Madness
Chapter 69's

Daytime, day-H accident. Hours 12.30.

There was a middle-aged man walking in the lobby. His white-haired head was wailing in that spacious lobby room.

"Dad!"

The call turned the middle-aged man's head turned, and his face looked furious as he approached the young man who had called him earlier.

"You!"

The thick finger of the middle-aged man pointed at the young man in front of him, and unexpectedly gave a fairly strong ploy on his head.

"Ouch! What the hell! I've been visiting you, and you hit me instead?"

Roughly, his father pulled the young man towards the waiting sofa located in the corner of the lobby room. He threw his son's body rough on the sofa and stood around his waist in front of him.

"Bad boy! How long haven't you been home, huh? Your worried mother, even vented her anger at me! When are you going home?"

Nick rubbed his red forehead because of his father. His brows furrowed deeply and his mouth pouted.

"Dad. I've been 32 years. Is adult. It's only natural that I rarely visit your homes, right? I'm busy in the office, too."

Again, his father nudged his son in the same spot, making Nick scream again.

"If you're married, we won't make any noise. But you're still this single and that's why we can't take it!"

Nick's eyes are a little watery. Tell her dad really hard, make that guy's forehead probably going bump tomorrow.

"Dad, please! I'm here on assignment, and I'd like to ask you a favor!"

Hearing his son's voice sounding like a police officer, his father finally sat down next to his son.

It appears Nick took out a colored photograph and thrust it into his father.

"Dad, this is Marcus the guy I used to tell you about, right?"

The middle-aged man looked at the photo in his hand and nodded. "really. This is Mr. Marcus."

His eyebrows look wrinkled. "Who's this guy next to him, Nick?"

His son breathed out slowly. His face looks a little frustrated.

"So, you don't recognize him either? I thought you knew the man's identity."

His father's head shook slowly. "What are you doing finding out about this, Nick?"

"So morning there was an accident near here. We're looking for the parties involved to make a complaint."

"Yes. I know there was an accident in the area. Do you know the victim? Frankly, I'm also worried right now. One of the father's employees hadn't arrived until now, and his phone couldn't be reached. I'm afraid he's been a victim in that accident."

"Oh? What's name?"

"Alina Johan."

Nick looks through his notebook, and the man's head shakes.

"There's no victim named Alina Johan here."

His father breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh, thank goodness then."

Nick took the photo from his father's hand and heaped it on some other photos from his notebook. There is a picture of a car in one of them.

"Wait."

Nick's head turned to his father. "Hmm?"

"Can you see those pictures, Nick? The picture of that shaggy car."

Surprised, his son also handed over five photos he obtained from traffic CCTV cameras some time ago.

His father turned over some of the photos, and his face looked pale.

"Dad?"

"It... It's Alina's car."

His father's trembling ears pointed at the shoddy car, making Nick's forehead wrinkle deeply.

"Dad sure?"

"Dad sure, Nick. We went together on duty out of town at the time, and Alina took her own car. I remember, because the car was so tiny and the woman loved the car so much."

"But this car..."

Quickly, Nick checked his notes back.

"This car is not listed as Alina Johan's car. The car was registered as Alexandra Johanes, and she lived in another city. It's possible he was the victim of this accident, because his body has not been found at the scene at all."

"Oh God..."

The middle-aged man was stunned at his seat. He was really worried about Alina who he already considered like his own child. Moreover, the woman was young pregnant at this time.

"Didn't he really find his body in that car, Nick?"

"It wasn't found, but Marcus and the stranger were the ones who took the victim's body somewhere. Therefore, I was looking for the identity of that man, father. Maybe, I should meet with Marcus now."

His father shook slowly. "Freely you came today, Nick. Mr. Marcus doesn't seem to be in the office at all right now."

"He didn't come to the office?"

"So, he did go to the office and I saw him call the airport. But Mr. Marcus went straight away again, and it looks like he's going out of the country. I don't know where."

"Commissive? As soon as this accident?"

Nick's forehead is really wrinkled deep. This is so weird. Everything is so weird.

The young man glanced at the look on his father's face that looked worried at this moment.

"Dad really worried about that woman huh?"

"How come you're not worried, Nick? Alina is pregnant at this time. What if something happens later?"

"What!?"

This new information makes Nick's point of view change.

