The Degree

The Degree
Virgo Offers

As expected, this person came to offer cooperation. Virgo has many enemies in one place. The steps he could take were very limited and there were only three possible.

The first option remains silent and hides like a coward until the next task. Surely this is the safest option but Ray knows that Virgo won't take it.

The second option is to move and finish off his opponents one by one to reduce the number of his enemies. The biggest risk is taking this option; when one opponent falls the other will not stand still and try to decapitate him. It will increase the alertness of the enemy and make them join hands.

Virgo does not take both options which makes it that there is only one option left. One thing he is doing at the moment; reducing opponents and multiplying teammates.

If he manages to get cooperation from the enemy and turn him into a friend, it is quite capable of reducing the threat that comes.

“That's a surprising sentence as a joke. I almost misunderstood,” said Ray who did not take Virgo's words seriously. Although he actually knew this guy wasn't kidding.

Ray starts playing his watch and accesses the Market. He needed some things to be prepared for his own safety.

“I'm tired of seeing your stupidity. This place is safe so no one listens. You can take off that stupid mask.”

Ray does not want his contact with Virgo revealed by others. Perhaps someone from his friend or someone else eavesdropped on the conversation. For that, Ray must not be seen to have cooperation.

“This place is one hundred percent clean,” added Virgo.

The sentence had meaning, Ray tried to guess it. “It appears that you have made adjustments to this place. So anyway. You mean it to get cooperation from me.”

Ray wouldn't be surprised if Virgo's men were in the distance to monitor. They always hide their faces when they act so that no one knows the real faces of the princes.

It's not hard to blend in without a mask.

“You guessed smartly.”

“To be honest I have no interest in working with you. The more threads I carry, the easier it is to tangle,” said Ray. “But I will listen to your bad guy.”

The clock has many features. Not only to access the Market and tasks, but able to install other functions. While in this conversation Ray has accessed the Market and bought something.

Goods in the Market are not necessarily physical objects, but a system is also available. Than the system, it may be more suitable to be called an additional feature on the clock.

Ray has purchased additional features so he can keep this conversation with him. If Virgo uses this conversation to worsen Ray's position, then he will have a strong alibi to refute.

From the beginning he continued to emphasize this conversation only jokes and jokes.

“I want us to work together to destroy someone. Even I know that you will worry about the whereabouts of this person,” Virgo seems confident when saying so. “As a fellow person who hides his Degree, his presence is clearly alarming.”

No need to mention who it is clearly. Among the people Ray knew, only one was very likely to reveal the other person's Degree by looking at it alone.

“My mistake was letting it go because *****this is not honest about the Degree. I want to eliminate him before he reveals my Degree.”

Ray can understand that Virgo is very worried about his Degree being revealed. Even Ray had the same feelings as her.

Suppose Degree Ray is revealed at this stage, it is not surprising that everyone turns hostile. He who has not even understood about his true function, what else is someone else.

Until he understands the usefulness of his own Degree carefully, Ray has no intention of letting anyone know.

The degree known to others is not a problem. Even Terumi had already revealed her Degree to some people. It's not surprising that it was leaked but it didn't really have any effect on him.

“This is a business secret. I have my own reasons for doing so,” Virgo refuses to give any further explanation. “Kill Mona, that's what I want us to work with.”

Virgo insists so but Ray doesn't take the bait so easily.

“There is no advantage for me. Even if my Degree is revealed by him, I won't receive any major damage,” Ray stared at Virgo. “In addition you should be able to handle it yourself without asking for cooperation from me.”

Virgo has the power to do so that it does not really need its ability.

“I won't bother to meet you and make this arrangement if there's no problem,” Virgo sighed tiredly. “The problem is the guardians. Retsuji Arthur's. This bastard is the biggest variable that will turn my plan into trash.”

Ray was interested to hear it. For a long time he tried to evaluate Arthur but there was nothing he could understand. Ray doesn't know how far a degree someone can get.

“I have absolutely no idea what you mean.”

Virgo seemed to laugh as if mocking Ray who knew nothing.

“The guy is very special. I made it a top one person with a dangerous Degree in a sense. If you accept cooperation with me, without a doubt I will share information about this person.”

Virgo looked at Ray as if he knew something.

“You however this man is your biggest obstacle. I know that you two are starting to get suspicious of each other and sniff at each other.”

Ray answers nothing and lets Virgo drown in his assumptions. I don't know where he came to that conclusion but it's better not to say anything at this stage.

“How? Will you accept my offer? Even if you want, I'm willing to give you some help to kill Arthur. His death will bring benefits to both of us,” asked Virgo.

Ray thought several times whether he would accept it or not. As he said, carrying too much thread will make it easy to tangle.

A moment later Ray pulled out his knife and stabbed his fingertip. He then used his blood to paint a sentence.

“Unfortunately it's impossible, I can't accept it. Mona and Arthur are my friends.” Although Ray's mouth conveyed so, what he wrote was clearly different.

With his bloody hand, Ray carved these words in his other hand:

‘I'll make certain conditions where you have a chance of killing him. Instead, information about Arthur and help me by killing someone.’

Virgo reads it clearly even though the writing is unclear. He was able to understand each word because he observed Ray's hand movements.

“So so, I understand. I accept your refusal. Then I'll go. Take good care of your life until your next assignment.”

Virgo walks away and his hand makes certain moves that convey the execution schedule.

Ray certainly did not complain about the set time because he himself planned to do it on that day.
