Ray prepared to attack Arthur, as well as Erina who had already positioned herself by his side. The situation between them was very stressful, even Ray did not rule out the possibility that he was also tense.

Arthur's degree has been revealed magnificently thanks to Virgo. But Ray did not welcome him well, it was because there were things that disturbed him.

‘I never thought something like that would be Degree.’

Ray cannot ignore the fact that the Degree itself has no limits in covering things. It is possible, there are people who have certain fictional characters as their Degree.

“Ray, I don't want to be hostile to you now,” Arthur insisted on persuading him. “Let's investigate first what's really going on here. Erina was on the scene from the beginning, she had to know what happened exactly.”

Indeed investigating the situation to be clearer is an important stage that must be passed. If Ray fights Arthur but never knows the real problem, their fight will result in nothing.

Ray is also amazed that Arthur threw away his ego by saying he did not want to be hostile even though he had accused Ray of murder. Not having shame is beneficial sometimes.

“Let's assume that Mona did it by force. However, will the fact that he shot Terumi change?” asked Ray in a flat tone.

“I don't care what the reason is. All I think is he used his gun to shoot Terumi.”

Of course, Ray doesn't care what Mona did on the basis of the shooting, he just wants to finish off the woman. Even so, Ray had another purpose for this.

“Please,” Arthur begs to ignore his pride and bow as the Japanese usually do, “I will do anything for you, on condition that Mona will be fine.”

Ray in his heart wanted to smile because his first move had worked. Surely Ray had expected something like this to arrive because he had predicted it.

“You are aware of what you just said?”

Arthur nodded, there was no way he would just talk so easily. All of this, what he said contained its own risks for him.

“I'm very conscious. Of course, it all depends on what you ask. Things beyond my ability and something unreasonable will not be accepted.”

Ray wasn't stupid enough to ask for the impossible. Instead of getting something, Ray will just end up getting suspected. But because of this, this is what Ray is waiting for. Then it's time to start acting.

“Ray,” call Erina. “We'd better listen first to what prompted Mona to do it. I don't really understand his condition. Not a bad step to listen to it.”

“However what's the point of doing it? My anger is with the fact that he shot Terumi!” Ray denied with a little anger.

“Yes, but don't you think Terumi will be angry or sad if you attack Mona at this stage? Keep thinking cold, Ray. It's not like you usually are.”

Erina began to approach Ray who was clearly far from the word cold-headed, while Arthur simply observed with worry. If he were to speak out one thing just wrong this time, Ray would obviously explode.

“I'm also angry because betrayal is something I hate. Even so it does not mean you have the right to judge him just like that, Ray.”

Ray slightly lowered his head and clenched his fists tightly, he was obviously still very emotional but Erina's words entered his mind. And, every word Erina spoke was true.

“However, he doesn't deserve to be forgiven!”

“T need not forgive him. You just have to listen to it. If there's a situation that makes Mona do it, it's not a bad thing to listen to her. Perhaps there is a mastermind behind all this.”

Ray was a little stunned, “Dalang, you said? You think there's someone who can control all this?!” Ray rejected the possibility.

“Possibilities are possibilities. Even my assault, something that seemed impossible yet really happened. We can't think about what's going to happen and what might happen. This place is a hive of possibilities.”

Things can happen beyond everyone's expectations, even the unthinkable will happen.

“It ...,” Ray intends to make his denial but he is out of words.

Until Erina arrived near him and hugged her gently.

“You're not usually very angry, this is the second time I've seen you like this. Not bad to occasionally show your emotions, but please keep thinking no matter how bad your emotions.”

Ray seemed to vibrate and until finally Erina's message was conveyed to him, “. Forgive me for being stubborn.”

Seeing Ray calmed down made Arthur breathe with great relief. He had no idea what would happen if they started a bloody battle here.

Even though his Degree helped him a lot, Arthur was not sure he could get out of this situation with good circumstances. Even thinking about the possibility of staying alive was difficult.

“Then ... let's listen to the explanation.” Ray decides to listen to her and leads the way.

Arthur once again sighed in relief, “Thank you for listening.”

With a limping path Arthur follows Ray behind him along with Erina. He looked at the girl and thanked her.

“I don't know how to repay you. But for now let me say thank you first. You have helped me so much.”

Erina slightly smiled, “Not a problem. Honestly, I don't want a split between us because you're people I can't let go of. Surely, you understand my reasons.”

Arthur knew clearly, it was because both Ray and himself were talented people who were even able to deal with Degree users despite not using them for combat.

“Yes. Once again I owe you. Next time I'll reply to him.”

“Then I will charge it in the future.”

Ray who listened to the conversation of the two silently, really, he could not help but smile. Ray could not see his face but he was sure, his lips were smiling very wide. Almost like something a criminal would have.
