“So. Then, what did your union order to do?”
“It ...” Gilbert looked troubled and was reluctant to say it. The look on his face was very clear he showed.
It is not difficult to force it but a small push will only temporarily affect him and Ray will need to do it later.
It was troublesome and therefore there was no need to take half-measures.
“Earthied, give me a knife.”
Without much asking Terumi took the knife and gave it to her. He didn't try to ask for a reason or see what Ray would do next with the knife.
“Hei, Gilbert. Do you know how great a doctor is?”
Ray started playing the knife. He polished the edge of his blade with his index finger until it slightly injured him when pressing the taper end of his knife.
“Y-yes, they heal the sick.” Gilbert answered fearfully when he saw Ray's cold face while playing his knife.
“Ya .. they are able to heal the sick. But not up there. They are also able to perform organ transplants which are vulnerable parts of humans.”
Ray began to point his knife at Gaston's body, from his chest to his stomach.
“I was so amazed by them, there was even a part of me wanting to be like them. Even so I can't do it.”
Saving people's lives has never been a good fit for him. The part that suits him is the opposite: taking people's lives.
“While I can't be a doctor but at least I want to try to remove human organs for the satisfaction of my curiosity. Learn the best is to experience it directly.”
Ray slightly pierced Gaston's stomach, as a result of which a little blood started to come out of his shirt.
Seeing that Gilbert had no power to hold him anymore and finally gave up on the threat.
“The union chief ordered us to drop the bomb and make a mess at will! We can do whatever we want, that's the order!”
Ray immediately pulled his knife from Gaston's stomach.
“Better if you say it from the beginning. Then who heads all this?”
“Our union chief who gave the order, Arga—”
“No. That's not. I'm sure someone controls your union leader or someone else is hiding behind his shadow.”
“What do you mean?”
Gilbert's stunned. It's easy enough to guess that he doesn't know anything about the mastermind at play.
Ray couldn't push the question any further. It would be annoying to have a lot of thoughts about completely unrelated things.
“So, thank you for the cooperation.” Ray without a doubt stabbed Gilbert in the neck with his knife while he shot Gaston in the throat.
Terumi and Mein were surprised because Ray did it without blinking at all.
“Why did you kill them ..” Terumi is more shaken by the fact that Ray chooses to kill without letting go.
“They are criminals, it is appropriate to be punished.”
“But! Could they want to repent and become a better person—”
Mein then interrupts Terumi's words that really don't make sense.
“You think this is a place that allows such a thing to exist? Here we are required to fight each other.”
Terumi still seemed unable to accept reality. He remained convinced by his thought that killing people recklessly was a wrong action.
“Enjoyed, remember that they unhesitatingly attacked Mein who was a woman. You can deduce from that that they have no heart and have already killed at least one life.”
Ray walked over to Terumi who was bowed down miserably. With an unusual face he made, Ray smiled full of gentleness and pat Terumi on the head.
Terumi who saw Ray smile then blushed, especially when her hair was ruffled like a child.
“At least consider the deaths of these two as a form of revenge for the people they once killed.”
“B-good.”
Terumi nodded and bowed to Ray.
Mein who was looking at the scene looked at Ray with fear in a sense. In silence he concludes one thing about Ray that he won't share with others.
Not only did Miss Erina yet she managed to subdue this woman in the blink of an eye, was that right?! This man .. must be a female killer! Her thought.
Thanks to this man the plan that Ray had prepared for two weeks was wiped out and ended in vain.
Anyone will be annoyed when what has been prepared is destroyed by unexpected situations.
“You want to come with me or stay here looking after her, Terumi?”
If Terumi did not come along then her movements would be more free and there was no doubt for her to act.
But if Terumi were to participate then she would probably be a very strong guardian and be suitable to protect her.
Ray could not use his Degree because he himself did not know how his strength was, therefore the existence of a person capable of using the Degree by his side would be of great help.
“Of course I will come but is it okay to leave it alone?” Terumi is worried about Mein.
Leaving a wounded girl on the battlefield is like leaving a diamond in a thief's village.
“Liet me, even though my strength has reached the limit of its use, I can still take care of myself.”
Mein quickly dispelled those unnecessary worries.
Although this situation is detrimental but I always get unexpected information. So, I can conclude that Mein can only play a few roles at a time. There seems to be a certain kind of cooldown of his Degree. Thought Ray.
“That's great, let's go, Terumi.”
“Ya!”
Ray went in the direction Mein had pointed out earlier. There are a lot of bodies and fighting. Because Ray himself did not know which friend or opponent so he chose to leave and keep going.
Terumi continued to fidget for some time but she did not complain about anything and followed Ray.
He was well aware that now was not the time to overcome a small fight. Had they found the rebel leader then this chaos would have been over.
“This place has really been destroyed. What kind of cruel person makes this kind of situation.”
Terumi could not help her complaints because of the chaotic situation she found.
The destroyed houses and shops which to build it require very little DP.
“Ya, therefore let's head immediately to its center to stop this all.”
Ray and Terumi pass through a large building that is not destroyed. When they tried to pass through it, the building suddenly exploded as the two passed by.
Neither Ray nor Terumi was blown away by the force of his explosion. Their bodies were slightly abrasive due to flying rocks but fortunately nothing was fatal.
“What .... who just was it?”
“It looks like there's a bomb in there.”
Ray and Terumi tried to get up at that moment as well there were some people appearing from behind him.
“Ku ha ha ha, it looks like the person is dead.”
“Yes! No one can live if trapped in the middle of the explosion.”
Ray doesn't know who he's referring to, nor does he really care about him. But the thing that made him interested was that someone seemed to be walking out from inside the destroyed and burning building.
The man hugs a girl on his back, when Ray comes out familiar with his face.
“You guys really did it, yeah. I was surprised, so surprised that it made me angry.”
The people who were the suspects of the blasting looked in disbelief, even one of them fell to their knees because his legs were limp.
“Must be! No one should have survived the explosion!”
“Indeed no, it is absolutely impossible for humans to live when caught in the middle of such a catastrophe. It's just that you guys are so unlucky because I'm the one in it.”
He put down the body of the girl who was scarred and unconscious. Terumi immediately approached him without even being asked, it was because she had a great sense of humanity.
The man immediately fell to his knees, some of his clothes burning with his skin but it did not affect him much.
“If it wasn't me who was there then his death would have been guaranteed.”
“Basic monsters!
“S-who are you really?!”
His face bowed as he staggered and slowly stood up, “I ... Retsuji Arthur.”
