Part 47's

Several emails have just been sent by Chloe to the people Matthew had to meet with, to deliver a notice of his resignation, but Matthew seems to have fallen asleep quite fast.

Matthew's breathing was well-ordered, visible from his chest movements up and down rhythmically, and his facial features were much calmer.

In order not to wake Matthew up, Chloe slowly put the iPad on the small table beside the sofa, then leaned back casually because of her sore back.

But Chloe was still uncomfortable, and her legs were as if they were going to numb, so Chloe moved slowly, lifted both legs, and placed at the foot of the table in front of her.

Although Chloe had tried not to make Matthew's head shake, but Matthew still seemed disturbed sleep.

Spontaneously, Chloe rubbed Matthew's head slowly, until Matthew looked calm again.

While looking at her boss's face, Chloe felt very curious, about what was actually a nightmare for Matthew, to be able to make it so chaotic like that.

Had Matthew been willing to talk about it to Chloe, maybe the nightmare would have stopped haunting her.

However, Matthew is not someone who can easily show his weaknesses, especially to express things that may be personal to him.

Never mind.... Matthew will definitely seek help, if he is no longer able to cope on his own.

Chloe grunted softly.

If only Chloe could be frank, Chloe honestly admired the figure of Matthew and the work ethic possessed by Chloe's boss.

Chloe knew for sure that Matthew was actually working under pressure, but Matthew was still able to remain critical in his work.

Chloe smiled to herself, imagining if Matthew could always look calm— when Matthew was sleeping soundly—like right now, of course Chloe would not have much trouble working with him.

Suddenly, Matthew seemed to furrow his brows deeply, and with his eyes still tightly closed, Matthew's eyeballs seemed to twitch.

Likewise with Matthew's two hands that looked clenched, and as if they were being squeezed as hard as he could.

According to Chloe, Matthew seems to be dreaming right now.

And most likely, Matthew was again having a bad dream, because from his slightly moving mouth, he let out a muttering sound and mixed with a voice like he was whimpering in pain.

Not intending to wake her up, Chloe clasped one of Matthew's hands, then lowered her head and drew closer to Matthew's ear, then whispered, saying,

"The sir! ... You are fine ... I'm accompanying you here ... No one can bother you...."

After Chloe spoke to him, Matthew did look calmer, but at that very moment, Matthew then opened his eyes.

Chloe, who was still looking down, hurriedly moved her face away from Matthew, whose eyes now looked straight at the ceiling.

"Are you okay?" chloe asked, hesitating.

Matthew did not immediately answer Chloe's question, and instead grasped tighter, Chloe's hand still holding it.

"It's hurt! ... I don't know you ... What is my mistake? ... Why did you bring me to this place? ... It's hurt! ... Please! ... I'm sorry."

After a moment of silence, Matthew spoke as if he were rummaging in a parched voice, then blinked his eyes slowly.

"Sir? ... What are you talking about?" chloe asked, puzzled, then watching Matthew carefully.

Seeing from Matthew's blank eyes like he was daydreaming, Chloe guessed that right now, Matthew still seems to be carried away from the atmosphere of his dream.

What kind of dream did Matthew have?

Then, why does it sound as if Matthew is being carried by someone he does not know?

What's Matthew's nightmare is he's being kidnapped?

While Chloe was thinking hard looking for a possible explanation to match, Matthew who was still with his blank gaze, was seen dripping with tears.

"Sir?" With a feeling of wonder mixed with anxiety, Chloe wiped slowly tears from Matthew's face.

Matthew was then seen closing his eyes again, and at that very moment, his breathing sounded tight, his body was shaking violently to the point of shaking.

"Oh, gosh!" chloe said, panicking, while hurriedly trying to lift Matthew up so he could sit down.

What the hell is going on?

"The sir! ... Please!" Hugging Matthew, Chloe tries to resuscitate Matthew.

Chloe had thought of asking Agatha for help, but she abandoned her intentions, because not necessarily Matthew would, if others saw her as such.

As such, Chloe must do her best to regain Matthew's consciousness before she tries to ask others for help.

"Mister Matthew! ... Sir! ... Please, wake up!" chloe said, repeatedly.

