Kendall was forced to drive to Atlanta because David could not do it with his feet wrapped in a cast. The car was parked and waiting with the engine running.
David turned his head and blinked his eyes to be sure. Kendall wears a pale color flower dress and high heels. His hair color looks brighter and cut new models... David realized when Kendall approached while carrying a bag containing equipment to stay overnight.
David was about to move to get the bag that Kendall carried before he finally reminded himself and realized that he could not use crutches and bring Kendall bags. David couldn't take his eyes off the woman. The dress worn by the doctor accentuated her slender curves and high heels accentuated her beautiful legs. The modern and new color of Kendall's hair fits perfectly with her eyes and face shape. Her full lips were dyed red, emphasizing the smile she rarely showed.
It was indeed Kendall with a stylish appearance.
"Good morning" he said to David.
David's tongue. "Good morning. You look beautiful" David managed to talk.
Kendall's smile made her pretty brown eyes sparkle. "Thank you."
David could think of nothing more to say, so he just stared.
"Have you brought her wedding ring?" kendall asked, looking at David.
David patted the shirt pocket. "There's here. He doesn't know we're taking him. He thinks I stopped by to visit. He must be happy to see this ring back."
"In that case, maybe he won't pay too much attention to your cast" Kendall said.
David recalled Harry's comment that Kendall would be a nuisance today. He stood watching the woman, feeling like a schoolboy admiring his date to the dance. His heart was racing inside his chest and he seemed to be back in the day as Kendall's lips and hands burned his passion. Kendall's cheeks are blushing. Can she feel what she is thinking?
David was not satisfied to look at Kendall. The woman was wearing a tailor-made dress as a model.
Kendall pointed at the sky. "We must leave immediately if we want to be on time to see your doctor."
David nodded. "Sorry you had to drive."
"It doesn't matter, as long as you show me the way."
"It looks like we're going to be a compact team" David said.
At first, the atmosphere in the car was tense. In order not to keep staring at Kendall, David raved about the important places and borders they passed. Since the woman was obviously not planning to stay, so why should she care where trade used to be centered? Or that storm-swept roof bridges and possible attempts to reconnect remote agricultural areas there with roads to Happiness will be their next big project?
"Good," Kendall commented.
David decided to pause and turn on the radio. At this height, there were not many radio waves that could be obtained, but eventually he found a country music station.
"What about this channel?" tanyakanya.
"Smooth toad skin."
David laughing. "The phrase was similar to what Happiness people used to say."
Kendall's expression shows she doesn't want to be considered a "happiness person". "That's my friend in Denville. He's from a small town."
Kendall's eyes were glued to the village road, her small hands placed on the big steering wheel at the positions of the numbers ten and two. He looked so tiny, yet so controlling. David's heart is ambushed by confusing emotions.he appreciates the woman's strength, but feels obliged to protect her. But since arriving in Happiness, Kendall took care of it. She is not the type of woman who usually makes David interested, but she mastered the mind and always made David's body ignited passion, especially after the events in the practice room. David twitched in the chair and tried to think of things more general, but in vain.
"Your feet hurt?" Chirps Kendall.
"Eh. little," lie.
"I had one this morning" said David. "Just a little stiff. I can't wait to take this cast off."
"It's still a few weeks away" said Kendall in a doctor's tone. "But I'm glad you'll be X-rayed today to check if your bones are recovering properly. Your fall is quite high."
"Eh. I won't tell Mom that I fell from the tower."
A small smile appeared on Kendall's lips. "What are you gonna say?"
"I thought of something that didn't cause much horror."
"I guess with the two boys, he's used to dealing with horrible things. But she's your mother. Does he live alone?"
"He moved to his sister's place after the storm hit. They got along, but Mom so loudly voiced her longing for Happiness. Sometimes I think his desire to go back home is putting Harry under pressure, more so than a government deadline." David smiled. "You know what family is like."
As Kendall bites her lower lip, David laments her careless choice... Kendall has no family. "I'm sorry I'm so insensitive..."
"That's okay," cut Kendall. "You don't always have to be careful. I realize most people have relatives."
"You don't have an aunt, uncle or cousin?"
"My mom once told me about some distant cousins in Caliphonia who were descendants of my grandmother's sister, but their Mom remarried and changed the family name. I don't even know how to start the search."
"Maybe they'll find you sometime" said David, then wet his lips. "Are you going to live in Denville?"
Kendall doubts. "Looks."
Suddenly Kendall's phone, which was located between their seats, began to ring three times in a row, notifying incoming messages. "I think now my phone has got a signal" Kendall said with a laugh.
As the sound continued, it felt impossible to ignore. Five messages.. ten...
"Someone really wants to call you" David said. The woman's ex-fiancee?
Kendall moves in the seat. "I'll check the message after we stop. How long are we gonna be at your mother's sister's?"
"About three hours."
Kendall nodded. "By the way, the ladies in line want to take care of your body as long as we're gone."
"Good, as long as they don't make the deer a pet."
Kendall laughs. "Don't be surprised if he wears a necklace that says his name when we get home."
"Most of them seem to be able to adjust to village life" David said cautiously.
Kendall nodded, but did not comment.
"Happiness would be a great place to raise a child" David continued, now officially feeling like an ad.
"Yes," said Kendall softly. "Obviously you and your brother have a lot of great memories growing up here."
