Madness

Madness
Chapter 38's

Returning to his apartment, Lin walked slowly in that desolate passageway. His meeting with his father and Felix made him even more curious.

His mind was full of questions and also plans that he would do later.

Sighing in his breath, Lin took out the access key from his bag and slightly turned to the closed door opposite him.

Weighing for a moment, Lin finally decided to approach the door. His hand trembled slightly as he directed his hand to squeeze the doorbell.

In his heart, he wondered, was his actions stupid? But his great curiosity, overcame his cowardly side.

He must know the truth immediately. If it can be soon.

Taking a deep breath, Lin finally steadily pressed the bell and waited.

Lin pressed him back after he waited for some time.

There was still no reaction, slowly, he brought his ear closer to the closed door. Trying to hear everything inside.

His forehead looked wrinkled as Lin distanced his body. There was no sound from inside.

Lin glanced at the circular watch in his right hand and saw that it was only 21:30. Not too late.

Is Dominic asleep?

Deciding to try once more, he pressed the bell one last time.

Convinced that the door would not open, Lin finally went into his own apartment.

He placed the bag underneath with the origin to the pantry table and went straight to the refrigerator looking for drinking water.

While drinking the water, he took out the phone from his bag and simultaneously, an incoming message notification appeared. Message from Nate.

'Lin. How are you today?'

Lin's gaze was a little blurry as he read the messages he had been waiting for all day.

Slowly, he turned off his phone and directed his steps into the bedroom.

After cleaning his body and wearing comfortable clothes, he picked up his laptop and sat on the bed.

Lin was just about to start his work, as he glanced back at his cell phone lying by his side dead.

No. gabe. He will not be subjected to the man's seduction again. Right now, he wanted to punish the man first in order for him to feel what he felt yesterday.

Lin was quite hurt by Nate's behavior yesterday. Without any explanation, the man simply left her in a confused state.

His hand reached into his pillow and pulled out something.

The woman hugged the thing and smelled its scent deep. Hugging her for a moment, she finally wrapped her Nate sweater around her neck.

Already comfortable enough, Lin focused his concentration back on his laptop to finish his day-long delayed work.

Meanwhile, Nate who was sitting on his penthouse sofa looked uneasy.

The man knew Lin had read his chat but did not reply at all.

When he tried to send another message, he noticed that the message was not there. Nate suspected that Lin had turned off his phone.

Throwing the small object at the end of the sofa furiously, Nate got up from his seat and walked towards the window that stretched along the spacious room.

All day long, he could not concentrate on his work. Several times he was seen daydreaming, until Marcus slightly reprimanded him.

Just one day not meeting the woman, it turned out to make Nate's feelings become chaotic especially because he knew he had done wrong to Lin yesterday.

Putting his hands in his pants pocket, the man raised his head.

Right now, he really wanted to meet Lin, but on one hand, there was still a sense of fear in his heart. Did he dare to go further? What if he met that bastard again, what would he do later?

Nate really didn't want Lin to see the rough and ruthless side of him. What if he gets out of control later?

Not to mention the words of Johan that still loomed in his mind. Not yet a father-in-law, but the old man had managed to make Nate feel dizzy facing him.

His mind was currently agitated, and was making his head ache all day.

Nate finally turned around, and he unwittingly stared around the spacious room.

Just this time, he felt that he was living in a spacious place. He realized that his house was very large. But he's alone. No one else is a place to share with him.

That realization made Nate's heart melt. During this time, he spent his life alone. Without anybody.

Nate's breathing started faster. For some reason, he felt tightness in his chest. The man felt the emptiness in his heart growing bigger and bigger, eating away at his soul.

Lin's. I need you now...

The next morning, Lin again pressed Dominic's apartment doorbell and there was still no reaction from inside.

The woman begins to think that maybe her neighbor chose to move apartments because of the incident with Nate a few days ago.

This assumption inevitably made Lin a little sad. If the red-haired man had already left, then he would not be able to confirm the information he wanted to know.

In a doldrums, he steered his feet into the elevator and decided he would look for the man later after he returned to his apartment again.

Simultaneously as Lin's elevator walked down, the elevator door that was next to him opened slowly.

Nate was seen exiting the elevator wearing casual clothes. He intended to spend the day with Lin, and tried to talk about their relationship.