After some time that has passed, then the body of Matthew who was felt stiff and trembling, now began to feel weak, and just leaned in Chloe's arms.

"Thanks God!" chloe said, can breathe a little relieved, because Matthew who seems to have started to return to normal.

"Yes, Sir!" said Chloe, while still hugging Matthew who seemed to be falling so weak.

"You're not gonna leave me here alone, are you?" matthew asked, leaning his face on one side of Chloe's shoulder.

"Yes ... I'm not going anywhere. I'll keep you company" Chloe replied, reassuring Matthew.

Matthew who seemed to have gained a bit of his strength back, then hugged Chloe, saying,

"Thank you ... I can feel better because of you."

Long and deep, Chloe let out a heavy sigh, then exhaled slowly.

"Sama-sama, sir," said Chloe, then thought about trying to ask. "Aren't you going to talk about what's in your dream?"

"Maybe that way, you can feel better" Chloe continued, hurriedly explaining what she was thinking.

However, Matthew who was silent and did not react to anything, became a sign for Chloe, if Matthew did not want to talk about it, and Chloe could not force it.

"Can you sit by yourself?" chloe asked, be careful.

"Wait a minute...!" answer Matthew, slowly.

Chloe waited until a while later, until Matthew's condition was seen back as usual.

Matthew gives up Chloe's arms, and asks Chloe to help him move into his chair.

Still with Chloe in the CEO's workspace, Matthew then contacted someone on his phone.

Chloe did not pay much attention to the conversation between Matthew and the person on his phone, but from the greeting uttered by Matthew, Chloe's superior sounded like he was talking to his Grandpa.

Chloe, who doesn't want to look like she's eavesdropping on Matthew's conversation, signs Matthew that Chloe will be out of the room for a while.

When Matthew nodded in agreement, Chloe then rushed away from it, and returned to her desk.

"Is there something bad going on?" agatha asked, as Chloe was just about to sit in her chair. "CEO scolded you?"

Chloe shook her head, turned on the computer, and checked her pending work there.

"Then why do you look lethargic?" agatha asked, as if not content to ask, if Chloe did not explain.

"Please guess!" said Chloe carelessly, while focusing his attention on the computer screen that is already on.

Agatha grunted rudely.

"Handsome faces can't make our job any more fun." Agatha sounded like she was grumbling. "That's it...! As long as we don't get fired."

Chloe was bearded as if to agree with Agatha's opinion, so that Agatha would stop talking, and Chloe could concentrate on her work.

"Oh, yes! ... Katherine! ... Mister David was looking for you. I told him you were in the CEO's room. Then he said he wanted to take you to lunch with him" Agatha said.

"Hmmm..." Chloe was confused as to why David didn't send her a message right away.

"Later on, Mister David has been looking for you a lot" chirped Agatha, glancing at Chloe. "Is there something between you two?"

"none. I borrowed money from him, to pay off a loan shark debt," said Chloe, flat.

"Oh, geez! ... Ii'm sorry. I really couldn't help you." Agatha is heard regretting the situation, as she refuses Chloe's request to borrow her money.

"It's okay. You don't have to think about it. I understand your situation," said Chloe, earnestly.

"Hm ... Katherine! ... I don't think Mister David is less handsome than the CEO. The person is also kind and smiley," Agatha said, glancing at Chloe.

"Why should?" Chloe didn't understand where Agatha was going.

"I imagine what if he was the CEO. Maybe our work won't be boring."

"Pffit...!" Chloe laughed stifledly, hearing Agatha's reply, while shaking her head. "Are you interested in Mister David?"

Agatha. "What are you talking about?"

Apparently, Chloe's bait hit the target. Because Agatha looks blushed embarrassed, locked her mouth tightly, and looks busy continuing her work.

Chloe chuckled.

It is common knowledge, and it is not surprising that some female employees in the McLean property office are interested in the charm of David.

And apparently, Agatha was one of those women who fell in love with David.

Chloe, who had again concentrated on the computer screen, was surprised by the ringtone on her phone, which indicated that there was a phone call coming in there.

In a hurry, Chloe pulled out the phone from inside her bag, and looked at the screen display of the thing.
