The Part 46

I don't know what was in Matthew's mind, so since he gave the answer that felt hanging, until they went to dinner together, Matthew just more silent.

There was no explosive anger, no joke, no reaction shown by Matthew who just put on a flat face.

In fact, until the trip of those who came home from the restaurant, Matthew still locked his mouth tightly.

Although feeling very awkward, Chloe also did not want to force Matthew to talk. So Chloe just let Matthew drown in his own thoughts.

And as usual, after Chloe changed clothes, she immediately came to Matthew in her room, and accompanied the boss by sleeping there.

After a few nights Chloe accompanied Matthew, but only this time something unusual happened around midnight, when Chloe was fast asleep.

Chloe tried to gather her consciousness, when she had to wake up suddenly, because Matthew's voice groaned, as if he was in pain.

When Chloe turned on the table lamp by her side, she found that her boss was still on his back, and let out a groaning sound from his mouth.

Chloe sat down, then moved closer to Matthew.

Matthew was seen still closing his eyes, but his brows furrowed deeply, coupled with sweat that was almost as big as the grains of corn that filled his forehead.

"The sir! ... Are you okay?"

Chloe suspects Matthew is having a nightmare, so Chloe tries to wake him up.

A while passed, although Chloe tried to wake Matthew by patting him on the cheek, but there was no sign that Matthew would wake up from his sleep.

Because Matthew looked quite alarming, and so did his voice that sounded as if he had trouble breathing, so without thinking anymore, Chloe then hugged him and tried to make Matthew sit down.

Strangely enough, Matthew still looks the same, and actually looks very limp, so that Chloe must still hold him so that he does not fall.

"The sir! ... Please, wake up sir!" With her panic set in motion, Chloe repeated her words.

Seeing Matthew not react to anything Chloe did, creating memories of his daddy breathing his last breath, the situation felt similar to the present, flashed through Chloe's mind.

"Please...! Wake up...!"

Her chaotic mind, made Chloe's heart beat very fast, and Chloe even nearly cried.

Likewise with the entire body of Chloe who suddenly felt weak, because it was as if the incident with her daddy was being repeated now.

To keep her from thinking no-no, Chloe tried hard to keep her awake, that it was not her dying daddy who was in her arms, but Matthew.

"Sir...! Wake up! You're making me very scared...."

For the next time, Matthew finally reacted and moved his hand, although it looked very weak.

"Sir...! Are you okay?" ask Chloe.

"What's going on?" From his voice that asked, Matthew sounded still in a daze.

"You may have had a bad dream" Chloe replied, while still holding Matthew in her arms.

"But why are you so hard to wake up? Have you ever experienced anything like this before?" chloe asked hurriedly, out of curiosity.

"I had a bad dream?" Matthew sounded confused, to the point that he asked Chloe.

Later, Matthew seems to want to release Chloe's embrace from him, but Matthew looks still very limp.

So, if Chloe was late to catch him again, then Matthew who was on the edge of the bed, might fall from his bed.

"It's okay." Chloe makes sure that she doesn't mind, if Matthew leans on her for a while. "Do you want to lie down?"

Seeing Matthew nodding slowly, Chloe then carefully helped Matthew back on his bed.

Chloe then took a glass of water, and helped Matthew to drink it, raising Matthew's head slightly.

"Do you feel better?" ask Chloe, make sure.

"Yes ... Thank you," Matthew said.

Chloe then went to the opposite side of the bed, and lay there, after turning off the table lamp.

"Chelle! ... Can you lie down near me?" matthew asked, with his voice almost whispering, as if he was hesitant to ask Chloe that question.

And if Matthew feels doubtful, then Chloe feels the same way.

Because, sleeping in the same bed with Matthew alone, it feels uncomfortable for Chloe. Moreover, if Chloe had to sleep too close to Matthew.

"I think I remember part of what was my dream. And it made me feel pretty scared to go back to sleep." Matthew said.

"I'm sorry ... I knew that my request was too much" Matthew hurriedly continued, then lay sideways, turning his back on Chloe.

Matthew did not seem to be lying, if the dream was disturbing enough, until he had trouble continuing his sleep.

Almost an hour had passed, but Matthew still felt uncomfortable, and moved to and fro on his bed.

Chloe could not sleep either, as the bed felt a little shaky, every time Matthew moved.

While grunting violently, Chloe finally shifted to get closer to Matthew. "Try to sleep, Sir! ... Your schedule for tomorrow is pretty solid."

