Chapter 03 - Rainbow Village
Pelangi Village
Rainbow Village is one of the few small settlements around the Fuin forest. The reason why it is called Rainbow Village is because of the spatter that occurs every day in that place and forms a rainbow.
Such strange phenomena are common. There are many other natural phenomena that are even more confusing to anyone. But after a lot of time had passed, such a thing was no longer something extraordinary for humans.
“Kakek.. don't tell grandma that I got into Fuin forest.” Lin Yan who was currently being dragged by Lin Ming, begged for mercy.
Lin Ming's eyeballs twisted towards Lin Yan who was always begging. He remembers his wife who had great affection for her family but was very scary when she was angry. What's more for Lin Yan, that smelly brat made his wife angry several times and Lin Yan got a beating.
“Kakek has warned you several times. But you still went into the woods. Do you know what exactly is in the center of that forest?” Lin Ming with a stoic face asked his adopted grandson that he found with his wife 14 years ago.
“Of course I know grandfather. But I didn't get into the center of that forest.” Lin Yan said in a serious tone.
Hearing Lin Yan's words, Lin Ming only let out a long sigh. “Alright, this time grandfather will hide from your grandmother.”
Lin Yan's eyes twinkled because his grandfather was very easy to compromise unlike his grandmother who would instantly kick his stomach until he bounced tens of meters away. Until now, he was still confused where the power of his grandmother's kick came from. It could be said, he was one of the strongest people who was in the Rainbow Village which was inhabited by more than four hundred people.
“Also, you are now 14 years old. It's time for you to train to become a cultivator.” Lin Ming continued.
“Cultivator?” Lin Yan pouted on his face when he heard his grandfather's words. Of course he knew about cultivators because several times their village was attacked by strong cultivators but there were mysterious cultivators who helped his village.
Every time there was an attack, those extremely arrogant cultivators would suddenly disappear for no reason. It was a frequent phenomenon that made Rainbow Village always safe.
There was something Lin Yan knew. Every time a cultivator appeared, there would be a strange energy enveloping them. He had always noticed it but did not know where the mysterious energy was coming from. Meanwhile his grandfather and grandmother simply did not have an aura like a cultivator.
“What's up?” Ling Ming as he looked at Lin Yan sullen face.
“I don't want to be a cultivator because they are all so evil.” Lin Yan refused directly even though many children his age in the village were eager to become one of the cultivators.
Lin Ming simply rolled his eyeballs and did not ask anymore. He continued to walk towards his residence.
While walking towards their residence, some Lin Ming and Lin Yan greeted the people in the village. All of them are very friendly to the elderly couple who appeared together with their grandchildren 14 years ago.
Lin Yan's grandfather and grandmother had a profession that made all the villagers respect them as well. Namely, Lin Yan's grandmother was an extraordinary figure who was a healer who could heal wounds using herbs.
Meanwhile, Lin Ming had a profession as a merchant who often traveled to a city that was a good distance away from the Rainbow Village. All of the crops and quarries that the villagers had been able to sell were sold by Lin Ming to the city.
Upon reaching their humble-looking residence, Lin Ming took down Lin Yan who was originally carrying around like he was carrying a bag of sand.
“Remember grandpa, don't tell grandma.” Lin Yan once again reminded.
Seeing his grandfather nod, Lin Yan was satisfied. He opened the door of the house while shouting. “Grandpa! I kem-.”
Maidservant!
The blurry figure shot out at high speed and instantly kicked Lin Yan's stomach which made him choke and bounce for tens of meters.
Lin Ming stared at the scene blankly then ignored it. He also entered the house without seeing Lin Yan who had been sprawled in a distant place.
Lin Yan slowly stood up while coughing. “What does grandma do? It hurts so much!” Shouted Lin Yan dissatisfied while holding his stomach.
“Ha? Did you not admit your mistake?” the figure of the slightly stooped old woman in all-black clothes looked at Lin Yan with a deathly gaze. She was Lin Yan's grandmother, the great healer in the Rainbow Village, Lin Xi.
Lin Yan shuddered as he looked at the deathly gaze of his grandmother. He immediately approached his grandmother and held both hands and stared with a very innocent pleading gaze. “Grandmother, I did go into the forest, but only on the outskirts. I didn't get into the center of the Fuin.” forest
Lin Xi's old face twitched slightly. He just breathed and spoke. “Come in, grandparents will say something to you.”
Lin Yan smiled happily because as usual. When his grandmother had kicked him hard, he just had to beg like a baby and his grandmother would forgive him.
Of course Lin Xi would always forgive her smelly granddaughter despite always making mistakes and not listening to her words. It was because he loved Lin Yan so much.
Then they entered their homes to discuss important matters.

Not far from the Rainbow Village, several figures moved at high speed towards the Rainbow Village.
“Is the information you said they were there?” one of the mysterious figures moving at high speed asked the figure next to him.
“Ya sir. They really live there. But we do not dare to approach because of the agreement that has been made decades ago.” said one other figure with a respectful tone.
The figure who asked earlier nodded small. He was the leader of that group who was currently moving towards Rainbow Village.
“The agreement can only be canceled by the two of them. But right now we are in a difficult situation. We should call the two ancestors of the Lin clan because right now the Lin clan is in a situation that forces us to call them.” said the leader of the group with a very grim face.
All of his subordinates understood that the current situation of their clan was extremely dangerous.
“They have returned, a Devil who has been sealed by both ancestors! Only the two of them can overcome this crisis!” said the figure with a grim face.
And this meeting would change Lin Yan's life completely.
