The day they were waiting for arrived because today they could find out the gender of the baby being conceived by Marien. Abraham was the most excited because he was the most impatient. Marien and William were relaxed, either male or female, they didn't mind it.
They had an appointment with the gynecologist at two noon but Abraham was very impatient. The old man walked back and forth while looking at the clock. Really he was very impatient for the clock two o'clock coming soon. Abraham even stood long enough in front of the wall clock pensively.
Silvia shook her head at the behavior of her husband who could spend quite a long time just standing in front of the clock. Abraham had never been like that before but today, he was really like everyone else but he was already like everyone else when he found out their son-in-law was already pregnant.
"Hey, old man. What are you doing here?" silvia asked as she approached her husband and stood by his side.
"Seeing the clock, what else? Time goes on for so long. I want to turn it around!"
"Ck, don't do anything silly. You can't change anything even if you turn that clock!"
"But I'm already impatient, it's a precious moment that I can't just miss!" said Abraham.
"All right, old man. Don't turn the clock, watch if you do. I'll hit you and you'll have to dance all day long if you do!" silvia.
"I know, don't bother me because I want to be alone waiting in front of this hour!"
"Be careful, don't get possessed just for waiting for the hour!" Silvia again shook her head because of her husband's strange behavior.
"Here, don't bother me! Go and tell our daughter-in-law to get ready!"
"Alright, fine!" Silvia stepped away towards the park because she wanted to call her daughter-in-law who was spending her time in the park. Marien, who was reading a book to get rid of the boredom of saving her book when Silvia approached her.
"Has William gone home, Mom?" ask Marien.
"Maybe in a minute. The weather's so hot, don't you want to go inside?"
"It's okay, the air's pretty cool in here."
"Well, you better get ready soon, some can't wait to get away to quickly know the sex of your baby."
"I guess, the impatient is definitely Daddy," said Marien.
"As you know, you'd better get ready before she becomes an ornate statue in front of the wall clock."
Marien chuckled, her father-in-law was definitely impatient and she hoped that her first child would be a girl so that her father-in-law would be happy. Silvia sat beside her daughter-in-law, they could chat for a while before they left. Anyway William hasn't come back yet, so just let the old man spend his time in front of the clock.
"Mom, can I ask you something?"
"Of course, what do you want to know?"
"When you give birth, does it hurt?" tanyakanya.
"It hurts, of course it hurts but it all pays off after our baby is born. The pain we feel suddenly disappears seeing a cute little face. Our struggle to give birth will be paid with the presence of our children. Believe me, our struggle during childbirth and the pain we feel when we look will pay off when we see the face of our sweet baby, who has been present in our lives!" every woman who has given birth will certainly not forget the pain but not only that, the happiness felt when their baby is born will also not be forgotten.
"Thanks, Mommy. I'm just worried. I'm afraid I can't get through it because it's my first experience."
"No need to worry. If you're afraid of giving birth normally, you can do something else."
"Thanks, Mommy. I'll try to give birth normally later."
"That's great, now let's go inside and get ready. We'll leave right after William comes back and if he doesn't come back, we'll keep you in check."
"Well, don't make Daddy a statue in front of a wall clock" Marie joked.
"Just let him, trust me if he's the fastest man before we're ready!"
"Mommy's right, I hope my baby's a girl to make Daddy happy," Marien looked down and rubbed her enlarged belly.
"No need to think, don't be a burden to you. We were expecting a baby girl but if not, we would still accept it. Not that we wouldn't accept if your baby was a boy. We also can't possibly hate you and reject you just because of this because your gender isn't what determines so don't worry" Silvia said, rubbing Marien's back.
"I'm just afraid to disappoint you Mom, let alone Daddy who is expecting a granddaughter, so I'm afraid to let him down" compared to others, he was most afraid and worried about disappointing his father-in-law, especially he was so enthusiastic that he decorated the house with shades of pink and had prepared a room that was all pink.
"But why didn't William have a phobia, wasn't he the first kid?" suddenly he became interested in this.
"Okay, I don't know either and I'm lucky not because if he gets phobias like his sister then we'll have a hard time getting a son-in-law and a grandchild!"
"Mommy's right," Marien smiled faintly, if William had a phobia then the story would be different because he wouldn't be able to get William married so easily.
"Okay, enough of the story. Let's get ready" Silvia said.
Marien nodded and then moved. Silvia stepped along with her daughter-in-law until they entered the house. It turned out that William had come home and was talking to his father who was still standing in front of the wall clock.
"Come on guys, time to go!" hearing his wife's words, Abraham moved so quickly without saying anything.
Again Silvia shook her head with her husband's behavior. They did not waste time because some were already so impatient. Abraham had even been waiting in the car and asked his son to hurry. He had been holding back his patience from now on so he did not want to delay anymore.
They went to their private hospital. No one should bother them even a room was specially prepared for Marien. If the doctor who will examine Marien has no obstruction due to the operation, they can come at any time. They can use another doctor, but Marien won't because she's used to it.
"Patience, old man!" Silvia calms down her unsettled husband while Marien is conducting an examination and William accompanies her.
"I'm really impatient!" said husband.
"So soon, we'll know!"
"If my granddaughter is a girl, I'll have a party to give thanks!" she really wished for her granddaughter to be a girl.
"You can do it later but you have to be patient for a minute!" silvia.
"Women, women, must be women!" he said while holding both palms.
"Ck, insistent grandfather-to-be!" silvia.
Abraham grew impatient, and he walked back and forth until William and Marien finally walked out of the room because they were done.
"How, must it be a woman, right?" tanyanya was impatient.
"Dad!" William patted his father on the shoulder with a sad expression.
"What's? Was my guess wrong?" ask father.
"It looks like Daddy will have to wait for next year to get a granddaughter!" said William.
"What's? So the baby's a boy?"
William looked at his father with a sad expression, of course it made his father sad because he guessed his grandson was a man.
"No, so a man?" Abraham fell down with a sad expression. No woman is destined to be born in her family.
"Don't be sad like that. We'll definitely get a granddaughter later!" said wife.
"It seems that in our family we are not destined to have a woman!" he said desperate.
"Come, Dad. Didn't I tell you, you'll get a granddaughter next year!"
"Don't brag, isn't your wife going to give birth next year how can it be?" Abraham looked at his son, as if something was wrong.
"Not conscious yet?" ask William.
"Oh my God, is that dancing?" Silvia was also surprised because she already thought they would get a grandson.
"Yes...hoooo!" Abraham leaped from his seat and jigged forward and backward to express his happiness. Marien laughed at the behavior of his parents-in-law who were very happy, he had expected must be his father-in-law who was very happy and the news, really brought happiness to all of them.
