The Part 65

Chloe knew that she should have told Matthew what the bad intentions of Jordan's design were, or that anyone didn't like Matthew.

However, Chloe still had to rethink whether she could indeed give the information she accidentally knew to Matthew.

What Chloe was considering, though, was the possibility that Matthew would blame, and not forgive David and Jordan.

If that were the case, Matthew would have hit the drums of war on Jordan and David, and then there would have likely been a massive quarrel and split in the McLean family.

Then for the next, Jordan and David also still have the possibility to deny, for the information said by Chloe to Matthew.

And if Chloe can't prove the truth of the complaint, then it's possible, if Chloe is the one who will be blamed by both parties.

Moreover, almost all McLean families, assume that because of the attitude of Matthew is the main reason for Chloe, to plan to stop working as an assistant Matthew.

Thus, it could be if the situation later turned to attack Chloe.

It could be, if Chloe who might be accused of lying, using the reason that Chloe wants to take revenge for Matthew's behavior, even though the truth is not the case.

Because of the possibility of all of those things that could have happened, so Chloe would have to think twice, before she reported the information to Matthew.

"What are you thinking?" matthew asked, awakening Chloe who was deep in her own thoughts.

"Ugh?" Chloe's confused.

"Don't you mind being a guard, while I'm dating Judy?" matthew asked again, furrowing his brows deeply.

"No problem, Sir ... Helping you to interact with others without getting distracted is still part of my job as your personal assistant" Chloe replied, smiling.

"It's up to you then!" matthew, sounds as if speaking.

"Good, Sir!" Chloe then intends to further feed the remaining food on the plate to Matthew, but Matthew hastily restrains Chloe's hand movements.

"I can eat by myself!" matthew said, taking the spoon out of Chloe's hand, and eating his own food. "How was your dinner with David? Pleasant?"

"Over ordinary dinner. Nothing special" Chloe replied, as she was.

"What's up? ... Why do you look so lethargic?" matthew asked, staring fixedly at Chloe.

"There's nothing ... I just feel tired." Chloe wasn't really interested in talking about her dinner with David.

So, Chloe then immediately switched their conversation, saying,

"How was your date? ... Miss Parker looks beautiful as always."

"Isn't that normal? ... Judy can't possibly be a celebrity, if she's not pretty" Matthew replied, in a cynical tone.

Matthew, who had lowered his gaze to look at the food on the plate, suddenly lifted his gaze, and gave Chloe a probing look.

"Is there something you're hiding from me?" matthew asked, without diverting the slightest bit of his attention from Chloe's pair of eyes.

"Ugh? ... Oh! ... No," Chloe replied, turning her face away.

However, Matthew then holds Chloe's chin and pulls it, so Chloe has to come face to face with him. "Chelle! ... You can't lie to me. You know that, don't you?"

Chloe tried to turn her face away again, but Matthew didn't seem to be giving up.

Matthew held onto Chloe's chin and held her back, so Chloe couldn't avoid his gaze.

"You better talk" said Matthew, sounding pushy. "What does this have to do with Matteo?"

"No," Chloe replied.

"Australia ... Something going on at David's?"

Because Matthew asked, as if he could indeed read Chloe's mind, making Chloe feel nervous and difficult to deny.

"No." Chloe tried to stay calm, while answering Matthew's question.

"What's going on there?" matthew asked, who looked increasingly curious.

Chloe was silent for a while, to the point that Matthew seemed to have lost his sense of patience again.

"Chelle! ... Tell me!" matthew said, firmly.

"The sir...." Chloe who hesitated, spoke in a clear tone, so that Matthew would not force her to talk.

However, Matthew seemed to remain adamant with his wishes, until he then said,

"Whatever it is, I won't scold you. Tell me everything and don't hesitate!"

"I can't tell you. Because I could, I would probably just be considered a liar," Chloe said.

"Huh! ... I'm not a fool, Chloe! I can make my own judgment. Whether you lie or not, I'll know."

There was not the slightest doubt on Matthew's countenance or tone of voice, as he spoke to Chloe.

So, despite reluctance and worry, Chloe finally ventured to tell Matthew, what she knew when she was at David's house.

Both what was discussed between Jordan and David that Chloe overheard by accident, came to the conversation between Chloe and David.

Matthew, who listened to Chloe talk to her, seemed to pay close attention, without the slightest sign of her interrupting Chloe's words.

Until Chloe finished telling all the information, Matthew looked as if he was weighing and was silent for a moment, before he finally said,

"So, they already knew that I had fallen in love with someone, and wanted to make it bother me...."

"Yes," said Chloe, hurry up. "But I didn't tell anyone, that you are now close to Miss Parker."

Matthew seemed to flinch, but it immediately seemed ordinary, so Chloe hurriedly wanted to give further explanation, saying,

"I'm sorry, Sir ... I have absolutely no intention of stoking any tension within your family....

...Mister David actually wants to help you, too, but since I'm intending to work at JT Corp, it just seems to make him feel annoyed and blame you....

... So that Mister David will not help you again, if I accept a job offer from the President of JT Corp."

Meanwhile, Chloe observed the look on Matthew's face, before Chloe continued to say,

"But, as long as I'm still working for you, I won't divulge any information that you're dating Miss Parker....

...Be it Mister David, or Mister Jordan, or whoever it is that has the possibility to oppose you....

