The Degree

The Degree
Arthur's Discovery

It took over thirty minutes to complete the shootout that occurred. Although Sebastian managed to escape, in fact there were about five hundred intruders left behind.

Surely they tried to escape after running out of bullets for shooting people but there were very few of them who managed to leave.

Although the attack was over, peace did not come. That was because the scene that was happening right now looked like hell. There was a sea of corpses that had fallen due to the surprise attack.

Some wept for the people closest to him, there were even people who apologized for using the corpses of people as a shield to protect themselves.

“Really terrible sight.” Ray muttered while shaking his head.

Ray may already have thoughts about events like this but he never thought it would be this severe. In addition, he also could not do much to help him because what was in his mind was only a solution to keep him alive.

He doesn't care about how other people will die and get hurt. The most important part is his own safety.

“How can ... Sebastian being a traitor? More precisely ... since when did this happen?”

Ray realizes that Mein and Erina are deeply shaken by the betrayal of those closest to them. How not? People who can be said to be the closest people they are in fact the enemy behind the blanket.

Sebastian has been with the Order for two years. Although not in contact with Mein and Erina during that time, it does not make their relationship bad.

“This is a big mistake. I was wrong to aim.” Erina said as she bit her lip.

Erina had previously suspected that the Order would defect and eliminate her according to the signs Ray conveyed during their conversation.

For that reason Erina secretly gave the order to separate their supplies and weapons with Blueeast as a precautionary measure. But who can guess that the closest people are the traitors.

Right now everyone was gathering in front of the camp that was busy tending to the wounds of the Order. People with a doctor's degree and who have medical abilities are trying to save his life.

“Alright for me, sister,” Erina said for the first time to call the Order 'brother' after so long.

Ray just touched his shoulder to calm him down. Erina looked at Ray with sadness and anxiety.

“You don't have to worry. The Order seems to have a unique Degree that makes it stronger than ordinary people. In addition, you have felt the efficacy of Serum D.”

Erina was able to move her hands only after some recovery time which basically required her at least two months. The increase in healing is clearly not owned by humans.

If it were not for the efficacy of Serum D it would all be impossible to happen.

“At least I'm sure that the wound didn't destroy any vital organs. At most it only hurts a little. Our hope lies in how the users of the Degree of medicine and the healing qualities of Serum D.”

Although only slightly injured his vital organs it remains a threat because the life of the Order does not mean it has been saved. At least he lost a lot of blood.

“... you are right. Thank you, Ray.” Erina was a little calm but that didn't mean she wasn't worried.

Arthur who saw all these things just clenched his fists tightly, “Sial! If I had known earlier none of this would have happened!”

“Arthur ...,” Mona rousing Arthur's hand with worry and trying to calm him even though impressed in vain.

Hearing what he said made Ray a little curious.

If I don't get it wrong, Arthur and Mona are the first people to approach the Order while talking about Sebastian being a traitor. Her thought.

Ray was quite far away from the stage and the scene at the time but he sure saw Arthur and Mona running towards the Order.

“You know? What do you mean?” asked Mein who slightly strengthened her voice.

Arthur was a little silent and seemed to think of something. Surely Ray wouldn't let him put anything in his head.

“Silence will only make your position bad. Situated like this is most likely anyone could be an intruder,” said Ray coldly with his sharp gaze. “I hope you don't think too much, Arthur. Even if the others trust you so much, I won't be like that.”

Arthur returned Ray's gaze sharply. He felt a little offended by his words but what Ray said was the truth.

It's only natural that this situation must have surprised everyone. Thought Arthur.

Arthur took a deep breath, “Huh, alright. I'll shorten it.”

According to the story, Arthur had suspected that something had happened three days ago because the preparation was slow. It should have been if nothing had happened his preparations would have arrived three days sooner.

In addition, the fact that Virgo also provides a schedule of attacks in the right time encourages Arthur to strengthen his suspicions.

He personally conducted an investigation and had several people confirm it.

“I found an oddity on Redwest's attitude lately. Those who had initially tried to get closer to the members of the Blueeast guild suddenly stayed away from him. Surely I focus my investigation on you guys.” Arthur looked at Mein, Erina and Ray in turn.

Seeing his reaction Ray actually looked surprised while Erina and Mein were flat. Arthur can conclude that Ray may not know anything or it could be just a charade.

“I ordered them to separate the supplies for us personally .. because I suspected, brother will defect.” Erina still looked sad so not cold-minded.

Arthur then nodded, although he did not believe it completely but he did not pursue it any further, “As I was about to do so unintentionally I saw a group of people moving silently.”

Encouraged by his curiosity Arthur follows secretly and discovers there are some weapons hidden. At that moment his focus was sidetracked from Redwest to that small group.

Until a few hours ago Arthur accidentally found Sebastian going to sneak around with great caution. Arthur is unable to follow him because Sebastian is moving fast and very alert.

“In the end I decided to wait for him but he did not come back so I had to go somewhere else. Until when I came back, Mona revealed it to me.” Arthur's gaze changed to Mona who nodded.

“I accidentally saw Sebastian giving directions to some people with full weaponry. At first I thought they were party security members but then I heard Sebastian deliver ‘Virgo speed up plans and will arrive at twelve o'clock today’.”

Mein took one step back due to the shock she received. Even Ray himself did not expect Virgo would move this fast.

“Jam twelve .. that means there are still less than two hours left before they arrive. It's a very short time considering many people have a big mental shake.”

Ray wasn't sure they'd make it through. Judging from any side Ray ensures that this is the end of Redwest and Blueeast.

The only thing Ray can do is to do his plan as quickly as possible. Ray no longer doubts the fact that there will be many fatalities.

“We must immediately notify this. Mein, let's gather the people. In a situation where the Order will not be able to contribute any more, then only you can lead them, Erina.” Ray held Erina's hand and tried to wake her up slowly.

Erina nodded and immediately left to make preparations as well as Ray and Mein. Arthur and Mona just keep quiet to see their departure.

“What should we do, Arthur?” Mona asked worriedly.

Arthur just furrowed his brows and looked troubled. He recalled the moment when he walked back after giving up waiting for Sebastian.

At that time Arthur also found other oddities. The existence of someone who is not from Redwest, Blueeast or Rebellion. It was clear that the two were looking at each other.

Arthur was about to call and come to him but when the man went through a tree, his existence was no longer found like a ghost.

Who is that guy? Could there be a group other than Rebellion moving behind the scenes? I don't know why I feel like nothing good will happen in the future. Her thought.
