New Happiness, Begins

New Happiness, Begins
The Part 20

Kendall half expected to hear music playing. Undoubtedly, the presentation was impressive and the brothers' determination to rebuild their city was convincing. But Kendall sees a big gap in logistics. And from a less than standing ovation, she felt that the other women had the same thoughts.

"Where's the police officer?" shouted a woman.

"Are we safe here?"

"Where is internet access?" ask the others. "We'll have trouble without cell phones."

"What about cable TV?"

"How can we receive the post?"

"Where is the nearest grocery store?"

"Nearby mal?"

"The nearest animal shop?"

"I had to take a cold shower this morning."

"What's with this red thing you call earth?"

"Is it always this hot?"

"Are you able to overcome those insects?"

The women continued to search. The men looked as if they were ready to run for cover until Harry Booker swung his hand and asked the people to calm down. "Miss, we haven't been able to find a solution to all that, but we're willing to work with you to tackle the first thing that matters to you."

Hailey, who was sitting next to Kendall, stood up. "You're asking us to place great trust in this city."

Harry nodded. "true."

Hailey turned to Kendall. "I want to know what Dr. Jenner thinks."

Kendall was terrified as all eyes in this room were fixed on her. Hailey sat down and elbowed him. Reluctantly, Kendall got up, her brain and heart racing. David Booker looked at him, begging that they be supported.

Kendall immediately sweated, then wet her lips and prayed that her words would not slur. "I'm very impressed with what the Booker brothers are trying to do here. But I am also concerned about the fulfillment of daily needs. Especially regarding the lack of facilities and medical personnel."

He took his eyes off David's piercing eyes. "To be honest, I'm afraid your sentimentality in rebuilding your childhood home is interfering with judgment, obscuring hundreds, maybe even thousands, of decisions to make for a happy, safe home."

Everyone in the room nodded in agreement. Their heads nodded and the women started talking to each other.

"Doctor Jenner," asked David, his heavy voice beating the commotion in the room, "why did you come here?"

The room was quiet again. Kendall's face is hot. So many in the room thought the reason for his arrival was to escape a betrayed fiancee.

But he was not willing to admit it out loud, especially not in the presence of David Booker. "I came here, as your ad says, to start a new life."

David nodded slowly, then limped down from the podium and walked on crutches towards the big double door. All eyes follow him. The jerseys she wears are tightly attached to her muscular body, her jeans hanging loosely and low at the waist. When he arrived near the door, he pushed it wide open with a crutch. The sunlight rushed into the room. David leaned toward the dancing rays and closed his eyes, breathing deeply. Then he exhaled loudly and opened his eyes. "It's never fresher than this."

Kendall pursed her lips. The man had the talent of theatrics, but the effect on women was undeniable. Highlight the soft eyes, the mouth gawking, and he himself, aissh, his heart pounding.

Hailey stood up again. "We need time to decide. Personally."

the two brothers looked at themselves, then nodded and headed for the exit. As it passed, David stared and headed for the exit. The woman threw away her face.

After the door closed, for some time there was a debate between women. Kendall was silent, hoping not to come to the meeting, feeling unworthy to voice an opinion if she herself did not intend to stay.

"I trust Doctor Jenner" Kylie said, then turned to Kendall. "I'll do whatever you say."

"Me too" said another woman. "If Doctor Jenner stays, I'll stay too."

...----------------...

"What do you think is going on in there?" david asked his brother while staring at the dining hall. He sat on a bench with his feet hurting on the back. It has been more than an hour since the women asked them to leave in order to talk about whether or not to make Happiness a place to live.

"I hope they get a decision" Harry replied, glancing at the watch. "We've lost a lot of hours working today. Because Jasson and Derrick were injured this morning on the tidal track, we've had two people's power cut."

The sound of the door creaking open, drawing their attention. The women were standing near there with flat faces. Hailey Baldwin, who was certainly their spokesperson, came forward. Doctor Jenner remained silent at the back, avoiding David's gaze.

Not a good sign.

David uses crutches to stand, his stomach wrapped around.

"What are your decisions?" ask Harry.

Hailey folded her hands. "We'll be gone tomorrow morning."

David morosot's shoulder.

"To buy the equipment that this city will pay for" Hailey added

David exhaled a sigh of relief and his mood instantly brightened again.

Hailey gave Harry a striped yellow sheet of paper. List of items written on his page. David read the list from over Harry's shoulder. Food, moisture-reducing devices, gardening equipment, fly swatters, computers.

"This list makes sense" Harry admitted with a smile.

Hailey nodded. "There are ten pages."

Harry's smile vanished. "O."

"We request that the clinic be built immediately." Hailey. "We want to be given the right to determine the food menu served in the canteen. And we want the department."

"The department?" Ask Harry

"We want to be given a role" Hailey explained. "City planning. If happiness is considered a business entity, we need a corporate structure."

Harry pursed his lips. "We have a plan to start."

Hailey smiled, "We hope soon. In addition, we would like city meetings to be held on a regular basis. And we've set some rules."

"What kind of rules?" harry asked, he began to look worried.

The woman who was as fond of David named Kylie came forward with another list on the notepads. "For example, men should not spend the night in the dormitory. And we want quiet hours."

Harry frowned. "Quiet hours?"

"No engine is on, no building activity or anything that makes a noise at night, in the early hours, and on weekends."

"That's ridiculous" Harry said. "We're building a city!"

"And there can be no other rules without our input" Hailey continued regardless of Harry. "We want the authority to help decide how to advance this city."

Harry's face was red. Before he could say something David believed the women would not like, he cut. "All these suggestions are very good. We do need feedback and need your help in every aspect of Happiness rebuilding. Thank you." Thank you."

From the corner of his eye, David could see that Dr. Jenner had already broken away from the group and was trying to slip away. He saw an opportunity to make the woman the center of attention again. "Doctor Jenner!"
