On the other hand Arthur and Mona go around to make sure that no other intruders are left.

They certainly do not do an easy job considering the identification is really very tiring, especially when many people start to use the equipment.

“What is this? Why do I smell charred meat?” Mona began to wonder and at once she heard the joyful cheers of the people. In the hall where the bodies were supposed to be cleared was a huge blaze.

“About what happened there? There's no way they're going to continue the party at a time like this, is there, Arthur?” Mona looks curious and sees Arthur who somehow makes a frightened face. “What's wrong with you? You are not a person who will be afraid of ghosts or the like.”

Arthur immediately looked at Mona with surprise and saw that innocent face made him unable to convey, that the smell of charred and large flames came from corpses and intruders who were burned alive.

Anyone would be able to imagine what people who were blinded by anger could do. Arthur initially thought that everyone would not come to the conclusion to burn him alive.

There seems to be a strong suspicion that someone added another fuel to the blazing fire.

“Nothing. We better get on with our work. Less than two hours until another major attack will occur.”

Arthur is more worried about what will happen in the future than what is happening now.

Even if Arthur is fed up and angry that these people are throwing away his humanity, there's not much he can do for now. Being a spectator was the most painful thing for him especially watching man lose his humanity.

I don't know who acted and caused all this to happen but the goal is clear. Thought Arthur.

His only goal was to make these people unafraid of death by being blinded by anger. That's an incredibly dangerous and extremely cruel little trick.

“I still don't understand you mean, do you too an intruder, Mein?” Ray said coldly as he looked at the blade of the blade that was ready to tear his throat.

Even Ray himself won't be able to as long as his throat is cut. He's not an angel any more a god who won't die with any grievous wounds.

“Don't joke! I heard your previous conversation with someone.” Mein said coldly and pressed her knife against Ray's throat. “Who are you talking to? What are you planning? Is it possible that you play behind the scenes?”

Ray sighed deeply, “It looks like you didn't hear the details well, huh? You deserve to suspect me.”

“What do you mean? Clearly you are saying a word that is clearly treason.”

“Then in which part is the betrayal?” Ray tried to see Mein's reaction but her gaze pierced so Ray gave up. “Good. I admit I did make a call with someone. But you misunderstand one thing.”

Mein raised her eyebrows, “Misunderstand? What does it mean?”

“Ray sighed deeply, “I've expected.” said with some relief, “You must not have listened to it from the beginning so you didn't understand it clearly.”

Mein narrowed her eyes with a suspicious look. He thought that Ray was trying to brag to him. Even so about Mein not believing anything without reason and clear evidence.

“I did not hear the beginning but I remember you harassing cooperation and do not interfere with each other. From those things it was enough for me to deduce your position.”

Ray knew that fooling Mein was never an easy job to do. He slightly regretted his foolishness in making a call out in the open like this assuming no one heard it.

“Your conclusion is wrong because in fact my actions are closely related to morals without fear of death that every member now has. Do you already know the situation on the field there?”

Mein frowned, she only heard painful screams and joyful cheers. In addition, in some places he smelled the scent of charred meat that made his mind understand easily.

“... what is it possible they burn intruders?” Mein looked terrified as she imagined what kind of hell was going on in the distance.

Ray nodded with certainty, “Yes, I must do this dirty work for the sake of all of you. And, I did not expect someone who should be most meritorious to be suspected of being a traitor.” Ray's sharp gaze was fixed on Mein.

Though hoping Mein would let go soon, the woman was clearly not stupid enough to do so.

“Even if so, with whom did you speak before? I want to deny this but it is most likely that you put yourself in the same place as Sebastian.”

“You think I'm working with Sebastian or Virgo?” Ray raised his eyebrows in surprise, “That's an interesting conspiracy yet you know? I never liked working as someone's subordinate.”

Ray never likes to be ruled by someone because it will remind him of all the cruel things his father ordered in the past. The reason Ray followed Erina, if it wasn't for the shackles of his Degree then Ray would never have bowed to her.

Ray knew that his silence would lead to great suspicion on him. Mein could easily kill him especially the war was going on soon.

It was easy for him to boast that Ray was killed on the battlefield or by any remaining intruders.

“I made a deal with someone. Surely this deal happened due to the initiative of both of us.”

“What kind of deal?”

“I don't want to say it.” Ray's words make Mein react but before he overstress Ray re-emphasizes, “But I will tell you.”

Seeing Ray sigh very long made Mein feel worried because Ray did not usually behave like that.

“I'll do an amazingly despicable and disgusting job that is, this.” Ray pointed at the puff of smoke and flames in the distance, “I will make the flames of their anger even greater and direct their hatred towards Virgo and his troops.”

Ray also explained that he made the men burn the intruders and if possible the victims because there was no time to make a funeral.

This place will be destroyed anyway. Whether burying a body or burning a body makes no difference.

Hearing that Mein quickly took a step away and forgot to threaten Ray. He dropped his knife and did not care anymore because his stomach began to rise and his face looked painful.

Ray just smiled bitterly, “This is creepy and disgusting, right? I made this deal with Arthur. Instead I received a large amount of DP and asked him not to bother with this anymore.”

Mein should understand that bringing this up will only wreak havoc in the future.

“You ... can really do it? How can you be okay?” Mein looked at Ray like she was staring at something scary.

Ray picked up Mein's knife and walked over to hand her over. His own face was impressed like one who had just swallowed his own heart.

“This should be painful no matter how cruel someone is, making this event happen is an act of the devil without a heart.”

Mein looked sadly at Ray and pity. He wanted to take the knife extended by Ray. But one in a thousand chance Mein did not imagine that the knife would pass through her hand, continuing to move and penetrate her stomach.

Blood came out of his stomach and mouth. His gaze was fixed on Ray who was with his apathetic face.

“If I still had a heart, maybe I wouldn't be interested in doing this. Ah, and unfortunately it wasn't Arthur who made this deal with me. But a stranger who has not shown himself.” Ray shifted his knife and made the wound on Mein's stomach grow bigger.

“Me ... why?” Mein was still in disbelief and angrily he tried to grab Ray. Ray's movement was very fast.

He removed his knife and used his body weight to knock Mein down. Ray sat down to straddle her as her hands choked the girl's neck so as not to make a sound.

It would be terrible if others heard it because Ray could no longer make a lie or an acceptable reason.

“I also want to know why I did it. Maybe because I'm getting bored.”

Mein who continued to bleed limply tried to release the hand that was strangling her neck.

“Only ... due to boredom?”

It was hard to believe for him that all these actions were caused by one's boredom. This is not a level that humans can say.

“Consider that.” said Ray. your “Degree can make you into any role you can take on. Just in case, I will break your neck and ensure your death.”

Ray exerted all his strength in his hand until the sound of 'Krek' is quite loud. Mein's eyes bulged and cried, her breathing shrank and her body began to cool down to be a sign of certainty she died.

Releasing his grasp, Ray does not realize at all that the flames from the burning corpse somehow begin to spread. Not only to some campsites but the forest where it is currently located cannot be said to be safe because the fire began to spread.

Before fleeing, Ray chose to strip Mein completely and leave her completely naked. Ray certainly doesn't have a boost to the corpse. His actions were done to make Mein's death not a murder but an accident.

Not to forget Ray took a large enough trunk and stuck it into Mein's stomach. Finished burning his clothes elsewhere and making sure Mein's body started burning, Ray walked away indifferently.

“Finally, it has all started. Even so I wonder why they started before Rebellion attacked.”