"Can I hold your hand?" ask Matthew.

Chloe was silent for a while.

"It!" Chloe held her hand close, until Matthew could hold her. "As long as you don't take me walking everywhere. I'm still very sleepy."

"Good night, sir! ... Sleep well!" sahut Chloe's.

When Chloe wakes up in the morning, Matthew is seen sitting on his bed.

If you look at his face, it seems that even though Chloe accompanied him and even allowed Matthew to hold his hand, Matthew still could not fall asleep properly.

Matthew, who looked tired with his reddish and dry eyeballs, clearly revealed that Matthew was sleep deprived.

"Morning, Sir!" chloe said, then got out of bed. "How do you feel? Looks like you can't rest well."

"I can't sleep" replied Matthew, with his voice almost whispering.

"Do you want to rest at home today?" ask Chloe, worried.

"No. I'm going to the office. I don't want to mess up my work schedule." Matthew then moved down his legs to the side of the bed.

Chloe grunted rudely.

According to Chloe, with Matthew's condition like that, his boss should just rest first, and not force himself to continue working.

However, Chloe also cannot manage what Matthew wants to do, so Chloe then helps him go to the bathroom.

Afterwards, Chloe went to the pavilion, preparing herself for work.

"Before the board meeting, you were already scheduled for a presentation from Centra" Chloe said.

Upon arrival at the office, without needing to go to the CEO's workspace again, Chloe immediately directs Matthew to go to the conference room first.

"It should be, Centra is waiting for you there right now," continued Chloe, as she continued walking along with Matthew.

In keeping with the promised time, the people from Centra immediately made a presentation in front of Matthew, not long after Matthew and Chloe entered the conference room.

After meeting with people from Centra, Matthew's work schedule was immediately followed by a board meeting in the same room.

And at that moment, Matthew was already exhausted, to the point that Matthew seemed to repeatedly yawn, massaging his forehead.

Chloe who noticed Matthew's movements, thought to change the schedule of his boss, by emptying the time even if only 1 hour, so that Matthew can rest.

Until the board meeting ended, and the board of directors had been scattered out of the conference room where the meeting was held, Matthew was still sitting in his chair while massaging his forehead.

David who seemed to develop a wide smile on his face, then approached Chloe who was still standing waiting for Matthew.

"Hi, Chloe!" greet David.

"Hi, Sir!" Chloe greeted David back, then smiled.

Matthew seems to be unable to hide his dislike for David, even though David is only arguing with Chloe. At once, Matthew seemed to be hurriedly standing next to Chloe.

Without waiting for Matthew to say anything, Chloe knew she had to leave the room with Matthew.

"I'm sorry, Sir ... I go first! ... You can call me later," Chloe said in pleasantries, to say goodbye to David. "Bye, Sir!"

Not yet had David reply to Chloe's words, Matthew had walked away from it, holding Chloe's hand and slightly pulled it.

"Bye, Chloe! ... I'll call you soon" said David, in a hurry.

Without reducing the speed of his footsteps, Matthew just let go of Chloe's hand, when they had entered the elevator leading to the top floor.

"What's my next schedule?" matthew asked, walking towards his study.

"You can rest! ... I'll reset your schedule today" Chloe said.

"Why? I'm not asking you to change my schedule. Just proceed according to the schedule!" Matthew seemed to still insist on continuing to work.

"Or are you going to meet David?"

Chloe couldn't believe what Matthew had just said.

"The sir! ... I know it's still working hours. There's no way I'd steal an opportunity, just for personal matters."

Chloe only nodded her head when she saw Agatha, and followed Matthew into the CEO's office, then continued to say,

"I'm worried about your situation. Because you might get sick if you don't rest for a while."

Matthew was silent for a moment, then seemed to choose not to go to his desk, and just sit on the sofa. "You just change my schedule here!"

"Good, Sir!" While sitting on the couch, Chloe puts her bag on the table, then checks the iPad she's carrying to arrange a change in Matthew's work schedule.

Meanwhile, Matthew is seen taking off his suit, loosening his tie, then lying on the sofa by putting his head on Chloe's lap.

"Sir?" Chloe's confused about Matthew's behavior.

However, Matthew, who had put on the look of a fool, had already closed his eyes, saying,

"I'll make sure you don't go anywhere, if I fall asleep."

Chloe snorted softly, while shaking her head.

However, Chloe does not comment on it, leaving Matthew's head on his lap, while he takes care of Matthew's work schedule.
