose to live again.

Marcus nodded his head. He should resolve this matter as soon as possible.

"You don't worry, sir. I'll get this thing done soon."

"I'm counting on you, Marc."

Both are silent. Nate's gaze still led to the window beside him.

"When will Donald meet them?" Finally Nate returned to voice.

"I request that his meeting be expedited to tomorrow."

"Good." The sooner they know this additional information, the better.

Nate looked back at the man in front of him.

"Marc. Lin and I will meet with Master Johan tomorrow night."

After a short pause, Marcus finally responded. "Miss Alina is ready?"

"He agrees, Marc."

Marcus nodded and slightly lowered his gaze.

"I'm sorry, Marc. Looks like I haven't been able to take you to meet the old man. I'll have Mr. Felix set a time for another meeting."

"I understand, Sir."

Of course he understands. The problem between her boss and Miss Alina is far more important to resolve than her desire to meet her creator.

The two men fell silent again. Each one is busy with his own thoughts.

"May I ask something of a personal nature, sir?"

Marcus' hoarse voice finally broke the silence.

"Of course, Marc. If I could, I would answer."

Marcus looked his superior in the eyes. He was really curious about this one thing, especially had he had seen a scene that was never suspected at all.

"How has your relationship with Miss Alina progressed?"

Hearing that question, a faint smile slowly rose on Nate's lips.

That resolute reply left Marcus speechless. His eyes are a little bigger.

"Are you sure, Sir?"

"Have you ever doubted my decision, Marcus?"

His superior looks at him with a very calm look. The view he always saw before they went to war first.

Stiff, Marcus shook his head. "Not once, sir."

"Then, never doubt my decision on this one."

Both of them looked in silence. They have been in a very strong relationship between superiors all this time. Marcus believes that his boss has made the right decision.

"Good Sir. I understand."

"When I've marked it, please treat Lin the same way you've treated me all along, Marc."

The cold man smiled very faintly. "Of course, sir."

"Thank you very much, Marc."

The two men had been together for several hundred years, making each able to understand each other without having to talk too much.

The next day, Lin had just finished taking out the trash in the basement and was about to break into his apartment again when he heard a fairly unfamiliar greeting.

"Good morning."

When he turned his head, Lin saw a man he had met for the first time standing at the door, right across from his apartment.

"Good morning."

The woman tried to return her greeting politely, and would go straight in when the man again said something that brought Lin's steps to a halt.

"introduce. I'm your new neighbor."

Lin was actually quite upset by this man's attitude, which didn't seem sensitive enough to be able to catch that, the woman in front of him actually didn't like to mince words with unknown people.

Trying to set his expression to remain neutral, Lin turned back.

"Welcome, then." Said Lin while smiling stiffly.

Unexpectedly, the man in front of him was seen smiling very widely. It has an array of rabbit teeth, with two canine teeth that are quite visible. This actually makes the man's smile look alluring to others.

Trying to return her smile politely enough, Lin noticed that this man in front of her had a posture that was almost similar to Nate's, although he seemed to be slightly shorter than the man who was fulfilling his mind at the moment.

The man has a muscular looking body behind his long-sleeved fitting shirt. Her chest and biceps are seen forming. Typical of a guy who looks happy to exercise.

His short hair was red with a thin sideburn that adorned his chin. The man also has a pair of electric blue eyes that are quite hypnotic.

In general, he has a physical image that may be said to be handsome for other women. The problem was, it had no influence at all for Lin.

The only one that the woman thought was handsome was a black-haired and light-grey-eyed man. But of course, Lin would never admit it to the man.

The red-haired man observed the woman standing in front of him. From the beginning, this woman attracted her interest. He tries to display his best smile, which can usually captivate women.

"Can we get acquainted?"

Still with a sweet smile, the man reached out to the woman.

Lin noticed the man's hands and fingers that looked long and strong. For some reason, there was an uncomfortable feeling when looking at the man's hand.

Hesitating, Lin reached out a hand welcoming the hand that was waiting for it.

Looking relieved, the man clasped the hand of the woman in front of him tightly. He likes the woman's taste on the surface of his skin.

"What's your name?"

Lin's brows frowned slightly, he was quite dislikeful when the man suddenly became pretentious to himself. He tried to regulate his emotions which slowly began to rise to the surface.

"Iina." The woman answered stiffly.

Lin tried to pull his hand, but the man in front of him was still holding him back.

The woman really began to feel exhausted and prepared to take a step if the man began to try to do anything to her.

"elina. What a beautiful name. Can I call you 'Lin'?"

Hearing that question, made Lin pull her hand quite roughly.

"No. I hope you'll still call me by the name 'Alina'."

The very thin answer from the woman actually made the man in front of her smile on his side. The man felt a challenge. During his lifetime, he had never received any rejection from any woman.

Lin immediately turned around and opened the door of his apartment quickly.

Before he closed the door, Lin still had time to hear the man's last words.

"It's good to meet you, Alina. My name is Dominic."

After that, Lin slammed the door hard in front of the blue-eyed man's nose.

He really did not like the man he had just met.
