“Everything ... just for me?” Arthur murmured in surprise, surely he did not expect all this chaos because to kill him.
Arthur initially would not believe if anyone was after him for no apparent reason but after seeing all this, it was even more difficult not to believe him.
“Why me?” murmured Arthur.
Virgo starts giggling because of something, “Of course because you will cause more problems than anyone here.”
“So there,” Virgo is staring at Ben who is protecting some people with his Degree, “He and his group are annoying but the problem is you are more troublesome than them.”
Arthur simply kept silent without giving his response. This shouldn't happen unless Virgo finds out something about his Degree.
Either way his Degree is something that is close to unreasonable. Even Arthur himself admitted that his Degree did not make sense.
“You ... where did you know my Degree?” arthur asked, his head feels chaotic at this time because things always give him a big surprise. It was hard for him to remain calm with his state of mind in disarray.
“I? I don't know your Degree. I'm just analyzing and collecting data about you. From the Endruid incident to Open World.”
Virgo explains that many times Arthur managed to get out of the situation is absurd. At first Virgo was convinced that it was just luck but after some events were discovered, luck seemed impossible.
“I've also found out about you in four tasks before Open World. And, who would have guessed? If you manage to stay alive after drowning for saving someone.”
Arthur doesn't expect Virgo to go that far. The time he sinks occurs in the third task, when Arthur gets the option to step on the correct box in order to survive the slowly falling ceiling.
At that time Arthur did his best to save the people who were with him. At one time, someone fell into the pool when the wall was already a few feet above their heads.
Arthur dropped himself into the pool at the time to save her. The man may have survived but Arthur could not get through the door because it was blocked by the ceiling.
‘At that time I had to dive in to find the secret door that was connected to the next task. At that time I also understood my Degree.’
Humans should not be able to dive as deep as ten meters without special equipment but Arthur could go through it without difficulty. From that he understood the unreasonable usefulness of his Degree.
“You may be able to hide it from the main stage but you can't keep quiet,” Virgo laughed amusedly as he saw Arthur fall into confusion and panic.
“Then what do you want from me?” Arthur doesn't have many options at the moment because Chelsea and Mona are his captives
“What are you deaf?” ask Alexis who is on Virgo's side. “Since the beginning we want you to change lives. One life to save two. It's a fair offer.”
“That's impossible!” Arthur refused loudly. “If I give up my life, there's no guarantee you won't kill Mona and Chelsea!”
Arthur is not afraid of death, he could sacrifice his life for the two but unfortunately he has no guarantor that Mona and Chelsea will survive after all this.
“Fu fu fu, of course you are not that stupid,” said Seirama with a amused laugh.
“Then finish this with a fight. I want to see if your Degree will help you or not. Even so, I'm worried that this is a bad choice.”
Arthur just furrowed his brows, ‘He must be planning something.’
It's hard to believe that Virgo would waste his chance to finish him off. Arthur is already in a position where he can not act anything but Virgo just throw the condition by holding a fight.
‘What could he possibly want to ensure my Degree by doing this?’
Arthur has no other possibility than that. Virgo wants to know his Degree through his own conclusions even though he can actually force Arthur to show it straight away.
“You're thinking why I didn't confirm your Degree through that watch, right?” virgo said, as if reading Arthur's mind.
“The answer is simple,” Virgo slightly closed his eyes before looking at Arthur sharply. “I want to get answers through myself. Sure, I'll ask you to show me your degree. If the conclusion I made was wrong, then at least I have tried.”
Arthur understands a little what Virgo says. That person had been searching for a lot of information relating to Arthur especially the absurd events that had occurred.
Virgo has taken pains to do so only to investigate a one-man Degree. Virgo is now in the final stages of knowing it, therefore he does not want to take the easy road and stay on his path.
If Virgo chooses to cut the process by directly forcing Arthur to reveal it, then all the efforts Virgo has done so far will be in vain.
“You are an unreasonable person,” Arthur smiled faintly over Virgo's actions.
“Fu fu, that goes for you too. Among the people playing on the front lines, only you and the mysterious Ray Morgan. You may be indirectly helped by Degree, different from Ray who never used it.”
Arthur could not say anything about Ray because he himself was still at a loss as to how to deal with the person. Whether he was a friend or an opponent is still unclear.
Even if he acts like a comrade, Arthur's premonition always considers him an enemy.
Arthur shook his head and refocused himself on Virgo. He began to pick up the knife in his pocket and put the gun down. What Virgo wants is a duel like this.
“Do not regret if I reverse the situation.”
“That's if you can. Remember that I will not hesitate to cheat by doing something to two boys there.”
Arthur knew that. Even if he manages to get Virgo cornered and close to killing him, this guy won't hesitate to use Mona and Chelsea for his safety.
‘That's why he wanted a fight that I shouldn't be able to win. It's a bold bet. Between me who managed to reverse destiny, or fate that managed to bring me down.’
Virgo is not a fool. He's an ingenious man who knows the best way to reveal Arthur's Degree. Among the many people in this place, perhaps Virgo is the only one who has managed to investigate so far if Mona is excluded.
“Now what if we just start?” virgo said, “Are you going to successfully defy destiny once again? It will be an interesting thing, fu fu fu.”
