Bitter & Sweet

Bitter & Sweet
The Part 24

According to Chloe, Matthew's mood swings are almost like that of a menstruating woman.

Rise down from Matthew's emotions that suddenly, without Chloe knowing the reason, because Matthew who also said nothing, only made Chloe more difficult to deal with it.

As of this moment, after Chloe accompanied Matthew to the end of breakfast, then Chloe escorted him to her study, Matthew still looked annoyed.

I don't know what was wrong that he thought was very disturbing, so Matthew seemed to want to rampage endlessly.

When compared to the mood of Matthew when he just woke up this morning, which was just like a small roll of waves that was quite calm, it felt as if there was a storm surge in Matthew's head.

After a while Matthew saw the display on his laptop screen, Matthew suddenly kicked his workbench hard, until the sound he made echoed in the quiet room.

"The sir! ... Your wounds will get worse!" chloe said, trying to calm Matthew down, while hastily holding back Matthew's hand movements, by holding him tightly.

Immediately, a liquid of blood seeped out, and soaked the bandage that covered the wound on Matthew's hand.

"Please, Sir...!" chloe said in a clear voice, because she was really worried about Matthew's situation.

"Please don't do it again...! I'm going to go get the medicine box" Chloe continued, staring fixedly at Matthew.

Matthew did not say Chloe's words, and appeared to be just a rough grunt, while he was seen hardening his jaw as if he still felt indignant.

Seeing that the blood fluid in the bandage had widened, without lingering, Chloe went to get the medicine box, along with the wound care equipment Matthew had obtained from the doctor yesterday.

Still in a hurry, Chloe returned to the study, and immediately opened the bandage in Matthew's hand.

"Is there a problem, sir? ... Is there something I do, that is not pleasing to you?" chloe asked, taking care of Matthew's hand carefully.

"I hate all this!" matthew said, with his voice sounding trembling.

Chloe grunted softly. "I'm sorry ... But I really don't understand, what's pissing you off."

"Of course you won't understand. Because all you can think of, is the money paid for you to be here" Matthew said.

Chloe lifted her gaze, looking back at the pair of eyeballs from Matthew, who now looked as if she was underestimating him.

Chloe's patience has touched its limits, so it feels like she'll just slap Matthew in the face, if it can make Matthew realize from his arrogance.

"It's true what you said. I'm here because I get paid. Then, what's the problem? Don't people want to work to earn money?"

While saying, Chloe who was inflamed, then pressed the wound on Matthew's hand with a cotton swab, which had been used to clean the wound.

"Auch!" Matthew grimaced in pain, pulling his hand out of Chloe's grip. "What are you doing? That hurts so much!"

"Ow! ... It turns out you can still feel pain" Chloe said, in a mocking tone.

"Then what did you think when you hit the table? Is that your way to make me even more exhausted taking care of you?

... Just so you know, the rewards I received were not appropriate for all this ridiculous work," continued Chloe, hurriedly, before Matthew had time to respond to his words just now.

"You...!" Matthew's voice rose, revealing clearly that he was getting irritated.

To the extent that, Matthew's breath was seen hunting, and so was his face that looked crimson, as if he was a hot bomb ready to explode at any moment.

"What's wrong with me? Couldn't you be hurt by your own mistakes?" Without any more hesitation, Chloe still challenged Matthew.

"If you want me to take care of your wound, you better apologize first" Chloe said, then turned around and pretended to leave Matthew alone.

And it seems, Chloe's way will work to slightly reduce the arrogant lag, which Matthew shows him.

Because before Chloe reaches the door, Matthew then exclaims. "Wait!"

Chloe stopped walking, yet she still gave a pause for a while, before she then turned to look towards Matthew who was holding her back.

Chloe also said nothing, and just looked at Matthew, until Matthew finally said,

"I can't take care of my own wounds ... I also still need your help to walk ... I'm sorry...."

"I don't know what you're thinking" chloe chirped, while still lowering her gaze to pay attention to her work.

Chloe then raised her gaze and looked at Matthew for a while, before she finally looked back into Matthew's palm.

"I'm probably just an employee who gets paid according to my job. But I'm also a human being who has feelings" Chloe said.

When Chloe gave a pause for a while, before she continued to speak what was on her mind, Matthew just fell silent without responding to Chloe's words.

"I'm really worried about your situation. Especially when you see you are injured. So that I keep trying as much as possible in order to take good care of you....

... If something is bothering you, rather than blowing your anger without knowing where it's going, and just hurting yourself, wouldn't it be better if you said it?"

Speaking slowly, Chloe tried her best to make Matthew understand what Chloe was really thinking.

"You're worried about me? Is that really trustworthy? While you do not help seka—"

Matthew spoke in a cynical tone of voice, then stopped his words abruptly, as Chloe raised her gaze and watched Matthew's words.

"... I mean, all you think about is stopping work, without preparing someone who can replace you," continued Matthew, who this time spoke in a low voice and almost whispered.

Chloe sighed deeply, then deflated her lungs afterwards.

"So that's what you want? ... Should I find someone to replace me?" chloe asked, staring at Matthew.

Matthew remained silent.

"No problem. I can do it ... But, don't you not believe me? How can you be sure, if the person I'm recommending you can trust?" continued Chloe.

Matthew snorted violently. "That's what frustrates me. I don't know who I can trust. Moreover, there is nothing I know in this country."

"Hm ... You might be able to call someone you know and trust, to come here" Chloe said.

Chloe had finished putting a bandage on Matthew's wound, so she began to tidy up all the equipment she was wearing, and removed the dirty cotton and bandage.

"It's not that easy. In my former residence, I also did not have many acquaintances, because I was too busy with work" said Matthew.

Whether Matthew realizes it or not, but he is now suddenly, able to talk openly to Chloe.

So, Chloe became more and more wanted to lure Matthew, to want to express what was on his mind.

"What one of your employees there couldn't be asked to come here?" chloe asked, throwing the trash into his place.

"I don't know if anyone wants to move countries" Matthew said, leaning against a chair, watching the bandage in his hand.

Chloe came back to Matthew, then with a smile, Chloe then said,

"You try it first! ... How do you know someone wants to. That way, you won't have any more doubts....

... And most importantly, don't get frustrated about it. Moreover, to the point of making you have to hurt yourself."

For a moment, Matthew was silent, staring at Chloe. "You're a strange person."

"Ughs? Is there something wrong?" ask Chloe.

"How can you be that calm when you talk about someone who will replace you?" Matthew asked back.

"Then what should I do? Should I cry? Shouting hysterically, or raging?" chloe said, then laughed.

"There is nothing surprising if you change jobs. Because in the end, in addition to making money, I certainly have to choose a place to work, which can make me feel more comfortable. Right no?" chloe continued, without burden.

"Chelle! ... Don't you want to keep working for me?" matthew asked, who seemed to be sitting up straight again.

"You just need to stay away from David, and all the people who don't like my daddy, then I will definitely treat you well" Matthew continued hurriedly.