He plans to ask the woman to wait for a while until she feels ready to start a new relationship.

As he stepped out of the elevator, his nose faintly smelled the scent of the woman. The smell she missed so much these days.

With more excitement and heart palpitations, Nate stepped into Lin's apartment.

His heart felt disappointed when he did not get an answer from inside the apartment after pressing the doorbell many times.

Starting to get impatient, the man started knocking on the door quite hard. "Lin?"

Nate's palm pressed against the door leaf in front of him with a feeling of frustration. Why is it so hard to meet that woman? He misses her very much.

Sighing loudly, the man took the phone out of his pants and pressed down on the number he had memorized out of his head.

Upset listening to the same monotonous answer over and over again since last night, Nate rudely turned off her cell phone connection.

Frowning, Nate turned his gaze and looked at the door opposite Lin's apartment with a slight grit of his teeth.

He considered knocking on the door, but realized that it was possible that the man he was looking for would not be able to answer at this time.

Confused by what he was about to do, Nate was seen standing pecking in the middle of the hallway of the quiet apartment.

It was still early morning, and the whole plan that was in his brain was all in disarray.

Doldrumsily, the man pointed his feet back at the elevator. Maybe it's better if he goes back to the penthouse and enters the office.

At least his busyness will be a little can take his mind off the woman he misses so much at this time. That's hope.

"Sir, you better not be in the office."

Marcus' hoarse voice broke the silence in the quiet room. It sounded clear, that the cold man was trying to hold back his current emotions.

The cold man really felt annoyed at his superior. Just this time, he felt that way because only this time too, his boss did something that was indeed annoying.

His superior could not concentrate at all on the work that lay before his face.

When Marcus wants to discuss something, his boss responds with a vague answer. It was obvious that his mind was somewhere.

This makes Marcus' work 2x more. At the time he should be able to finish his work quickly, but became very hampered when his boss wanted to be involved.

"Master. I'll give you the final report to get approval from you. You better just go home now."

Nate leaned his back on the chair and let out a long sigh. He was rubbing his temples, which had been painful since yesterday.

"You're right. I'm really sorry Marc, for bothering you."

The man glanced back at his phone which showed absolutely no signs.

The drama has begun. The cold man in front of him thought and smiled inwardly.

Looking desperate, Nate flipped through the phone in her hand when she suddenly recalled something.

He turned his gaze to his assistant again who was then seen starting to clear the file on his desk. I can't wait to go back to her room.

"Oh yes, Marc. How's your case going with Allard Corp.?"

Marcus' eyebrows shot up when he heard his superior's question. The man's tone looked ordinary, unlike yesterday.

Dehemating softly, the cold man placed the neat files on the table.

"The lawyer was eventually fired by the owner. Automatically, the case was closed without any furtherance."

Nate blinked his eyes. He did not expect this information.

"He was fired by the owner? Since when?"

"I received word this morning from Donald. I'm just gonna update it on you just now when you ask."

The gaze of the man in front of him lowered, towards one of the dots that was on the table. His mind seemed to think, considering this incident was too coincidental.

"Do you know why?"

"Frankly, I don't know why either, sir. But the information from Donald, it's being instructed directly from the top leadership of the company, which leaves everyone with nothing to dispute."

The man finally nodded his head. He was trying to get this strange information.

He lifted his eyes back to Marcus.

"Marc. Please reorganize the meeting with Master Johan. If I can tomorrow afternoon, because I have something to do tonight."

Tomorrow night, Nate plans to come back to Lin's apartment. He will try to talk back to the woman.

For a long time, he himself became like a hot worm when he could not meet him. Only a few days ago, he wanted to keep his distance from the woman.

Marcus nodded. "I understand. Do you and Miss Alina want to be reunited with Master Johan?"

His superior looked at Marcus with a faint smile on his lips.

"No, Marc. Tomorrow, we'll meet Master Johan."

The information from his superior made Marcus' eyes glow. The cold man really wanted to meet his creator one last time, before the old man left the world.

"Thank you, Mister. For this opportunity." Marcus' heart was moved by the kindness of his superiors.

"Don't thank me, Marc. Our degrees are the same in the old man's eyes. We are both creatures of his creation."
