The Degree

The Degree
Surprise Not Fun

Arthur eventually stopped his steps. Mona looked at Arthur and found the man dumbfounded, deeply shocked by Indri's words.

This guy is not the kind of guy who will let his emotions out through the face, Arthur is the kind of guy who is good enough to play his poker face.

But in certain cases, as now one of them, the ability to play the face is completely useless and sometimes detachment.

“... What do you mean?” Arthur managed to ask flatly and did not raise any suspicions.

Suppose Indri knew what face he was making now, then the woman would find information without the need to have further talks.

“It's as you think. Take it easy, I'm not interested in you in many things.” Indri laughed amusedly and turned to look at Arthur's back as well as Mona. “Now what if we talk?”

Arthur could not resist anymore for some unexplainable reason. Even Mona herself knew very well that they would not be able to pass through the conversation with this person.

“What do you want?”

Indri walked to the side of the garden and sat down on a chair, he stretched out his hands to show that the chair was for himself.

“Well, the topic will appear by itself. For now how are you? I see you guys are fine for going on dates.” Indri said in a mocking tone.

“It's funny for people who ask questions and answer them themselves,” Mona said exasperatedly and unhappily.

“Yes. It's a pleasure for me.” Indri did not dispute Mona's words.

Such a cheap provocation of his class would not anger him, Indri would just think of it like the wind.

Arthur sighed tiredly, he wanted to leave this place quickly but could not. Indri wants information transparently from him and Mona, so Arthur must also find a chance to get it.

“You look very relaxed even though it should be a good time for you to spread your wings to strengthen that small group.”

Arthur knows that despite being small Indri has talented people and with an extraordinary Degree by his side. In fact with such a small group they managed to drive out Virgo and the others.

It was obviously very extraordinary even Indri and his group had the highest vigilance from Arthur for now.

“Gathering a little mouse that will only die stepped on is useless. Amount is meaningless if its ability is meaningless.” Indri looked at Mona and Arthur alternately with interest.

“If I have to add my servants, then it is better for me to attract wild boars like you. Even if it's not interesting, at least wild boar hurt more than rats.”

The number was not the strongest in this world, especially if it was related to the Degree. This is the same as in many stories about murim.

A hundred men would be useless against one great warrior. Law degrees are also similar in some places.

“In addition, most small mice are stupid and easily affected. If I just collect them, it is not impossible that his fangs will be directed at me.”

Although little did not accept the parable he took, Arthur preferred to ignore it rather than argue.

“So. You're afraid of being stabbed in the back. Even the ape handler remains worried about being bitten by a monkey.”

Indri was a little giggling to find unexpected provocation from Arthur because to his knowledge this man was not that type.

“...”

Arthur became very silent. The words indirectly stated that Indri did not raise and defend his group alone.

‘Among the small group of strong people who belong to him ... there is a figure who controls them,’ thought Arthur.

From the beginning Arthur felt strange because everyone in his group obeyed Indri who was only a woman. I don't know what Degree he has, but those people instead have a weak Degree.

It was highly unlikely that they would simply submit if not for fear or control.

‘But I can't believe it. It is possible that he deliberately said it to mess with my mind.’

Although it was difficult to get it out of his mind, Arthur would not eat it immediately.

“How are things? I see only the two of you are wandering around freely now,” Indri suddenly asked and changed the direction of the conversation.

“It's none of your business, it's up to them to do what and will do what!” Mona replied in a threatening tone.

“I just asked,” Indri sneered, “Besides you I just found that tiger boy wandering around here and there like crazy. Ah, and also the Japanese woman seems to be confused about the thing she wants to spend.”

Arthur furrowed his brows. Once again he had to admit about the speed with which Indri got the information. He believes that the tiger boy Indri refers to is Leo, while the Japanese woman is Terumi.

“With the end of the Open World task, it seems that the big union has disbanded and returned to the small group. Although it seems there are some who are still together on a small scale.”

Arthur did not deny it, anyways the guesses he had were like that. Along with the end of the fifth task, the union was dissolved and the union system was abolished.

Even so it is not surprising if people who know each other as long as it remains hand in hand.

“The credibility of your information is questionable,” Arthur said.

“I have my own way of looking for it. What I know, what you don't know. And, what I see, something you don't see.”

Indri got up from his chair and walked past Mona and Arthur. As he was next to Arthur, Indri conveyed.

“Different from the monkeys who play around without knowing the world. You are planning something of course,” Indri then whisper things that only Arthur and Mona can hear, “For you are also ... ***.”

Arthur furrowed his brows without even trying to turn around. Mona stared at Indri's back and Arthur's face in turn.

“Arthur .. just now—”

“Yes,” Arthur cut off Mona's words because she knew what Mona wanted to say, “The woman knows my Degree somehow.”

Although Arthur did not convey the white or black words Indri, but did not care what he would say for a lie. Indri indirectly conveyed that he believed his information was not wrong.

‘So far only Mona knows my Degree. Mona's obviously not gonna open her mouth about that. I don't know what kind of trick to use to find out, which is obviously the woman is dangerous.’

Another surprising fact is that Indri learned that Arthur was devising a secret plan that he did not share with anyone but himself.
