The Degree

The Degree
The Degree IV's

Ray and the others went to a deserted place to discuss some things. At first there was a little trouble because Eric was a little rebellious and determined to beat up Arthur. But thanks to his leg being shot it is quite easy to hold it.

Even so annoying because Ray had to buy handcuffs to hold them.

“Oi! Get off me, my legs are limping so you don't have to tie me up like this!” Eric complained, at first glance he seemed to want to cry.

How not? Ray didn't handcuff his legs. He simply handcuffed one of his unharmed legs and handcuffed it with his hands. That allowed him to not act.

“Now let's start the discussion. I'll outline the final task. No problem, right?” ask Ray.

Leo, Terumi and Erina had no problem at all, while on the other hand Eric had no choice.

There were fifty groups with a minimum of one member and a maximum of two hundred people. Each group has one chairman, which if the leader is killed its members will be eliminated after forty minutes if it does not succeed in finding a new group.

Each group will have one gray key like the one Ray, Terumi and Leo belong to.

“There are fifty keys and we have to collect ten to get the golden key. Can be interpreted there will only be five groups who are entitled to the puzzle to complete this task.”

“If we are in alliance, then there are only seven more keys left, yes?” mummified Terumi.

They have a good starting line for starters. Alliances are profitable but not the most profitable. Ray knew a way in which the chances of him solving the puzzle were much greater than the others.

It's just that there are annoying variables like Mona and Arthur. There is no difficult puzzle if faced with Mona's analytical skills and collecting keys is not difficult for Arthur with his Degree.

“Will I continue,” said Ray. “The transfer of the chairman requires tremendous costs. Not that it is difficult to do it, it's just that the task this time is very dependent on the DP itself.”

DP really becomes the center of the final task. Starting from the change of leader, out of town even living costs for the outside world and various other things.

People who have DP wealth will become very strong later. Even in the modern era the phrase money controls the world still applies.

“I want to confirm this if you don't mind. Can you show me how much DP you have?” Ray accesses his watch and shows the DP he has without a doubt. “I have about twenty thousand.”

“S-as much as that?!” Terumi was surprised not to play, she did not seem to expect Ray to save that much.

“Eh? What's the problem?” leo asked confusedly while revealing his. “Punyaku is also in thirty thousands.”

Not only Leo but Erina and Eric also have a total DP in the range of three to forty thousand. Terumi seemed to be in disbelief that the others were storing that much. He hesitantly and shamefully showed his.

“I ... there is only this ..”

Ray and the others only furrowed their brows except for Erina who was flat. Surely they wouldn't believe that the number would be that small. The DP Terumi collected at the Open World should exceed that number.

Anyone didn't think that Terumi's finances would be that bad. From the outside he looked like a learned man who skimmed for the future. But unexpectedly the woman was a wasteful person.

Ray must reevaluate his assessment of Terumi.

“Well, it doesn't matter,” Ray continues the topic of conversation. “As we know that DP is the main lead in the final assignment. Its existence so far is only vague but now it is clear how important.”

Ray should have had five times more than he has now. If it wasn't for having to buy a bomb to carry out his plan, Ray would probably be one of the people with the most DP.

‘It's possible that Arthur has a bigger DP than ours, I've never seen him shop or anything. As if he himself didn't know how to use it.’

Ray's not worried about Mona. The woman had previously spent a lot of things like clothes and other useless items. Even if Mona had it, the number might not be much.

“We should be aware of how important DP is. Exchange to cash is tempting but please remember that this time the task may not take place in a short time.”

Not to mention the final task being carried out in the outside world. They could not act prominently or end up dead because of such recklessness. Eliminating opponents in public places without revealing the existence of the Degree, that was the essence of this task.

This was completely different from the previous tasks. They can't act recklessly or Secret will take them to the gallows.

“Tak only DP, it is possible that cash has other purposes besides living expenses. Otherwise, Secret won't do anything as troublesome as converting money.”

Money makes the world go round. A phrase that cannot be disputed. But is for Secret money only for the needs of life? The urge for people to work? Does Secret really have no other thoughts?

Ray would bet everything he had on the odds that Secret had considered the other possibility of using cash for this final task.

“Yes. Most likely Secret did not expect this task to end quickly. He also did not give a time limit to complete it,” Leo has the same opinion as Ray.

If you want this task to end as soon as possible, then the best way is not to make them fight in the outside world because it will endanger the identity of the Degree.

But instead, Secret let Degree users complete their tasks in a city like Jakarta. Even if Jakarta is no longer the capital, the population is still very dense.

It is not easy to fight in such a place. Thus the users of the Degree must assess and have a mature strategy to get the key from other groups.

Silence alone will not be useful, in this task all kinds of strategies will be used. Ray himself was honestly looking forward to the time where he saw how stressful the final task was. But on the one hand he was also sad because this pleasure was about to end.

“Despite Secret's goal or whatever,” said Eric who gave up breaking out of his handcuffs. “Don't we determine who will go with whom? Most likely we will be separated.”

That's a reasonable possibility. If they were in the same one place then there was a chance that some fools would instantly make a huge fuss. Moreover, once again, Secret was not such a good organization.
