New Happiness, Begins

New Happiness, Begins
The Part 11

Kendall returned to the main room and stood beside the open door, hoping David would follow. Slowly walk around the carpet on the floor. Every time the man swung the body forward with crutches, the muscular muscles of his arms contracted.

Kendall had to take a look when she saw him.

David stood beside the bed and leaned back, then used the rubber end of the crutches to lift the sheets. "Your cat's hiding?" ask her while sticking out her neck.

Kendall folded her hands. "See you again Mr. Booker."

David glanced at the corridor, then looked back at Kendall with his piercing hazel eyes. "Actually, I came to ask you to accompany me to a barbecue party. I'm sorry for what I said earlier. My jokes aren't funny. Actually I'm not a jerk if you know me better."

Kendall did not let her imagination enjoy the delusion of skipping the night to "get to know" David Booker. Any normal woman would definitely not refuse to be accompanied by this handsome and burly young man for a few hours and he himself was a woman. Moreover, David's deep kisses still teased his lips like a mischievous shadow. But a warning bell rang in his head.

Recalling her determination to leave, Kendall raised her chin. "No, thank you."

David's smile disappeared. He seemed confused, obviously not usually rejected. "Oh.. okay."

Suddenly Hailey Baldwin appears in the doorway with Oscar tied at the end of a pink rope near the foot. The woman looked sexy in a short jeans skirt and tight yellow sweatshirt, her golden hair dangling over her shoulders. "So I heard your voice, David. What are you doing up here?" His voice was suspicious.

"Mrs. Booker checked the hot water in my bathroom." Kendall said quickly

"Loh, in my room the hot water is smooth" Hailey said. "So I took a warm bath for a long time. Pleasant."

"Hailey," said Kendall cheerfully to break the awkwardness, "Mr. Booker, want to go to the barbecue party, maybe you can accompany him to make sure he doesn't fall?"

Hailey smiled, "Happy."

David took a step forward, then looked at Kendall again, as if he had just remembered the woman was there. "Come with us, Doc?"

"Maybe later" Kendall lies, moving the door to close, to drive David away.

Kendall returned to the room, sat down and wrote a letter to the Booker brothers, telling them that she had decided Happiness was not the right place for her and put the letter on the table. As silence filled the dormitory, Kendall collected the two suitcases, opened the door and stuck her head out to make sure the situation was calm. After being sure of being alone, he carried his suitcases into the corridor, closed the door of the room and rushed down the stairs.

He slipped out the front door, across the dimly lit porch and rushed to his car.

Darkness quickly enveloped. The lamp at the top of the pole in front of the dormitory illuminated the flying moth and led Kendall's steps to the side of the road. Then he walked down the line of vehicles to his car. The unbearable sting of summer was already defeated by the breeze of night. Kendall suspects that the striking temperature change is due to the height of Happiness.

He gulped with difficulty, imagining a trip down the mountain road with only a guide by car headlights and crescent moonlight. Maybe he should wait until morning...

Behind a row of trees across the street, people's voices, music, and rays of fire show a barbecue feast in progress. The carefree voices pulled him but the suitcase in hand pushed him forward. If you wait until the morning, there will be contradictions, explanations, excuses, and commotion that he does not want.

Especially when it comes to that pair of charming hazel eyes.

After putting the suitcase in the back, Kendall climbed into the driver's seat which felt warm-warm piercing due to the rising temperature of the day. He opened the window glass so that the stale air came out.

In the side rearview mirror, the sunset was like a stunning watercolor painting that seemed to melt into the mountains from a distance. Kendall paused for a moment to enjoy the unequaled view. If it grows, the city will be surrounded by a fascinating view.

With a sting of regret, Kendall turned on the engine, turned the car around, and left.

From a rocking chair in the darkness of the veranda, David observes Doctor Jenner leaving in his long car. Damn, Harry's right. The woman will return once the opportunity arises. Sneaking away while everyone was busy, without even bothering to get acquainted.

Honestly, his feelings are a bit hurt.

David rubbed his chin and waited, counting second by second as he and his brother did when they were little, trying to estimate the distance of the storm by calculating the gap between the lightning and the roar of lightning.

The woman's brake lights went on, then the engine coughed and died.

David put up a crutch and stood up. His legs hurt because he had crawled under the doctor's car to break the gas line, only that's a safe quick way to turn off the car.

Harry had given him the order to keep Little Doctor's mother here. The brother did not say that his ways should be honest.

The car squeaked and died, and the sound of the engine trying to turn on again floated with the breeze of the night. When David got to the driver's door, Dr. Jenner was beating the steering wheel and swearing.

"What's up, Doc?"

Kendall was surprised and screamed, then turned and saw her through the open window. "You scared me to death!"

David smiled broadly, "Sorry. You want to go?"

"I. I just want to. look around." Get Kendall

David stuck out his neck to look towards the back seat. "With your suitcases?"

Kendall threw her face away, then looked at her again while raising both hands.

"All right, I got caught red-handed. I'm going to go."

"I don't think we made a good first impression" David admitted. He was surprised to see the perfection of Kendall's face in a dim light. The woman is actually quite beautiful.not as sexy as people imagine, but beautiful.

"I shouldn't have come here in the first place" said Kendall, "I'm not here."

Not surprisingly, Happiness was not good enough for the woman and her medical degree. "So you're going home?"

Kendall's little hand gripped the steering wheel. "If you can get out of here. I don't know why this car." He glanced at the dashboard. "The tank was almost full, and I bought a new battery a few weeks ago."

"Let me check under the hood" David proposes kindly. "You got a flashlight?"

Kendall checked the car drawer and found it. "Can I help you?"

"Eh, not yet. Stay inside, who knows you need to start the engine."

David limped to the front of the car, painstakingly opening the hood and installing a crutch in place. He turned the flashlight around, pretending to check the parts and parts of the car, when in fact he was looking towards the barbecue party place with a wanted gaze. The sound of music is getting louder, inviting. Damn, all single and sexy women are so friendly but he's stuck here, trying to convince a woman who wants to leave Happiness to stay.