The young man looked back at one of the photos showing the stranger holding the victim. Apparently, the man was also very angry when he grabbed Dave and was seen almost hitting him in another photo.

"Dad. Do you think this man is the husband of Alina Johan?"

Suddenly his father called out to someone who had just walked into the company lobby.

Nick saw a beautiful woman with dark brown hair and green eyes approaching their chair. His gaze was slightly fixed on the figure of the woman.

"Good day, Mr. Robertus."

"Good day, Lucy. Tumben you're late?"

"Yes. I had to take Scott first. There's little need there."

Scott's? Who'sis that? Benak Nick wondered without realizing it.

The middle-aged man nodded his head and only regained his senses when he saw his son observing the newly arrived woman closely.

"Oh Lucy's. Meet this, Nick. He's my son and also a detective."

The two shake hands together. "Good day, Mr. Nick."

"Call me Nick." The man slightly squeezed his grip on the woman.

Faulty, Lucy took off her grip and turned to Mr. Robertus.

"What did you call me?"

"Sit down, Lucy."

Mr. Robertus directed Lucy to sit on one of the single sofas there.

"Nick's. Lucy is a good friend of Alina's. You can ask her if you want to."

Finally the young man understood why his father had called the woman.

He also explained a little about his purpose, and then showed some photos to the woman.

Lucy frowned when she looked at the photos in her hands.

"Hows it? Do you recognize anything?"

Stiff, Lucy nodded her head. His expression looked anxious at this moment.

"This is Lin's car, my friend. Do you know how he is?"

Feeling bad, Nick shook his head.

"Sorry, but we really don't know. As for the man holding your friend, do you recognize him?"

Lucy's breath was a little sharp when she remembered the figure of the handsome man she had been expecting first.

"Yes. This is Lin's husband."

The man's heart was overjoyed when he finally found a clue.

"What's his name?"

The hope of freefall saw the woman's head that shook slowly.

"I don't know his full name. Lin never told it."

"But do you know where her husband works? I desperately need that information right now."

Lucy fell silent and turned to Mr. Robertus who was sitting in front of her.

"I... I'm sorry, but Lin is very secretive about her personal life. I'd like to tell you, but..."

Mr. Robertus finally understood Lucy's awkwardness. The middle-aged man also rose from his seat, followed by Nick who looked bad.

"Then, I'll go upstairs first. Nick, we're waiting for you at home. Every once in a while, go home."

Smiling, Nick nodded. "I'm trying to get home this week."

His father smiled happily and patted his son's shoulder hard. He turned to Lucy.

"I'll excuse you."

"Sir Robertus. I'm sorry, but..."

"No need, Lucy. I also know the character of Alina. He wouldn't like it if I found out about his personal life behind him."

Lucy's head nodded. "Thank you for your understanding."

After being left alone, Nick again looked at the beautiful woman who was still silent.

"So, what can you not tell in front of others?"

Lucy let out her breath. He knew that this young man in front of him was slightly reprimanding himself.

"I'll just go straight. To be honest, I don't know much about Lin's personal life, as well as her husband's. But Lin once told me that her husband was one of the most important people in the company."

"One of the key people in this company?"

The beautiful woman nodded.

"I didn't believe it either, but I've seen Mr. Marcus who looks very respectful and protective of the man who makes me believe that what Lin tells me is true."

"Marcus respects that man? Isn't Marcus also one of the company's top brass?"

"really. Mr. Marcus is the second tallest man in the company. And he called the man 'Master'."

"Master? Are you sure?"

"I was also as skeptical as you were then. I heard it with my own ears. Mr. Marcus called the man 'Master'. In fact, Mr. Marcus and the man seemed to have the same age. Pretty weird, isn't it?"

Both of the woman's hands were folded neatly on her lap.

"But there was one thing I thought of, let alone when I realized Lin's husband's first name."

"What's that?" Nick is more curious now.

"The first name of Lin's husband is Nathanael or Nate. And the name of the owner of this company is N. Axelle if you've heard of."

Nick's eyeballs glared when he heard that familiar name. "Axcells? Excel?"

"A-X-E-L-I-E. Axelle, with a French accent." Lucy confirmed the man's pronunciation.

"The only thing I thought about was that Lin's husband was the owner of this company. And his full name is Nathanael Axelle."
