The Degree

The Degree
The Degree II's

“The Degree,” murmured Ray, he was quite amazed by the naming he made.

Either he was the origin of making it or had done a certain calculation about giving it its name.

The Degree, as it means a title. Secret has explained many times that the Degree itself is a title that is expected, desired and described from the user.

A simple example is Terumi, a culture lover to receive a Degree as a cultural fanatic. It would probably be underestimated if his abilities were not clearly exposed.

After Terumi fully understand the Degree he has, in fact Fanatic Culture is a very strong Degree. Able to master whatever he has learned as long as it is within the scope of culture.

It is not known how far Terumi can take advantage of his strength but it can be believed that his Degree is very strong. Fortunately Terumi was able to make good use of it.

“The last task we provide will determine your future and Degree. It can be said that what determines your future is the person who completes the task later.”

Ray tried to understand the sentence, Secret always conveyed something vague and difficult to understand. But it is believed that each sentence has a meaning that leads to a certain thing.

‘The future is determined by ourselves, is it?’

The future will depend on the person completing the final task first. Ray for some reason knew where Secret was going to take all this.

Besides, Ray knew about what Secret wanted.

“What do you mean? Can't say it directly without something to hide?”

People will certainly experience anxiety from the implied message that is not understood. Even so Secret seemed unconcerned about it, he lightly conveyed.

“Smart people will think. We have no obligation to feed a chicken, let the chicken feed itself.”

It seemed that Secret would not care about people who were not even willing to use his head. They are the type of people who will die quickly.

“Hah? You're mocking me, damn it?!” Someone got angry and pulled out his gun. “I've been fed up with you for a long time, I will end this with your death!”

The guy pulled his gun and tried to shoot Secret. Even so, Secret just kept quiet and started typing something in the air.

“We don't need people who don't obey.”

A moment later the person who intended to shoot became silent and sculpted. Many pay attention silently, it is certainly interesting to note.

Even Ray didn't let that guy get out of sight. Ray has long been curious about how Secret confidently created a Degree and submitted a trial, although there is a possibility that Degree users will turn against him.

Secret isn't a fool who doesn't make any handling of this. Ray is certainly interested to see how the handling he will do.

“Oi! What's wrong with you?” Someone who might be his friend approached in fear.

He stared at his friend's frozen face, his eyes flushed red and started to bleed from every hole in his body.

“T-please—” he said before exploding like a balloon.

The man beside him was drenched in blood, he started to fall down with his butt in shock before finally vomiting. How not? It's an impossible sight where a human explodes like a balloon, leaving behind his bones and organs.

“A-what happened? How could he explode?”

“Entahlah .. could that person do something?”

Speculation began to emerge, from the many rights one thing that has in common. Everyone will suspect Secret as the main culprit of the case.

‘Possibly he gave orders against something to overcome that person.’

As the speculation began to peak, Secret finally gave an explanation. It was as if he had wanted to reveal it from the beginning.

“We are not stupid to give you powers that could harm us. Of course, if any of you oppose then we will destroy it.”

“How do you do it?” Far away, Arthur asked. He doesn't seem to be worried about his whereabouts being known to others.

After seeing a human explode like that, who would dare to act recklessly right in front of Secret?”

“When you first came and received a Degree. We have included micro-sized robots that not only help you understand language, but also set up safeguards on the premise that there will be rebellious idiots.”

In addition to injecting Serum D, Secret also implanted something like a small chip for everyone to understand each other's language. But it seems that the chip also has other functions.

Surely Secret will not reveal it at this stage. Even Serum D itself is still doubtful whether it only gives Degree to someone or has other functions.

“We won't use it to kill you as long as you don't rebel. Only rebels sentenced to death.”

“Now we will begin the explanation of The Degree, the final task we have prepared.”

A hologram screen appeared behind Secret, it was large enough for everyone to see.

There displays numbers from one to fifty.

“We will determine fifty people to lead one group each. Each group will be filled by a maximum of two hundred members including the leader. No minimum amount for one group.”

Including the first generation, there were around more than seven thousand people. Ray is quite surprised that the previous events and the Open World have claimed up to thirteen thousand lives.

Secret goes back to explaining that moving without a group is possible with a certain time. It is indeed the freedom of a person to choose his group but there is no permission to move without the group. When the grace period to select the group runs out, then the person will automatically be removed from the last task.

The meaning of abort is certainly very broad but everyone immediately directs it to death. How else would you like? In this place, failing is as much about death.

“Nobody is stupid enough to do it,” Leo said.

Ray still can't smell into what this last assignment looks like. But it seems that this will be easy to solve but difficult in a sense.

“Group leadership cannot be moved in any way unless you pay the amount of DP we specify. The transfer of group leaders can only be done twice per group. The person who has been the chairman of a group cannot hold another group.”

One person can only lead one group. Secret begins to show an unnatural price for the removal of the group's chairman.

“First transfer for fifty thousand DP. And, the second transfer ..”

“Five hundred thousand?! That's an unreasonable amount!”

No one will have DP touch that number. Secret may say the removal of the chairman can be done twice but in reality the second transfer is clearly impossible.

But from this Ray understands some things about the final exam.

‘DP will obviously play an important role in the final task. It's possible, this is the impact of Secret accelerating the arrival of the final exam.’

Ray has no guarantees but he is confident in his assumptions. D Point is not created in vain, besides that the Market may be really used well.

It is impossible for Secret to create something just for the convenience of his guinea pigs.
