Chapter 10 - Courteous Mixed Arrogance
The male servant who approached Lin Yan, looked at him with a very condescending look. Although he looked very friendly, to someone like Lin Yan, he knew that the servant was demeaning to him just because of his appearance that looked like a villager.
“There can I help?” the waiter asked with a smile on his face. It was a formality because it was his job.
“How much does it cost to stay one night here?” asked Lin Yan ignoring the condescending look of the servant before him.
“One gold coin for one night. It is also an ordinary room for normal guests.” replied the man's maid with a smile. He did not explain any further about the high-class room as he felt that Lin Yan could not possibly afford to pay for an ordinary room.
Lin Yan nodded his head slightly and asked again. “I booked one regular room for three days. Also, can you take me to the restaurant?”
The waiter looked like he was snorting. He was slightly surprised that Lin Yan rented an ordinary room for three days. But he still did not believe that Lin Yan would bring the gold coins with him.
“Can you show gold coins first?” ask the man's servant. His tone was a little cold this time as he felt that the boy before him was simply coming to Ain's inn and restaurant.
“Is the service in this place like this? Why am I the only one who has to show gold coins while other customers just pass by and are led to where they want in this place?” Lin Yan asked in a surprised tone. Although he was not offended, but he wanted to teach a person who only had the status of a waiter to behave properly to customers and not show that customers do not have gold coins at all.
The servant's eyes narrowed for a moment. His face was a little dark knowing that the village boy before him was trying to ruin his image in front of many customers.
The customers who were there that were coming in and out of were certainly hearing what Lin Yan said. They looked at the waiter with a strange look full of meaning.
“I don't mean to doubt you. I just want to make sure.” the waiter keeps replying with a smile on his face.
“Ho? How do you know if someone has gold coins or not?” Lin Yan stuffed his two arms into his pocket and looked at the waiter a little coldly.
The waiter almost burst into rage but still put on a smiley face as usual.
“This is just a formality.” the waiter spoke again.
“Hm? Is that?” Lin Yan asked in an astonished tone then slowly walked over to one of the customers.
“Excuse me, if you want to order food or stay here, customer must show coins first?” asked Lin Yan in a polite tone.
The female customer smiled hearing that. He certainly feels that the service here is too excessive. “Of course not little sister, all inns or restaurants will serve first new after that customer will pay.”
Lin Yan nodded lightly with a smile. “Thank you miss, for the information.”
The woman nodded back with a smile and looked at Lin Yan with interest. He and some of his friends did the same. It could be said they were curious by the way Lin Yan spoke which looked like a noble but his manners were clearly visible.
“So? Was what I said before wrong? What's your goal to try to make me look like a poor countryman?” Lin Yan turned his head back towards the servant who had already put on an angry face. He clenched his hands tightly.
“Listen to the villagers! This place is not for a kid like you! It is very clear that you do not have anything!” the waiter's original color was instantly apparent at this moment as it was no longer able to control his emotions. He felt very angry because he was humiliated in front of some nobles who he knew, moreover they were women.
“Ho? I am a village man. But at least I can afford to pay. Wh why? You're not happy if the villagers become customers in this place?” Lin Yan leisurely asked and walked towards the man's servant.
“You..!” the maid raised her hand and wanted to teach Lin Yan a lesson.

“Master..” that servant who has a swollen face immediately approached the owner of the place.
“Do you own this place?” asked Lin Yan politely. But his body style looks so that he is not afraid of anything. The pose was still as usual with both hands in his pocket.
The eyes of the young man who was the owner of the place narrowed his eyes towards Lin Yan. He just nodded and kept waiting for what the young man would say that clearly came from a village.
“I want to ask, is the service in this place like that?” Lin Yan explained slowly in detail about what happened.
The face of the owner of the place darkened instantly and looked at the male servant with a murderous gaze. The man's servant shuddered in fear.

The owner of the place put on an ugly face and understood what he meant. He was simply unable to check Lin Yan's strength because Lin Yan had the technique to hide his cultivation. He could only stare at Lin Yan's back as he went upstairs.
