The Part 10

Matthew seemed to harden his jaw, while looking at David's hand that was coiled around Chloe's waist.

However, after he lifted his gaze, Matthew then smiled as if he was mocking David and Chloe, whom he looked at in turn.

"Good officer you say?" matthew asked, smiling. "What do you mean, he's good at serving men like you?"

Chloe then removed David's hand from her body, then shifted slightly away from the man.

Chloe knew that it was David's embrace, which probably led Matthew to say that.

However, even so, Chloe still felt very upset with Matthew, who uttered a very condescending speech.

"God! ... If only, Chloe was just what you imagined." David pulls Chloe closer to him.

"Sir?!" chloe said, while looking at David who was staring at her, and looked like he would not let go of her embrace of Chloe.

"Why don't you just fire him?" David looked back at Matthew. "You don't want to, she'll definitely consider working with me."

Again, Matthew seemed to harden his jaw, staring at David fixedly.

"He can submit his resignation letter" Matthew said.

"Nrt! ... His problem. Chloe's too loyal to your daddy. I don't think he's gonna resign, as long as your daddy still hires him....

"Sir!" chloe said, trying to interrupt the conversation between David and Matthew.

"Chelle! ... Come with me now!" Matthew yells at Chloe, and is seen walking away, leading to a freight elevator.

However, due to being scared enough to walk on the open rooftop floor, Chloe still did not move from where she stood.

And maybe because he was impatient to wait, Matthew turned around and said out loud. "Chelle! ... Didn't you hear me?"

Chloe flinched, then dared herself to slowly move her legs, while her entire body trembled violently.

"Basic fool!" david said, then immediately walked over to Chloe, and held her. "Chloe's afraid of heights!"

No one said anything more, as Chloe used a freight elevator that moved down to the bottom of the building, along with David and Matthew.

Until they got out of the elevator, Matthew immediately said,

"I don't want to see you with her anymore!"

David, who heard Matthew's ban on Chloe, just smiled cynically, looked at Chloe fixedly, and said,

"Remember what I said! ... For your sake, you should hurriedly consider, to work with me."

Spontaneously, Chloe then nodded in agreement, upon hearing the words from David.

"Bye, Chloe! ... See you soon!" david said, smiling.

"Bye, Sir!" sahut Chloe's.

Still with his uncaring attitude, David who put on the look of a fool, then glanced at Matthew.

David did not even say goodbye to Matthew, as he passed away leaving Chloe with Matthew there.

"You like her?" asked Matthew, who still looked furious. "I'll make you—"

"I respect you, as I honor Mister Nathan. I've known, if you don't like my existence....

... But can you be a little generous to give me some help?" chloe interrupted Matthew's words.

Matthew fell silent, and did not continue with his stalled sentence earlier.

"From my early days working under Mister Nathan, I never intended to let him down. And I will try to keep it that way, until my working life is over....

... So I'm really hoping that you can help make it happen, by staying patient, as long as I'm your assistant. I'd be very grateful if you could help me....

... And you don't have to worry, because I can make sure, that it won't take too long. Because I'm going to submit my resignation letter, at the end of this month," Chloe continued.

Chloe took the note on the desk in front of a temporary office, which was the meeting place between Matthew and the project's head.

And after that, Chloe immediately gets ready to return to the main office, by moving into the car, which will deliver her and Matthew.

After a long time Matthew says nothing to Chloe, until they arrive at McLean's main office building, Matthew finally opens his voice.

"Are you planning to work for David?" ask Matthew.

"Ugh? ... What did you just say, sir?"

In the elevator, Chloe who was busy watching the file in her hand, did not hear well what Matthew said.

"You're thinking of resigning, because you're going to work for David?" Matthew repeated the question.

"The sir! ... You don't have to worry about it. Because for sure, as long as I'm working on you, then I won't betray your trust" Chloe said.

I don't know what the cause is, until Matthew looks sultry, then loosened the tie he wore.

Chloe who saw it, then returned to tidying the tie worn by Matthew, saying, saying,

"I'm sorry, sir! ... But right now, you will have a meeting with the President of JT Corp."

Meanwhile, Chloe, who then continued to tidy up the suit worn by Matthew, could still see with the tip of her eyes, if Matthew was looking at her.

Chloe pretends not to notice, however, until she finishes fixing Matthew's appearance.

Chloe turns around, and makes sure that she doesn't press the elevator button wrong, at the floor number that Matthew will be aiming for.

"Where's the meeting?" ask Matthew.

"Conference room." Coinciding with Chloe who mentioned the place that Matthew asked, the elevator door then opened.

In the conference room, the President of JT Corp was seen already there, and Chloe who greeted him first.

"Good day, sir!" Chloe.

"Good day, Miss Fern!" The man in his fifties, who was familiar with Chloe, returned Chloe's greeting with a smile.

"Mister Matthew McLean ... CEO McLean's property." Chloe introduced Matthew to the President of JT Corp.

The president of JT Corp immediately reached out his hand to Matthew, then shook hands with Matthew, greeting each other and making small talk, before they finally took their seats.

While the meeting at the venue took place, Chloe remained there, and noted the key points of the discussion, conducted by Matthew and the Chairman of JT Corp.

Until finally the meeting ended, and the Chairman of JT Corp was still making small talk, before he left there, saying,

"In that case, I'll let you know through Miss Fern. Thanks for the time."

"Miss Fern! ... I'm so grateful that you've helped, so that I can have a chance to meet with the CEO today." The president of JT Corp, reached out his hand to shake hands with Chloe.

"I'm just doing my job, Sir ... Thank you for your trust," said Chloe, then escorted the President of JT Corp, all the way out of the conference room.

When Chloe came back to Matthew, walking towards the elevator, Chloe then said,

"You can take your lunch break now, sir ... I've already made a reservation at restaurant xx, and your driver will drive you there."

"You didn't have lunch with me?" ask Matthew.

"Is there anything you need?" Chloe asked back.

"none. But...." Matthew seemed to hesitate.

"Then you can leave now. Your driver has been waiting downstairs. Excuse me, Sir!" sahut Chloe, flat.

Chloe was just about to pass away, intending to use a different elevator, but Matthew immediately blocked her steps.

"Where are you going? Why not take the same elevator as me?" ask Matthew.

"I still have to get back to my desk, sir." Chloe showed me the file in her hand.

"Just be with me. There's something I want to take in my work space" Matthew said, forcing.

Matthew, holding Chloe's arm, seemed to be dragging Chloe to the same elevator, whose door was now open.

"Change the reservation at that restaurant! Make the order for two people" Matthew said.
