Part 9's
Either because Matthew did not like the existence of David there, or because of the familiarity shown David with Chloe, which makes Matthew seem very disturbed.
In fact, Matthew stopped his conversation with the head of the project who seemed to still want to discuss about work, at the job site.
"David! Are you not doing any other work?" asked Matthew, who looked upset.
"Hm ... My work is done. I was just checking a few things, because the reports I received," said David, looked foolish.
"There's no problem if I'm here, is there?! Because, what you're talking about, it still has something to do with my work."
As if not concerned with the dislike shown by Matthew, David still looks relaxed, sitting with his legs there.
"Sir!" Chloe points a note to Matthew, who she thinks may have been missed by her boss. "You still have to talk about this!"
"I know!" matthew, ketus. "Our talks are not over yet."
"Chelle! ... Why don't you come with me? I need your help for a minute! And I don't think the CEO would mind. Because he doesn't seem to need you" David said.
Standing up from his seat, David approached Chloe, and immediately held her hand.
David does not seem to care what the response from Matthew will be, so without seeming doubt, David immediately took Chloe away from it.
"Sir?!" chloe said, panicking.
"No need to worry! ... If he fires you, you can work for me" said David, holding Chloe's hand, and walking on.
After putting a protective helmet on his head and Chloe, David takes Chloe in, and rides in a freight elevator, almost to the rooftop of a building, which is in the construction phase in the area.
The rooftop section of the building, not yet installed a security fence, so it feels quite scary for Chloe, if standing at that height, even though they stand still quite far from the edge.
"Don't be afraid! ... I won't let you fall" said David, holding Chloe's trembling hand.
"What do you think is the right price for an apartment here?" ask David.
Although David held her hand, Chloe still trembled with fear, and could not distract her from her fear.
Moreover, on top of that the wind blew quite strong, so Chloe felt as if she would be swept away by the wind.
"Pffit...!" Laughing batedly, David grabbed Chloe tightly from the back, then said, saying,
"If the construction of this place is finished, the view from here is quite good! Get brave, and look around you!"
Chloe just lowered her head, then raised her face, and looked straight ahead of her.
From what Chloe can see, David is not lying. Because according to Chloe, the view from above is very beautiful.
On one side, Chloe can see the urban area, to reach the open ocean.
While on the other side, the view of the forest in the mountains overgrown with trees that are still lush, looks very fresh and soothing.
"Hows it? Nice no?" ask David.
"Good!" chloe said, smiling.
"Do you think this apartment is appropriate, if it is sold at a price range of six million dollars per unit?" ask David, again.
"Yes ... With a view like this, I think the price is more than worth it" Chloe replied.
"I bought an apartment unit in this building" said David, letting go of her arms, and shifted to Chloe's side, embracing Chloe's waist.
"Are you buying it with a pencil?" Chloe simply asked, about to ridicule David.
"Jesse? ... Of course not. I paid for it cash," said David, glancing at Chloe, with a big smile and almost a laugh.
"God! ... That's a fantastic amount of money!" chloe said, then smiled.
"Pff.ht...! You believe?" david asked, laughing.
"Of course! ... You come from a family of conglomerates, that amount of money is certainly not much" Chloe replied.
"Auch! ... Don't tease me, sir!"
"How does it feel?" David took Chloe to sit on a pile of building materials, which were there.
"What do you mean, sir?" Chloe asked back, not understanding where David was talking.
"If I don't misjudge, your work has become increasingly difficult lately. You also seem more depressed....
... I don't think, why do you still want to work as his assistant?"
As he spoke, David helped move Chloe's messy hair to the back of Chloe's ears slowly.
"I understand that it was time that you could stand working with Nathan. Although the pressure is quite large, but Nathan seems to treat you well....
... The other with Matthew ... His attitude was quite opposite compared to Nathan. He's very rude, and it's obvious that he doesn't respect you at all" David continued.
Actually, Chloe just wanted to make her complaint about Matthew go to David.
But Chloe knew, that it was inappropriate, if she had to tell him the bad attitude of her boss. Especially if he's still working for Matthew.
Thus, Chloe then simply said,
"Everyone has a different way of interacting. Mister Nathan and Mister Matthew may have very different personalities....
... But they are my bosses. And I've been lucky enough, because they still want to give me the confidence to do this job."
"Tsk tsk!" David clucked, shaking his head. "Why don't you just want to be my assistant? Is it because I'm not the CEO?"
"You often complain about your work. So, I'm worried that in case you actually stop working, then I'll be unemployed too" Chloe said, jokingly, while refraining from laughing.
"Haha...!" David laughed, then said,
"If you become my assistant, then I will definitely stop complaining. Because you are always totality in working, it will certainly help my work. Let alone your loyalty, which is already unquestionable."
Casey was silent, looking at David speaking to him.
"Besides, you are also beautiful. So, even though I am saturated with my work, then I have to rethink to stop working....
... Because it would be a pity, if I lost my good and beautiful assistant" continued David, then blinked one eye, and smiled widely.
"Pff.ht...! Thank you for the compliment, sir!" chloe said with a laugh, responding to the joke from David.
"But I mean it. I want you to work with me" said David, putting on a serious look.

... You can tell me what nominal salary you want, and I will fulfill it....
... And most importantly, I will definitely treat you better, compared to Matthew," David continued.
"What's better than me?"

"Don't I just do it? I'd be happy to take it from you, "David replied, embracing Chloe's waist and pulling her, until Chloe was completely docked.
