New Happiness, Begins

New Happiness, Begins
The Part 15

"It's not that bad" said David, evasive.

"Fix it. You may have a concussion or other injury undetected by my equipment. Your health must be really taken care of."

The intelligence and compassion in Kendall's eyes was an intoxicating combination. David was amazed at the knowledge that must have been constantly being filled in the woman's intelligent brain. The long hours of study and dedication needed to become a doctor always astonished David. At first glance, Kendall Jenner seemed too full to carry on with responsibilities and work as heavy as that. But upon closer inspection, the woman was as solid as steel.

And as soft as the morning sunlight.

"I'll go to the hospital, if I start feeling nauseous again." David agreed

Kendall's lips curl up tightly. "You take your medicine after you eat?"

"Maybe that's the cause." - David. "After the barbecue party broke up because of the rain, I went back to the room and went straight to sleep. My stomach isn't filled with a lot of food."

Kendall clucked in a ruffle. "You need to eat a lot so that your body heals quickly."

"I haven't had breakfast. How about you join me?"

"I've eaten a protein bar. Mr Booker can I borrow the vehicle?"

David panic. "For what?"

Kendall tapped on the phone clamped to the waist of her pants. David was glued to see the flat stomach and the woman's slender waist.

"Actually I want to drive down the mountain until I get a cell phone signal."

"We have cell towers and services from several providers here."

Kendall grimaces. "The problem is, my phone has a problem with the antenna, so the reception isn't very good."

"You can use my phone" said David, wondering who Kendall wanted to call. A fella? A boyfriend? A cab?

"Thank you, but I also need to check the messages. Never mind. I'll borrow one of the women's cars."

David's brain was spinning hard. If you leave Happiness, will Kendall continue to drive away? Looks like it's possible. David tugged at his chin, then smiled.

"I have an idea, Little Doctor Ma'am. Come with me."

Kendall was anxious to imagine going with David Booker, but her curiosity won. So he followed the man out the side door and was greeted by the July morning sun, but he waited as David clumsily boarded the vehicle that looked like a lawnmower, one of the all-terrain vehicles the man and his brother drove yesterday. David sat himself in the seat and threw crutches down next to the injured leg, then turned his head and patted the empty space on the back of his seat.

"Let's go up."

Kendall hesitates. "Where are we going?"

David smiled broadly. "Get you a phone signal."

Kendall's heart beat soared drastically at the man's smile. David was too handsome for her. But Kendall doesn't have to worry about falling in love with David Booker, because he's not here long. He will leave as soon as the car is repaired.

"Are you sure you can drive with an injured leg?"

"No problem. Control of this vehicle is hand-operated." explains David

"What about the helmet?"

For a moment David seemed annoyed, but he turned around and lifted the back of the seat so that it showed storage and took out two helmets, giving one of them to Kendall.

Kendall has run out of excuses. Besides, he can't wait to call. So the helmet was taken and put on the head while going up to the ATV. He sat behind David, looking for a grip.

"Just hold on to me" David said from behind his shoulder.

Before Kendall could argue, David had already started the engine and pressed the gas. He hugged David's waist for safety as the ATV flinched forward.

But Kendall must admit that wrapping her hands around the man's tight abdominal muscles doesn't feel bad.

David drove the ATV away from the dotted road, then into the forest, down a rocky road that was just enough width for one vehicle. On both sides of the road, trees were towering and bushes looked bushy. The temperature below the lush foliage is cooler by a few degrees.

"So far yes," said Kendall, some of him do not want to admit that he likes the freedom to enjoy the caress of the wind in the face.

They drove for about twenty minutes before finally slowing down the speed and arriving in the open. Up ahead, Kendall recognized the tower's support posts. It must be what he saw from the road to Happiness.

The tower where David came from fell.

The man stopped the ATV, then turned off the engine. Kendall goes down first and takes off the helmet, then helps David find a foothold and mount the crutches.

"Back to the Kindergarten, the Place of Genesis Matters." joked David

Kendall looked up to see the top of the tower through the trees. "What's your position when you fall?"

"From the top."

Kendall shook her head in wonder. "Good thing your neck didn't break."

David smiled broadly. "Indeed."

The man pointed at the phone at Kendall's waist. "Try to see if you've got a signal by now."

Kendall pulled out her phone and was happy to see two of her five lines filled up. The message mark is zero. "There's a little signal, I'll try calling." He pressed the phone button to listen to a voice message but the call failed. He tried twice with the same result.

"The signal is not strong enough to call, let alone to check e-mail." He smiled at David. "But it's nice of you to take me up here to try. Let me drive when we get off."

David put his lips together. "Or you can go upstairs."

Kendall raised her eyebrows. "You mean climbing the tower?"

"Are you afraid of heights?" ask David

"Not really."

"You must have gotten a stronger signal than here if you were on top." Hazel eyes David dancing. "I guarantee the view doesn't disappoint."

Kendall bit her lip and considered climbing or not. He himself did not want to fall. "Same?"

"As long as you slow down." David was embarrassed. "I saw your motorcade coming and was in too much of a hurry to return to the city."

"I saw you up there" Kendall said. "When we enter the city."

"Really?"

Kendall nodded, then looked up again and protected the eyes from the sun that sank at the top of the trees. All her life she was a city girl, so it was tempting to imagine climbing a tower. After all, he will soon leave this place. Why not bring up some interesting memories?

"I'll climb up."

The smile that David gave warmed Kendall's body. It was like he had just passed the test. The man accompanied her to the foot of the tower stairs while giving directions. "Every six meters there's an extra wide footing that you can use to stop and sit down if you need a break."

"okay."

"After arriving at the top, be careful to set foot from the stairs to the courtyard."

"okay."

"And don't worry. If you fall, I'll be here and arrest you."

Kendall flashed a mocking look towards David and his crutches. "true."

"I'll help push you on" David said as he pointed to the first step too high for Kendall.