... I'll try to protect your privacy, and not allow anyone to come visit you, while you're on a date."

Matthew's face then seemed to change drastically.

"Should, you don't have to worry about Miss Parker. But, you should take advantage of the time available to convince him....

... So that no one can influence it, even though I'm not here anymore" Chloe said.

"Tomorrow, when we get home from work, set up my meeting with Judy!" matthew said, with a cynical sounding tone.

Chloe nodded slowly. "Good, Sir...."

Feeling that there was nothing she needed to say anymore, and seeing that Matthew also seemed uninterested in continuing his dinner, Chloe then stood up from her seat, saying,

"Have you finished eating? ... I'll clean this plate."

"Yes," Matthew answered, then sipped some water from his glass.

Moving slowly, Chloe then cleaned the dirty dishes in the sink, trying to calm herself down.

How not?

Although Chloe has been determined to help Matthew find his love, Chloe cannot lie to herself if she feels very disappointed and hurt.

Because that's the case, then Chloe who has to throw away her love for Matthew, which only makes Chloe jealous half-dead to Judy.

"What are you thinking?" matthew, suddenly.

Because of the touch on her shoulder, and Matthew's voice that sounded very close behind her, it really surprised Chloe, to drop the plate from her hand.

"Geez!" chloe said, then hurriedly took the dish which fortunately did not break, even though it fell hard enough to the bottom of the sink.

The panicked Chloe, rushing to turn off the tap water, placed the clean plate into the drain, then immediately turned around, and found Matthew standing right behind her.

"What are you doing?" chloe asked, confused.

However, Matthew did not immediately answer Chloe's question.

Although it seems still difficult to walk and limp, Matthew actually moved forward to approach Chloe.

Spontaneously, Chloe then moved back, until she was leaning in the sink. "What's up, sir?"

Matthew placed both hands on the edge of the sink, until Chloe was between Matthew's arms flanking him.

"Just to do one dish, why do you spend so long doing it?" matthew asked, staring fixedly at Chloe.

"You're even so shocked, just because I touched your shoulder. What are you thinking?" matthew continued, while maintaining that position.

"There's nothing" replied Chloe, as she spoke. "Is there anything you need?"

"Hm.... I want dessert!" matthew replied, while still staring fixedly at Chloe.

"Wait a minute! ... I'll get it for you, " Chloe said, then try to keep Matthew's hand out of his way.

However, Matthew seems to hold the edge of the sink tightly enough that Chloe cannot shift Matthew's hand.

"How can I get you what you're asking for, if you're blocking me like this?" chloe said, confused.

Matthew did not answer Chloe's question, but instead asked a new one by saying,

"What does Matteo want from you?"

"Hmmm...." Chloe muttered hesitantly.

"Is he trying to convince you that he loves you?" matthew asked, as if he could follow the thought path of Matteo.

"Yes" Chloe replied, honestly.

"Then? ... Did you accept it?" ask Matthew again.

"No ... Of course not." Chloe answered with confidence. "I've said before, if I don't believe easily, if someone like Mister Matteo could fall in love with me."

"Can't you trust him?" ask Matthew again. "Aren't you in love with her?"

"No, Sir! ... I don't love him!" sahut Chloe, be firm.

"Hm ... Or have you fallen in love with someone else?" matthew asked, with a probing look. "Is it possible that you fell in love with David?"

Chloe shook her head. "I'm not in love with Mister David ... But, do we have to talk about it?"

Although Chloe had shown her dislike of the discussion of her love relationship, Matthew seemed to not care, and instead said,

"The characteristics of the person you like, as you said last night, I think it's similar to David. Is that why, until you tried to protect her?"

"I don't love any of them! Because I love—" Chloe woke up, then stopped her words just like that.

Because of being carried away by emotions, Chloe who was in a hurry to say Matthew's words, almost said her true feelings to Matthew.

However, Matthew actually looked curious because Chloe did not continue her sentence, until Matthew further deepened his gaze in Chloe's eyes.

"Who? ... Who are you in love with?" matthew asked, without taking his eyes off Chloe.

"I'm under no obligation to answer your question, am I?!" chloe said, ketus defiantly, then took a deep breath to calm himself.

"Hm ... It's not mandatory. But I wonder what exactly is on your mind right now." Matthew said, looking foolish, and then continued saying,

"Who made you fall in love? It felt like all this time, I had never seen you close to anyone, other than Matteo or David."

"Sir!" chloe said, with a bad feeling.

"Why can't you tell me who that person is? ... You know the ins and outs of me. But I don't know much about you ... Is it possible that your love is clapping one hand?"

Matthew still urged Chloe, until Chloe lowered her head, and it felt like crying because of Matthew's behavior.

"Yes ... He loves someone else...." With her heart feeling as if she was slicing, Chloe let out her voice quietly, answering Matthew's question.

"Are you sure that the man you love loves loves other people?" Matthew still seems dissatisfied to ask, although he should be able to see that Chloe is now very upset.

"Sir...! Please...!" Chloe made it clear for Matthew to stop forcing her, to answer the repeated questions.

"Chelle! ... Lift your head!" matthew said in a firm tone of voice, until Chloe raised her head again. "Look at me carefully and answer all my questions!"

While staring at Matthew's pair of eyes that could drown his soul, and with a voice trembling from holding back a cry, Chloe then said,

"Sir...! I can't answer it...."
